How much effort in upgrading mid-size app from WorkShop 8.1 to 9.2.2?

Hi all,
We have a mid/large size J2EE app built using WorkShop 8.1 SP5 that we are now thinking of migrating to 9.2.2. Our application uses most 8.1 features like pageflows/netui/controls/schema projects/ejbs etc, and can be considered relatively mid/large size (around 200 jsps, 200 tables, etc). My understanding is that we cant simply ungrade just the Server to 9.2, we need to upgrade the source-code too to be 9.2 compliant. Is that true?
Also, has anyone ever undertaken, or heard of, such a migration effort? I am trying to scope it down, but have no clue. Also, is WorkShop 9.2.2 the right version to upgrade to? We dont want to goto 10 yet as our data center doesnt support it, so am guessing 9.2.2 is the latest 9.2 version available.

Thanks for your help so far...I was wondering if someone could answer a question: Our old 8.1 application was organized as an EAR project in workshop 8.1, under which there were multiple other projects, such as schema projects, ejb projects etc.
The upgrade wizard that we ran to upgrade to 9.2.2 created a new directory structure, where the EAR project was at the same level (more of a peer than a parent) of the other projects.
My question is: I am thinking this new structure is not the "split directory" struture that i read in WLS docs. If so, how do i generate the EAR file for our entire application? Do i need to first modify the properties of the EAR project to refer to the other projects and then export its build file? I dont think that will work, because i tried exporting the build file for the EJB project and had to make tons of customizations (mainly coz our EJBGen needed to use the properties file option etc), to get the EJBGen to properly generate the descriptors etc.
I think my main stumbling block right now is I cant imagine in my mind how our application can be deployed on our local machines as well as prod servers: I will be able to correct the compilation errors we have so far, but then what? How do I then get the application compiled and deployed?
Am sorry for this long winded question, but i got thrown off by the dir structure the upgrade wizard created, and need some pointers.

I do not disagree with what has been said but personally I do not use this above statement as the "final say" in my work. By definition it is only as true as your monitoring - and your ears! Your ears can get tired and mislead you. What sounds great in the studio can be a nasty surprise elsewhere (or just the following morning!). You obviously cannot eq anything without listening and your ears obviously lead what you do with a mix.
All I'm saying is that as you get experienced you will also do what seems right to your head as well as to your ears. If I have to eq a vocal by 15dB I know it will likely sound "eq'd" and unnatural. That might be what I want. that might be what "sounds good" but if I'm trying to achieve a natural sound I might wonder why I need to apply such gain and consider alternative solutions.
I think the fact you have asked this question demonstrates you are on the right lines with how you are working. I'm an advocate of cautious eq. never twiddle knobs (virtual or otherwise) randomly until "it sounds good". Sit back, listen, think about what you need to do and then try it.
Don't forget about cutting as well as boosting. Indeed most folk find that reducing frequency bands rather than boosting tends towards a more natural result - so if you want something to have more "middle" pull back the "top" and "bottom".
If I'm struggling with a mix it is nearly always due to bad or excessive eq. It is rarely the other way round.

How much effort is envolved in configuring the PC-UI assuming all the processes are already configured. All I know, is that I can logon to the portal in the CRM server.

If you have portal administration skills it would be as easy as to assign the corresponding roles to the user / user groups. Accessing PCUI from the portals is done by single sign on.

How many photos do you have in your iPhoto library? As your library grows, it will take more time to load when the app launches.Personally, I have not noticed any slowdown.
And my question was meant to find out whether you import process had gotten slower than...a year ago, a month ago, compared to other photo apps? Running Mountain Lion..since you upgraded? In the end..what? Hence, I asked.

Customer Support should be able to tell you, if you sent them an e-mail, make sure you got an auto-response to that. If you did, check over it, as you'll usually have to reply to it to let them know the tips that were included didn't help. If you didn't get an auto response, check your spam filter first in case the mail is stuck there. Otherwise it's likely it didn't arri've, as the auto response always goes out when we receive a request through the webform.

Are you sure of that? Check in the Library. Click on the Apps icon to see all apps. Similarly click on the Music icon to see the songs.

If you sign in to your Apple ID then your apps will be visible by clicking the "purchased" tab at the bottom of the screen.
