I was hoping I could have your advice on something. I am working on a contract for my own design company. I usually design two mockups in Photoshop for a client. I was thinking of charging $150 for two mockups which also includes interior pages. What do you think of that? Thanks

It must be strictly controlled by you since no-one else will. If not, a) you end up doing work for nothing - often many hours on what seemed at first like a "small" new feature, 2) resentment sets in when you find yourself unable to charge for it without damaging the relationship.

In the future after I master the art of home recording, (well at least as far as garageband will take me) I'd like to make alittle money recording artists around the area that don't have access or the know how to record themselves. I'm talking about simple stuff like recording a guy and his guitar, and maybe a bass or keyboard tops. How much would you guys suggest charging for this service?

It's not that no one wants to, it's just that there's no way to answer the question. You should probably ask your potential clients what they are willing to pay, or call up a studio in your area and see how much they charge. It really depends on your competition. It's just like any other business. It's your customers that will decide if your product provides a good value. Given that more and more people are getting Garageband and the price of good quality interfaces is going down, it will be your expertise that people will be paying for. It's hard to tell what your level of expertise will be at some point in the future.

Selling iPhone - How much should I charge?

I was at a company function today and someone came up to me and wanted to buy my iPhone. I have the 1st generation 8GB phone, which is in fine condition. When I research how much I should charged, I just saw a lot of unlocked phones. Mine is not unlocked. It is regular, 8GB from the Apple store and I have AT&T service.
I don't want to over charge my colleague, but I would like to get as much as I can for it so that I can get a new iPhone. (Whole story is that this person from work wants a 3G, and will buy mine to give to her husband, that way they both have one, but he doesn't need the 3G version).
Anyone have a recommendation for how much I should charge? Can I expect $199 or more, or does that seem a bit unreasonable?

Well, you should be able to charge more considering:
1) iPhone 3G is not yet available really...
2) They may not want an iPhone 3G because they dont want to sign a new activation with AT&T. With the old iPhone, they can just pop in their old sim card from their phone and they are good to go...
3) People may want an unlocked phone (which cannot happen to 3G iPhones because you must sign a new contract to purchase one...
I would say that even though the newer models are $200, older models are more valuble to people not in the market to terminate or extend their phone providers contracts... I'd say between $300 and $500 at this point depending on if the phone is in good condition and/or unlocked.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

I forgot to drop it off at FedEx on the way to the airport. My entire family is now on an overseas trip and won't
be back for 8 weeks. The Fascinate, packed in Verizon box with FedEx box, is now sitting in my car trunk at
the airport long-term parking lot. I was supposed to stop by the FedEx office at the airport cargo area to drop

I have a Macbook I bought in the Summer of 2008 (not sure the model, etc.) I know it was the smallest memory (a.k.a. cheapest model) if that helps at all. I got a screen with a flashing folder/question mark this morning and everything I've read points to a hard drive failure. I did all the troubleshooting that Apple has on the website and nothing worked. I'm going to take it to the Apple store within the next week, but I was wondering how much Apple would charge to replace the drive. For the record... I'm NOT tech savvy at all, and I am not going to replace it myself... I know it's cheaper, etc. but it's not worth it to me.

The brand of hard drive isn't that important to me. They're pretty much all the same. As to size, whatever you think you might need. Look at the ones at Newegg.com. A large hard drive doesn't cost that much more than a small one.
Since your old hard drive died you'll need to start fresh after you've installed the new drive.
Drive Preparation
1. Start up from the installer disk (hold down the C key or hold down the Option key after you hear the chime) When you get to the Install screen select Disk Utility under Utilities on the top menu.
2. After Disk Utility loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list.Click on the Erase tab and set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) and click Erase
3. After it has erased click on the Partition tab in the Disk Utility main window.
4. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
5. Quit Disk Utility and install the Mac OS
