How much i hate verizon.

Alright, this is how much I hate verizon. And please, feel free to tell me if i'm wrong here.
1. Why is it that everytime I change a location, I never have any service. I feel like i'm in the 1% of Ohio that has no service. Can we fix this, so that when I go back to college I can still have service?
2. Why is it that everytime I ask when my upgrade date is everyone seems to give me a different answer. If it's May, they'll tell me June, and when its finally June, and I'm all amped up for my upgrade, they tell me July. I know when I got my last upgrade. IT WAS CHRISTMAS.
3. Why is it that everytime I see a phone I like in store, but have to wait for my upgrade, it then goes straight to internet. So you can't even buy it in the store anymore. So then I continue to wait for my upgrade and then the phone is GONE. They no longer sell it.
4. Why is it that everytime I want a nicer phone it costs me 40 dollars extra? I don't want the internet, just give me the cool looking phone. Well they can't do that. I mean I know you can, you did it before you decided to ever charge people for that. Hey verizon, I don't the blackberry to check my email, i'm fifteen, I only want to play brickbreaker for 24 hours a day.
5. The people who work in the stores are not helpful. You go to the closest store in town and they can't help you. But yet you go the the same store 30 minutes away and they help you right away. Yeah they don't ever really help you, but its nice to know someone is going to give you the answer your looking for.
WHY VERIZON?
Its like, for my birthday all I wanted was the Razzle. And no I'm not fifteen, but anyway. I saw it in the store and was all about it. Well I went back in May, because thats what time verizon said my upgrade date was, and I saw it. So i liked it. Well they then told me my upgrade was in June. Okay, at least I know what phone I want now. So I go back in June and can't find it. They tell me it went straight to internet, and then proceed to tell me that my upgrade wasn't for another month. Well it's July now, and my upgrade was a week ago. Because my parents haven't been home I have been unable to order the phone. I checked last week to see if the Razzle was still there and it was. As soon as my parents got home it was gone. Its like verizon knows where and when to {please keep your posts courteous} with my life. But I mean thank verizon you really make my day, ALWAYS. And if your not picking up the sarcasm i'm throwing down, well i'm sorry I wasted your time, because you're probably lost right now.

Well I can answer no. 4 for you.
1st of all it's not $40 it's $30 for email & web for smartphones.
The reason why most of the cell phone carriers out there force charge you for internet for smartphones and multimedia phones is because alot of "PEOPLE" out there screwed it up for everyone else. At the time when you had a choice between unlimited and pay as you go for $1.99per MB, Alot of "PEOPLE" out there chose the 'pay as you go' plan then surf on the internet download files etc.. and racking up there bills to several thousands of dollars, then calling their carrier to dispute the charges.
So we own it to the ignorant people that made that happen.
No, you are quite wrong.  The root of the data package requirement is Verizon's desire to increase their profits by attaching high revenue features to their most popular phones.  It had little to nothing to do with people requesting refunds on data overages.  If we had "people" to blame for this, we would have seen Verizon do things like cut off your data plan after you use your allowance, allow customers to set a data spending limit on their account, require customers to block data if they request a refund for "accidental" access charges one or more times.
Truth be told, Verizon loves it when people get on PAYGO and use a ton of data, generally, they only offer a 50% discount as a way to shut the consumer up, and that's still a good chunk of change for Verizon, certainly more than the $30 they would have recieved had the consumer made the intelligent decision to purchase an unlimited data package before browsing extensively.
Verizon wants more money from each account, and they've found a new way to increase the revenue each customer provides them, that's all there is to this.

  • How much RAM does verizon internet have dedicated?

Using GT704WG hard wired to Gateway 3 Ghz 2048 MB DDR2. I-MAC wireless in another room. Verizon is ISP. I have 1300 MB free RAM after I log on. Less as I surf. (win xp sp 3).
I wouldn't normally think of Ram as an issue when they only used, to put 512 mb in these things and they ran alot faster.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

How much RAM you are utilizing has nothing to do with your ISP. It has to do with your computer and the software you have running. If your browser is using too much memory, then you need to troubleshoot your browser.

  • How much $$$ will Verizon charge me if I don't return the Fascinate after receiving replacement?

