How much I can use out of the iphone without activating it, like a PDA?

What is the status of an iphone before activation or after de-activation (cancel the plan)? Could I use the iphone like a pda? With Wi-Fi, iphone is still a nice PDA, isn't it?

According the AT&T documentation, "In the inactive state it will not
make or receive calls, except for emergency calls. As well, the iPod, Internet, and Wi-Fi capabilities will not be functional until the device is activated."

    Hello comodotomi
If the app is in iTunes, you can get information on what Apple ID was associated with the purchase. The steps to do this are outline in the article below.

I know cost is always a factor when shopping for a phone, Lkemp. The cost of the iPhone 6 does vary based on the model size you select and your upgrade eligibility. If you are currently eligible to upgrade (Dial #UPG to find out) then you can purchase the iPhone 6 at the 2 year price which starts at $199.99 for the 16GB model. • How can i get into my iphone without activating it through itunes id

How can I get into my iPhone without activating it through itunes id

If the iPhone has Find My iPhone activation lock enabled then you will not be able to activate the iPhone without entering the correct Apple ID and password it is locked to. Sorry but there is no way to bypass this.

    @ Philly
    Yes there is,
When you recieve a mail with an attachement (inline or as a picture) right click (or control click) the attachement and choose "show as symbol" or "show fullsize" (or completely or something like that, I don't work in English version). Mail will take this as a general preference.

  • Is there a way that I can control iTunes with the iPhone without any internet connections?

First let me say that I am ready to throw this POS in the lake.  Is there a way that I can control iTunes with my iPhone without any internet connections?  On my houseboat I have a wifi router and want to connect my phone to my computer to control my music which plays from my computer through my stereo.  I can easily do it with my laptop without having to jump through any internet APPLE BS , but I dont want to have my laptop out on the deck. I just want to use the phone as a remote control.
Remote wont do it because it keeps saying Im not connected to the internet, even though is is connected to my computer.  Same problem with JumiAmp.

It should have an option to manage iTunes library without network connection, like Bluetooth or connect directly to the computer without a router or wi-fi, i live outsite of the city and i dont have the ability to control my iTunes librry from the iphone

  • How much storage can I get in the ipad app pages

How much storage space do I have in the app Pages?
    Bob

As far as I know there is no limit within the app, your main limit is the space you have on your ipad.....if you have 5 gig open then Pages can use up to 5 gig, if you have 400 megs, then it can use 400 megs.

  • I have an iMac OS X Version 10.5.8 but I also have a MacBookPro 10.7.5 version, why software updates are not the same? For example, when I want to know how much memory can not store in the same way in either computer.

I have an iMac OS X Version 10.5.8 but I also have a MacBookPro 10.7.5 version, why software updates are not the same? For example, the way to see how much memory I have in my iMac is diferent than MacBookPro. And where I can see the memory of the disc I've got in my iMac? Than you very much.

If you want everything the same on both computers you need to be running the same OS X version. You can't because your iMac is a PPC machine, not Intel.
But to see information about your hard drive is the same for both. Simply select the drive icon on the Desktop. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Disk information is in the upper panel.

  • How much noise can be tolerated on the output of the DAQpad -6020E?

What is the noise level (frequency range/ volt amplitude) that, when added to the digital communication of the USB output of the DAQ-6020E that will affect its operation?

    Hello,
There is no way to directly inject noise into the USB transfer lines unless you opened up the board and wired something to the USB system.
Other than that, USB has a standard hardware interface. If you have motors or other devices that produce strong magnetic fields, they might induce current that could corrupt USB data transfers. Barring that and other environmental noise, you can just depend on the USB standards.
If this isn't what you are asking about, please write back with exactly what you are doing that can inject noise into the USB data transfer.

  • How much space is used on a new iPhone 6?

I know the iPod Touch right out of the box has space taken up with the pre installed apps and software.
Does anyone know how much of the 32GB is already used when one first buys the phone?
I imagine the same space is already taken up on a 16GB iPhone 6 also?

iOS, the built in apps, and system overhead take about 3 GB. It is slightly more on a 32 GB than on a 16 GB because the storage allocation map is larger, but the difference will not be significant.
There's an artifact of the way that memory is calculated that will make the storage shown on the phone itself look smaller than it actually is; this is the difference between the 16GB rating which is expressed in decimal, and the storage on the phone, which is measured in binary where 1 KB is 1024 bytes rather than 1,000 bytes. See: How OS X and iOS report storage capacity - Apple Support for an explanation of this difference.

