How much EJB I should to know?

Hi
Experts.
Hi i am making Guest house management system for a company in SAP netweaver and backend is oracle 10g.
i learned basics of sap webDynpro like
-->Navigation between views.
-->Context programming
-->Internationalization
-->Basic UI components like input field, table,.....
-->Dynamic programming.
Now to make this project efficient i have to know EJB to access database.
I don't know anything about EJB.
So how much EJB i need to know?
and what other things i need to know please provide good reference.
I am beginner in SAP webdynpro.
but I have good programming skills and learning skills.
Is there any good tutorials available for all this EJB and web dynoro connectivity?
and good tutorial with examples that teaches how to connect oracle and EJB?
and how to merge all this things?
Regards
Sunny Shah.

  • How much sleep time should i set

    hi ,
i have a 110 threads running concurrently all making socket connections connecting to a server and performing some operation , i just want to know how much sleep time should i set so that all the threads keep working fine without hanging the program and also do their work

Is there nothing in checkPacketAndSendMessage? Are your 100 threads the producers of the messages or is it another thread?
If you want to send as many messages as possible, then why set in a sleep at all? If you are worried about responsiveness on the machine it is running on, you should just lower the priority of the java process at the operating system level. It all comes down to how many messages per second you are required to send.
So far this is not a concurrency problem, maybe you should post it in the Java Programming forum or networking forum.

  • How much HD space should I partician for Windows XP?

I am upgrading to a new (2010) iMac i5 with 1 TB HD and I was wondering how much disc space I should make for Windows XP? I only have a couple of special apps that I use in Windows and the attending files do not take up much space so other than the OS I may not need too much, but would appreciate a little starting point. Thanks.

I got this mixed up with my Shakespearean readings. I should be partition. I hit the key before reading.

  • How much RAM & CPU should I allocate for Windows 7 Ultimate?

I am in the process of setting up my new 27" iMac i7. I'm brand new to Apple computers so this is a learning curve for me! I have installed Parallels Desktop 5 so I can run Windows 7 side by side with Snow Leopard. Now I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate but I don't know how much RAM and CPU to allocate to my virtual machine. Has anyone done this and can anyone help? I have 8 gb RAM and 1 tb Hard Drive.
    Thank you for your help!

    Hello SwissCanuck,
Just FYI, with regard to 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7:
You will not be able to "upgrade" from a 32-bit version of Windows 7 to 64-bit -- the architecture between the two is too drastically different to allow such a change. To learn more about the differences between a 32-bit operating system and 64-bit please go to the following link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequ ently-asked-questions
Additionally, check out the requirements here for Windows 7:
If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it requires:
    •1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
•1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
•16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
•DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
Obviously covered as per your hardware. Essentially, it is always better if you run Windows 7 as a "Native OS" you can do this with boot camp from Apple. Typically, the performance is not as fast in virtual environments

  • How much video (time) should fit on standard DVD?

Importing from VHS to iMovieDVD then "sharing" to iDVD to Burn to Disc.
What should my expectations be regarding amount of video on one DVD? It looks like 1 hour of video will fit on the DVD (4.2gb).
The specs on the DVD says I can record 2hrs at SP but didn't seem to have an option to select prior to iDVD burning to disc.
Would like to get at least 2 hours on one disc since I'm only archiving video and highest quality is not a requirement.
    Thanks
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Welcome to discussions:)
Question 9: How much material can a single DVD disc hold?
Answer: A DVD-R disc can hold about 4.7 GB. This allows up to 120 minutes of high-quality video to fit on a DVD.

  • How much free ram should be available?

The ram that is available is determined by the applications actively operating right? Therefore if I quit some applications the free space shown in "Activity Monitor" should increase right? But how about the inactive space; Shouldn't that be considered free space too? Please help I think I might need more ram memory. Thanks in advance.

Here's the rundown on memory usage (from the Help menu in Activity Monitor)
"Wired: Wired memory is information that can’t be cached to disk, so it must stay in RAM. The amount depends on what applications you are using.
Active: Active memory is currently in RAM and actively being used.
Inactive: Inactive memory is no longer being used and has been cached to disk. It will remain in RAM until another application needs the space. Leaving this information in RAM is to your advantage if you (or a client of your computer) come back to it later.
Used: Used memory is being used by a process and not immediately available.
Free: Free memory is not being used and is immediately available.
VM size: Virtual memory, or VM, is hard disk space that can be used as memory. VM size is the amount of disk space memory being used. Mac OS X can use more memory than the amount of physical RAM you have. A hard disk is much slower than RAM, so the virtual memory system must automatically distribute information between disk space and RAM for efficient performance.
Page ins/outs: The number of times Mac OS X has moved information between RAM and disk space."
The way I understand it is that as long as you have few or no Page Outs you are fine with the RAM you have. Also, as you can see, the Inactive Memory is available for use by other apps if necessary.
    Hope this helps.

