How much space is required by running statspack

I want to apply ths statspack against my database, is there a way to estimate how much space I will need to do this?

Around 100MB is okay. If you are keeping the history of your statspack result then start with 200MB and autoextend datafile

  • How much space is required to run Creative Cloud?

    How much space is needed to run Creative Cloud? I have a friend who has a HP - 15.6" Laptop - AMD E1-Series - 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive  and is wondering if he can run it on that. I have a Mac, no worries, no probs.

    Taa-daa the installation space requirements vary depending upon the Adobe Creative application you wish to install.  You can find a list of the system requirements at System requirements | Creative Cloud.

  • How much space is required on C:\ when installing Illustrator CC on a different drive?

    I have Creative Cloud > [Settings] > Preferences Apps > Installation Location set to a folder on a standard disk drive on my system that has oceans of space on it.  All of my Creative Cloud apps have installed just fine on it except for Illustrator CC.  Every time I try to install Illustrator CC I get an error message that says
    "Insufficient disk space to extract files.  Please clear space on C:\ and try again.(EX10)
    The problem here is that my C:\ is on an SSD so space on that dirve is kind of tight.  Even so, I started the process with more than 1GB of space free (if I had to guess I'd say 1.5GB) and now after the failure I have  539MB free.  How much space do I have to clear on C:\ to get my illustrator CC installation to actually work?

    Ah, yes, that's a good tip and basically did the trick for me.  I had already moved my other standard folders (Documents, Pictures, Music, etc.) off my C: long ago so I should have thought of moving Temp as well.  The one detail that took me a couple of tries to sort out, however, was that redefining %TEMP% doesn't actually help because (apparently) the Illustrator CC installation does not use it at all.  You really just need to redefine %TMP% and then it will work.
    Over the course of events I ended up restarting my system between redefining %TMP% and successfully installing Illustrator CC.  I don't know if that's absolutely necessary, but it worked for me.
    For the record, during the installation process I occasionally checked the size of the directory I used for %TMP%.  The value fluctuated more than I thought it would, but the highest value I saw was 4.5GB while the installer was extracting whatever files it needed from the download.  I think that represents some sort of lower bound on the minimum size you would need on C: if you didn't want to monkey around with the dark arts of environment variables.
    Thanks for your help!

    1)this you can check from your old backup size.add a little to it and that is your backup space requirement.
    2)if space is not there then failed backup is corrupt.other old backups remain intect.
    3)you need to shutdown database for copying folder or put data files in backup mode(id archivelogs are enable on database).
    4)you can check original database files dba_data_files,v$controlfile views and as point 3 is valid on them if you using copy paste rather then RMAN.
    5)when taking backup from rman use
    RMAN> RUN {
      ALLOCATE CHANNEL d1 DEVICE TYPE DISK
      FORMAT '/u01/backups/%U';
      BACKUP DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG;
      RELEASE CHANNEL;
    }In format clause you can give disk location.

  • How much space is required to reorganize a tablespace?

    10.2.0.3 database
    How much free space on disk is required to do an offline reorganize of the tablespace? Is it the amount of data in the tablespace or the size of the largest datafile?
    That is, if I have a 50Gb tablespace with 20Gb of data, do I only need 20Gb of free space on the hard drive or will I need 50Gb of free space.

    I wouldn't worry too much about a 'hole' in your tablespace. That hole is just a logical address .. it's not a physical gap on the disk. And even if it were, it is still space available to be used the next time some segment in that TS needs another extent. The only reason I'd spend any time trying to recover that space is if I were really (really, REALLY) tight on available disk space and really (really, REALLY) had to recover it for other uses. That would then involve not only getting everything moved to the front of the file, but actually resizing the file to release the space back to the OS. If you are OK with 10 mb (or 10 gb, or 1000gb) of free space within your TS, then it really doesn't much matter where within the TS it is. Especially if you are using locally managed TS.

  • How much space to backup my mac mini

    My mac mini was running on 512 GB's
    I've increased to 2GB
    How much space do I need to do a full backup before upgrading?
    I thought  2GB usb would be enough, but I obviously figured wrong....
    advice?

    "Backup" requires as much space on your Hard Disk Drive (and NOT your RAM Memory).
    Your HDD is probably something like 80GB? 120GB? 250GB? 500GB? - depending on how old it is, and if the hard disc has been upgraded.
    Select your hard disc drive (top right of your desktop? - often called "Macintosh HD") and in the Finder go "File:Get Info...."
    What does it say under "Capacity"?
    And you won't be able to backup to a USB stick - not big enough!  You'll need an external hard disc drive, like this:

    when I see the usage on my iPod touch 4 they have categories for how much space is being used where. What does the "other" category contain? Like what could I delete on my iPod to get rid of the "other" category?

    What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It
    An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.
    First try:
    "First you go settings/general/usage/music/then left swipe over music and press delete and you would think it deletes your music but it doesn't instead it deletes your other but make sure your ipod is connected to a computer while doing this"
    as recommended by:

    Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

  • How to find out how much space is left

    Hi,
    I know Oracle XE has a 4GB user data limit, and a 5GB overall limit. Using APEX you can find out how much space is left via the administration section.
    I'm going to upgrade to APEX 3.0 for testing. However APEX 3.0 will not show me how much space I have left since it's not explicitly written for Oracle XE. What query can I run to find out how much space I have left?
    Thanks,
    Martin

    The following should give you the same results as XE administration => storage :
    select total, allocated, 100 - allocated / total * 100 percent_free
    from (select 5120 total, sum(bytes)/1024/1024 allocated
    from dba_data_files
    where tablespace_name != 'UNDO')

  • How much space does JNI_CreateJavaVM

    Many of us who try to intialize Java inside another processes address space find problem with space, e.g., we get inexplicable ENOMEM's returned from the JNI_CreateJavaVM call. Apparently, the problem is that the VM needs contiguous address space. But, how does it determine how much it needs?
    Consider the solution in [S. Carlson's post|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5403763&tstart=0] . This solution looks for a contiguous block of memory large enough to hold the Permanent Generation (+-XX:MaxPermSpace+) space and the maximum heap (+-Xmx+) space. But it doesn't work. I'm guessing this is because the VM wants to put other stuff into that address space. My question is: What? And how do I decide how much space it wants?
    Conversely: What would happen if I iterate over the CreateJavaVM call, reducing the space requirement, until it worked? Would that work? I intend to try it, but I'm hoping somebody might tell me if it's a good idea before I waste my time.

    Conversely: What would happen if I iterate over the CreateJavaVM call, reducing the space requirement, until it worked? Would that work? I intend to try it, but I'm hoping somebody might tell me if it's a good idea before I waste my time.That won't work because CreateJavaVM sets a flag that indicates whether or not the vm creation can be re-attempted. In the case of ENOMEM, it cannot. The second attempt to call CreateJavaVM will return -1.

    How much space does a Windows 7 install take on a Mac?

    Installation of Windows 7 is required at least around 20GB of disk space 64bit version, 32bit version is around 16GB, 100GB is a sensible amount of disk space for a Windows installation, I suppose.