  • Can i use the Iphone without Activating it just as an ipod

Can i just use the iphone as an ipod. Put songs on it without having to activate it or canceling the plan and it still work like an ipod.

It is what it is and before purchasing an iPhone, it is also YOUR choice to read/know the minimum computer system requirements, etc. and it is Apple's choice regarding what they include with the system requirements and other requirements for the iPhone.
It isn't your right and choice to do whatever you want with the iPhone after your purchase since you agree to Apple's license agreement when using an iPhone.
If you don't like the iPhone's minimum system requirements and other requirements and don't agree with the iPhone's license agreement, you can choose not to purchase an iPhone.
Apple's goal as a corporation is no different from any other corporation whose stock is publicly traded - maximize profits and the stock's value for their stock holders. End of story. I hope Steve purchases a new yacht for every coast in the U.S. or wherever else. It is called risk taking and those who take the risks to begin with - the founders of the company and the risks taken along the way should be rewarded very handsomely for doing so and rightfully so. The ones who aren't smart enough and willing to take the same type of risks sit back and make judgements and statements about the ones that do.

  • How much ram can be downloaded from the ITunes store using 3G?

I'm wanting to download some music apps/composing programs and wasn't able to download one because of 3G size/ram restrictions. I don't see any place on the app info site that tells me about the size, so I don't know until I'm actually downloading whether I can download or not. Is there a way to tell the size of the app if it's not posted on the ITune store? I'd rather not do partial downloads. ITunes was kind enough to get rid of Pages and I Am Symphony for me.
Another related issue because it's about a music app: It gave me a prompt when I first tried to. use it that I didn't have enough memory. I knew that couldn't be right since I have the 64g/3G/wifi model, so I ditched that app.
Is this what you can memory drain? I read about that on this forum? what's the best thing to do for that? restart? or did I do the right thing by ejecting the app?

Regards the size of apps the actual size of the apps is listed on iTunes
Secondly you seem to be getting storage capacity/app size mixed up with RAM. They are two different things. The 64GB you have on your iPad is for actual storage of content whether it be apps, books, music, podcasts, video etc. RAM is the volatile memory that is used during the running of the iPad including the apps.
The system requirements including the amount of RAM needed to run are not simply because unlike computers all iPads are the same regards the internal system specs. The only differences being the actual storage capacity and whether they have 3G capability or not.
If you get an error message regards lack of system memory or RAM then doing a reset may help clear this problem. Unfortunately some developers do not optimise their apps properly for the iPad and it's not the first time an app has not run or crashed due to a lack of RAM. The best thing to do is to report it to the developer using the link on their iTunes app page.
Regards memory leaks these do occur with both software on computers as well as apps on the iPad and iPhone. These are also due to badly designed apps or software and would need to be fixed by the developers.

  • How much data can I put on the RAID?

We have always heard not to go over the 80% full mark on our RAID. We have a 7TB (5.4 usable) that has about 1TB free sitting on it. We could really use some of that space for other things. Is 80% a true limit, or should we just start filling until we notice problems? Thanks

Performance will slow as the RAID fills up. For a few reasons:
    1) As the volume approaches capacity, there are fewer contiguous blocks on the storage. So the volume will get fragmented, which forces the heads to move around substantially more for reads and writes. This will also make the heads work harder -- it could reduce life span of the drives, but truthfully it's likely this isn't enough to be noticeable.
    2) The density of tracks on the inside of the drives is less than the outside. Drives just can't read as fast on the inside, because there are fewer tracks there (given track "length" is constant but the linear distance is less on the inside). So performance reading from the inner tracks is often less than half what it is on the outer tracks.
    3) As the disks fill, the heads have to move more just "in general," in addition to fragmentation. Some files are on the inside, some are on the outside, and the heads have to access all along the radius of the disk to find info (the disks generally fill outside-in, so on a half-full disk the heads are typically "stroking" only half this radius). Moving heads costs time, so this slows things down.
So the penalty you'll pay is a decrease in speed. At 80% it will be noticeable, and at 90% it's likely it will be dramatic (say, 30% to 40% slower in some cases). Do you need the speed, and is it random access?
Most professional IT folks I deal with have a standing practice to not let enterprise storage get over 80% full. Their EMC sales reps are "nice enough" to give them a friendly call when they hit 50% capacity, and suggest it's time to start looking for more storage, so they can roll it in when they hit 70%. How helpful
While this may be a bit excessive for those on lesser budgets, I'd still recommend you consider adding storage before you fill. It will get painful... starting as a dull ache and getting more and more acute as you pass 90%.
