How much noise can be tolerated on the output of the DAQpad -6020E?

What is the noise level (frequency range/ volt amplitude) that, when added to the digital communication of the USB output of the DAQ-6020E that will affect its operation?

Hello,
There is no way to directly inject noise into the USB transfer lines unless you opened up the board and wired something to the USB system.
Other than that, USB has a standard hardware interface. If you have motors or other devices that produce strong magnetic fields, they might induce current that could corrupt USB data transfers. Barring that and other environmental noise, you can just depend on the USB standards.
If this isn't what you are asking about, please write back with exactly what you are doing that can inject noise into the USB data transfer.
Thank you,

  • How much modification can be made to VIs without changing the test sequence?

    Hi,
    Stupid question (likely).
If I have a TestStand (4.1) test sequence and within I am calling various Labview VIs (8.6), can I modify the VI in a small way without affecting the teststand sequence?
I realise if I change the connectors in anyway this will definitely require modification (or reloading) of the VI in teststand but what if I change something more internal, say change a for loop to while loop or add cases etc.??
Basically I want to add some features to a VI but I don't want to have to go through over 100 sequence files, reload the VIs (although this can be done programmatically), save the files as new versions and then test them to make sure nothing has broken.
    Cheers.

Hey WiMAX_Eng, thanks for posting your workaround. In a previous post you mentioned programatically relinking VIs. I assume that you followed the method discribed in the following articles. I wanted to post them here, so other members of the community can refer to them.

  • How much data can 256GB Flash storage hold?

How much data can a 256GB Flash storage hold?  The only reason I haven't gone ahead with my purchase is that I'm worried that 256GB is too little.  I wish it were possible to upgrade to 512GB on the base model.

Depends on what you're gonna put in it.
How big is your current HD?  Are you 50% full?
Only you can answer that question.
I've got a 500GB hard drive and I've only used 80GB since everything else is saved on a external drive for security and privacy purposes in case i lose my MB.

  • How much noise should the hard drive make on a MBP early 2011?

Had since May/June last year i5 13" and only since I applied all updates few weeks ago it seems to be louder than it was before?
It sounds like a fan but isn't... obviously. Right hand side of track pad, and covering it, in fact just touching it dampens it to barely audible. Is that normal or has something gone a bit weird? A constant fan noise, which isn't the fan is now there permanently.

How much noise should the hard drive make on a MBP early 2011?
    None.
The machine should only make noise if the Superdrive is being used or the CPU's heavily used, going by my Early 2011 17".

It's possible it wasn't installed correctly and/or the case is slightly off so it's resonating the hard drive vibrations.
Make sure you have a internet connection (don't move) and reboot the machine holding the d key down like forever and Hardware Test will run.
Backup your data off the machine, if the hard drive dies under 1 year or three years with Applecare, then go get a new one. else you can replace it yourself with a better one and not void your warranty if you don't break anything doing so. Add more RAM while your at it.

As you know Mac's are made by hand by young Chinese women working 12 hour shifts performing the same function every 7 seconds for only $1.20 a hour. They live 7 to a box room and have to pay 70¢ a meal.
All in all I would say they are very tired, and it's possilbe a few defects made it to your machine.

You can buy a factory unlocked on direct from Apple sim free, make sure you get the right one and not just a contract free one.  I am sure  one of our US members will be able to give you the price.

  • How much pressure can the macbook screen take??????

i have just bought a macbook pro retina late 2013. I was wondering how much pressure can the screen take???????

You said you verified a very close (hopefully with a magnifier) look with varying background colors at the point of impact that there was no color variation as indicative of a hairline crack.
So, AFTER the impact, the white line has appeared 3 times since?
If that is the case you have a hairline crack that you missed upon close inspection or actual, but rare, LCD damaged that didnt manifest an actual crack.
in which case make appt. with Apple on your display. If there IS a crack you missed at inspection or genuine LCD damage, there is no way to fix that, the display would have to be replaced.

  • How much sdram can the iMac 2007 20" dual core 2.4gHz take?

How much sdram can the iMac 2007 20" dual core 2.4gHz take?

    Not SDRAM but SO-DIMM.
The max RAM is offically, 4 GB (two 2GB PC2-5300 667MHz DDR2 SO-DIMM) module but, with larger modules released after that model's specs were written, you can achieve 6GB with one 2GB plus one 4GB module.
You must get the 4GB from a Mac Savvy vendor or it won't work. OWC has the larger modules that are well-tested in Macs:

  • How much noise is normal?

I noticed when the room is totally silent, i can hear my hard drive doin stuff. How much noise is normal? Can you hear your hard drive at all?

Unless you're accessing a lot of information on your hard drive, a constantly noisy hard drive can sometimes be an indication that you need more RAM.
When a computer's RAM is fully used, the computer must then resort to Virtual memory which is paged from the hard drive constantly, which thus can be noisy sometimes.
If you notice that your iBook is making this noise consistently at a certain time, it is likely that OS X is performing its self-maintenence daemons, which means updating databases on your hard drive, etc. and this can be noisy sometimes as well.
As far as how loud the drive can be can vary, but I can definitely hear my Rev. A iBook G4 in a silent room. So I wouldn't worry as far as that's concerned.
    I hope this helps.

  • How much Ram can I add to my MacBook Pro?

Another non-techie here with a memory question
How much RAM can I add to my MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,1
    MacBook Pro (late 2006)
Processor 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Current memory: 2GB (two SO-DIMMs) 667 MHz DDRs SDRAM (PC2-5300)
The actual installation sounds quite simple.  I just want to be sure I get the right chips.  Any sources you can recommend?
    TIA