How much $$$ will Verizon charge me if I don't return the Fascinate after receiving replacement?
I spoke with customer service and couldn't get a real number.  She just said it "could be up to $500, or more"
to be determined after they don't receive it within the 5-day period.
Is there a way to find out for sure how much it's going to cost?
    Thanks!
    Here's the reason I'm asking:
I forgot to drop it off at FedEx on the way to the airport.  My entire family is now on an overseas trip and won't
be back for 8 weeks.   The Fascinate, packed in Verizon box with FedEx box, is now sitting in my car trunk at
the airport long-term parking lot.  I was supposed to stop by the FedEx office at the airport cargo area to drop
it off, but forgot about it during the rush....   (yes, I do realize it's a stupid mistake that may end up costing a
    lot of money)

    Hi and good morning!
I would like to review your account with you and ensure I can help resolve any concerns you have about being charged for this device. Please PM me directly so we can discuss this together. Also, include your name and mobile number with your PM to me.
Thank you so much and have a safe overseas trip!

I have a 32gb iPad 2 with Verizon 3G that could pass as new. It has no scratches or dents and has always had a screen protector and case on it. I want to upgrade to the new 32gb iPad mini with 3G but want to know how much my current iPad is worth first.

  • How much would Verizon charge to fix a lock button?

I don't have any insurance or a warranty. Could you tell me how much it cost if I brought it to Verizon? Or could verizon even fix it?

Verizon no longer repairs phones as they did years ago.
Bring your iPhone to an Apple Store and they will fix it. If under a year old Apple has a year warranty.
    Good Luck

  • How much would it be to add 2 more lines with unlimited talk and text?

I would like to find out how much three lines would cost with unlimited talk and text

    BE WARNED!!!!
I was just hammered by Verizon because I added 2 lines. I brought two family members over from other carriers to our "share everything plan". The iphones we ordered came with pre-assigned numbers. The family members wanted to keep their existing numbers and Verizon said to "just have them ported over".
We didn't want, or had any use for the numbers that Verizon assigned the two new phones. When I got the phones I called the Port center at Verizon and they walked me through getting the numbers over from the other network. They had me activate the phones and then ported the numbers over (spend about a day on the process).
So I just got my bill and was outraged. Verizon charged me $78 for the lines of the phones they sent. I was charged $78 just to activate the line so that a number could be ported over. So now I have an extra $156 on my bill not to mention the $$$ they added on to have the numbers ported over. So adding two people to my family share plan cost me $327.

  • How much would it be to get my pic messaging back?

Okay, so here's "the scoop." I was added under my dad and stepmom's plan on Oct. 4th 2009. We have the 700 min. talk and text* plan and was wondering about our pix messaging plan. As I understand it, they USED to be included in that plan for one FLAT price. Well in March, my dad decided to put my phone under suspension because I didn't really use it. In May I got it back and had pix messaging for a while, but then when I got a pix message it showed a banner saying "national access not available." So I called my dad and he said that he had taken pix messaging off our plan, he told me it was because it was expensive. I would really like to have it back now (because I am a teenager) and would be willing to pay for it but I have questions and they need answers before I go ahead and propose this idea to my dad.
    1. Did verizon change pix messaging rates and plans?
    2.  About how much would it be to get it back, and would it apply to all three (my dad, my stepmom, and I) of us?
    3. Can it be added back to our plan? (I know with some things once you remove it, you can't get it back, you either have to upgrade, and then go back to where you were, or cancel your plan altogether.)
    Thank you in advance

Talk and Text 700 minutes is $99.99 a month for 2 lines, and $9.99 for each additional line of service.  That includes unlimited texting, pictures too, for all lines.  Blocking National access, as Mary said, and it does sound as if that's the case, does not SAVE any money, if you still have the Talk & Text plan, it just prevents picture and sound messages from being sent and received.
On the other hand, if there is a block on picture messaging, and they stepped down to the Talk only plan, they are saving $30 a month bu paying for texts - unless they added a texting plan for only your line.
You need to find out what plan is on the account, and what, if any, blocks are in place.  A national access block will prevent you from accessing the internet and stop data charge surprises, but it also block picture messaging.  You can add a texting package to only your line if they are on the TALK only plan:
$5/mo for 250 texts (sent and received)
$10/mo for 500 texts PLUS unlimited texts M2M
    $20/mo for 5000 texts PLUS unlimited M2M
This is per line, and each line on a family plan can have its own bundle.
If they are still on the Talk & Text, you already have unlimited text, picture, and video messaging included.