  • How much more memory should I get on my 2009 MBP

I have a MBP 2009 model 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo DDR3. Model# W8933NTF66D. that currently only has 2Gb of DDR memory and ever since I did the 10.10.1 update to Yosemite it has slowed down to a crawl so my question is, should I upgrade to 4Gb's or 8Gb's what do you guys suggest and what website's should I trust to buy it from.?
Also I want to put it a SSD (solid state drive) but can't decide wether to get a 120GB or 240GB. What do you guys think.?
All I basically do is school work, surf the internet, upload pics to iPhoto and edit. Thank you in advance for any help..

No.  Any enclosure will do the job that is designed for 2.5" SATA hard drives.  This is an inexpensive enclosure that OWC sells:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/ES2.5BPU2S/
It can be used for SSDs or HDDs.  It is a generic enclosure.  Order this or an equivalent from some one else.

I appreciate the help OGEL..I'll even pay you to text me step by step when I get this new SSD so I can format it because I am thinking that if I just remove the old HD and install the new SSD then nothing will happen when I connect the external HD with the time machine back-up.
Before you can install an OSX any any data on a new drive (HDD or SSD) it must be formatted.  Nothing will happen until then.
When you get all of the components, start a new discussion.  There are many others as well as myself who can and will assist you to make certain that the installation is performed correctly.  I do not get involved in direct communications with others on these forums.
As a preliminary exercise, look at this installation video which will show you how to actually install the SSD in your MBP:

  • How much do I need to know?

Hello. I'm in the process of learning J2EE. The benefits of knowing as much as possible are self-evident, but as we all know, J2EE is a broad subject. If you were hiring someone to be a J2EE developer, what would you expect that person to know? I'm figuring, at least Java, servlets, JSPs and Java Beans, and maybe some framework like Struts. Can anyone else add anything I'm leaving out? Thanks.

Here's a simple MVC design approach I previously posted: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10786901
I believe a large number of jobs involve creating a web site that accesses a database, displays the data (say, as a form using JSP), allows the user to alter the records, and save it back to the database. Also, be able to insert new records and delete records. I suggest creating a project based on the link above and refactor it over and over again to perfect it. Next, review it to ensure is safe for concurrent access by more than one person at a time. Only then you can consider a framework such as Struts or Spring. My suggestion is to read a lot of books on J2EE topics such as Java, JSP/Servlets, JDBC, XHTML, SQL, etc, etc, and etc.

  • How much do I need to know in order to create this

I've thinking about this thing for a very long time - a thing that's really bugging me: the swatches panel's "list types".
Currently you can list your swatches as small or large thumbnails - or in a small or large list. Neither is really "satisfactory" to me.
I would like to have them in either a multi-column table or as a thumbnail matrix.
What would I need to create this and where do I start? I know no C++ at all, but I'm fairly good with scripting (learning javascript wouldn't be a problem) and I've used Flash in the past.
Also, I think that there's so little guiding material online: where are all plugin tutorials? I've found a few scripting tutorials but this task requires much bigger tools than a basic understanding of javascript.
So where the heck do I begin? Right now this task seems massive and time-consuming

You can't create that -- those functions are coded into the app and not accessible from a plugin.
The SDK contains very extensive documentation and examples on writing plugins.
And yes, writing C/C++ code does require more knowledge than writing scripts.

  • How much HDD space should Leopard consume on an "erase and install" install

I installed Leopard into my 17 In MacBook Pro and the 92 Gig HDD is now half full and I only have about 14 gig of music on the HDD.
I would figure the OS take about 14 to 18 gig max, so my question is, did the installed keep the old stuff and if so how do I reclaim the HDD space back.
Hope someone and point me in te right direction
    Thanks
    Newport Tom

If you did an Erase and Install then nothing should be on the drive except what you installed. You might try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes and then restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • How much HDD space should a typical Leopard install take

My Mini is a week old so not much extra stuff on it yet. The drive is the 120GB size and disc utility says 52 GB is available. Does this sound right. When I look at each folder on the drive the biggest is Users at 16GB while Apps, Lib and Sys are around 5GB.
I did install then remove Parallels for some problems that app gave me. Thanks

15-20 Gig would be fairly typical by the time the running system has generated virtual memory files, a sleep file, tmp files, and assorted cache files.
It is possible that Parallels has left behind a container file of considerable size.

  • How much partition space should I have for the windows side?

I need to set up a partition to run windows on my mac.  what is the minimum space I should use for the partition so that windows doesn't get bogged down?

After you install and Windows downloads all the updates - that can amount to a year of updates since even SP1 came out, more if original Windows 7.
Those updates need room to unzip, write the installer cache, update files.  And even with 12GB of free space is a tight fit.
And that is on top of everything else mentioned.

You can't have a second internal drive in a Mac Book Pro. Your best bet would be an external Firewire drive set as your scratch disk. OWC/MacSales has a nice cheap selection. But I would upgrade your RAM to 4GB and internal hard drive to 320GB or 500GB first. I think you'll find better overall performance from these additions. [duck]
