Hi, there! I'm new to this Apple Discussions page, so greetings to all. So I am thinking of selling my iPod Touch 4th Generation in order to buy the iPod Touch 5th Generation. My iPod has 16 gigabytes; I'm planning on getting the 5th Gen. 16gb as a replacement. Anyway, I have only had this iPod for a year, but I really want the newer device because of the iOS and other new features. It only has scratches on the back and doesn't have any cracks on the screen. How much do you think I should sell it for?
Oh, and if anyone has the iPod 5th Gen. 16gb, do you think it is worth considering selling my 4th Gen. for the newer iDevice?
BTW, I am not planning on selling it back to Apple or Amazon or anything of that sort because I want to sell it at a higher price. I'd sell it to a friend/family member/relative.

I get that you are not planning on selling it online but you can utilize eBay to get an idea of what people are paying for those models. Just search for '4th gen iPod touch 16 GB', switch to 'Sold Listings' and see what recent listings have sold for.

Selling my G3 B&W, how much should i advertise it for?

I am going to sell my G3 B&W computer and buy myself a nice new apple laptop but I'm not sure how much to advertise it for in my papers, not ebay. I don't have anything against ebay but i won't get as much for it.
This is the specification of it: -
G3 400Mhz
512MB RAM
2 x 10GB SCSI and 1 x 20GB SCSI HDD's
DVD±RW drive
17" monitor, keyboard and mouse.
OS X panther 10.3.9 (all updates installed) complete with all discs and manuals.

The DVDr $30 if it was/is a high end sought after model
Panther maybe $25
The monitor in some markets have to be given away so you'd be lucky to get $25
No way that is worth $200
I don't know why people keep quoting those sites as a realistic price guide. The people who post it wouldn't pay the amounts listed there for those units. At best its what you'd get as a tax write-off if the computers were donated but those listed prices are not the going market rates in the U.S.

Oh sorry. On this forum are mostly people who need something. Huh it is not easy to say but as I wrote before check eBay to see actual prices for such parts.
I am pretty sure you can sell it quickly on eBay. Used one costs around 200 euro, so for your parts maybe you can get between 100 and 140 euro. It is not easy to say.

That's not practical. If you want to use the hard drive on a Windows machin while still being useful for Time Machine you should use MacDrive.

I would make the partition at least twice the size of the internal drive. Preferably, you would want 50 GB for a Leopard install that includes just the base operating system so you can boot off the 50 GB to recover your Time Machine data if your Leopard installer disc ever becomes unusable.
Also since you have a Powerbook, your 1 TB hard drive should be Firewire. USB will not boot Powerbooks. If it is USB only, you can remove the external hard drive case and replace it with one compatible with the drive inside that case from http://www.macsales.com/ that has Firewire.

It isn't that risky. You may be reading hundreds of posts here about problems, but that is out of MILLIONS of iPhones that have been upgraded. Percentage-wise, that means most people have no problem.
However, as with any major change to your system, you should back up everything your iPhone first. Just right-click it in iTunes to get the backup menu. That will be your safe fallback position in case something goes wrong.
I still use an iPhone 3GS. That's older than your iPhone. But iOS 5 works fine on it.