  • I was wondering how much it would cost to get out of this contract? I have 4 lines and 3 contracts end on 10-2015 and 1 in dec of 2014?? My bill is 300 or more per month which is a bit pricy now considering the other offers with other companies available

How much are early termination fees? I have 4 lines, 3 of which expire 10-2015 and 1 in Dec 2014. Is there any creative ways to get out????

  • How much RAM needed for the DB box

    Hi,
Can someone share with me the technical way to do calculation of how much of RAM needed for a new Linux box with estimation of 500 users. I hope this calculation can also allow me to breakdown how much MEMORY needed for each session.
Please recommend any site that I can refer to if any. TQ.

My project start with Oracle 9i R2 (9206) on Linux (not yet confirm on the platform and etc). Just assume I will use Linux Red Hat Adv Sever latest version.
Hence how many GB of memory for the box is sufficient to handle 500 connections. Pls guide me the formula to derive the calculation. TQ

  • Why do I have to guess how much data I might use in a month when I select a plan?

When I sign up for water service, I don't guess that I might use 1,000 gallons a month, and then pay three times the going rate for water if I take a few extra showers. I get charged for how much water I use that month.
When I sign up for electricity service, I don't guess that I might use some set number of kilowatt hours, and then pay three times the going rate if we have a heat wave and I run my air conditioner for a few extra hours.
Why do I have to guess how much data I might use, and then spend three times the going rate if I stay up watching youtube videos for a few extra nights?
It is stressful to have to constantly monitor usage, and figure out ratios of how much I've used compared to how much time is left in the billing cycle to see if I need to curb my usage. It is not a good customer experience. I would prefer that data be charged a flat rate based on actual usage, perhaps with an option to throttle speeds at certain levels to prevent cases where a minor lapse in judgment could ruin my monthly budget, like forgetting to check data usage religiously on a device meant to simplify my life.
    Thank you for your consideration.

Simple answer is Verizon is offering a block of data for usage.
Where I live the water bill states my wife and I are being charged for 30,000 gallons per quarter/half and the price is say $60 however we never use any where near that amount. I send the meter reading in and it shows the amount we use. But the hamlet we are in has a set amount of gallons. Not fair but we live with it.
For your data outside of the unlimited which is not available any more to new customers you may be a light user and never go over the 2GB for $30 dollars a month. If you do you will pay through the nose for data. If you pay for more data say 4GB and I don't have the price for it so lets say its $70 then you don't have to watch as much for overage fees. But you are paying for the data in advance so as not go over and get hit with whopping fees.
It is just the way it is.

  • How much hard disk free space?

My mini is used almost exclusively as a media "appliance", hooked up to a large flat panel TV. Installed on the mini itself is the operating system and little more. Attached to it are several (currently 4) large (1 TB) firewire hard drives crammed with movies and TV episodes (I have digitized my extensive DVD collection with Handbrake plus I have nearly stopped buying new DVDs in favor of downloading from iTunes).
My question is how much (what percentage) of these external drives needs to be left empty in order for them to operate with reasonable efficiency. They are virtually "read only" in that once I have uploaded a video file to them, it sits there until and unless I want to watch it (or unless I decide to download it to my MacBook and/or iPad to take with me for watching on trips).
I recall reading years ago that one should keep 10% or so of a hard disk free. Elsewhere, I read it should be as much as 20%. But it strikes me that that would mainly apply to a start-up drive that is constantly being read and written to, not a drive like mine that mainly just stores files and occasionally reads from them.
To re-emphasize, I keep much of my start-up drive free except what's required for the OS so the issue isn't that but just the external storage drives. I hate to waste as much as 400GB of space (100GB on each of four 1 TB drives).

I think your argument has some validity, but since you have a lot of time and effort invested in this project, I personally wouldn't try to cut things too close to the bone.
With drives of that size, I'm comfortable with the 10% rule; perhaps even 5%.
However, with the price of drives falling, perhaps gradually transitioning to larger capacity drives would be a good idea.
My understanding is that most modern drives dynamically re-allocate data from sectors that the drive controller senses are going to fail -- so having an adequate percentage of "wiggle room" makes sense to me.
"Wiggle room" may also come in handy if you ever need to rescue a drive using a utility like DiskWarrior, which needs space to rebuild directory structures.
