How much storage capacity is needed on iPhone when using Match?

In other words, can I buy the smallest iPhone and assume
that my entire Library will be at the ready (assuming Match
downloads the actual file when needed) OR must my iPhone
capacity be equal to my whole iTunes Library?

Yep, you can get a smaller phone and download files away from home.

  • How much memory do I need for iPhone?

Before I purchase an iPhone 4s I would like to know how much memory I might need.  I will have some songs though currently I use only about 2GB on old iPod.  I will no doubt have some pictures and perhaps a video and, of course, some apps though I really don't know how many. I tentatively planned to buy 16GB.  My daughter is shooting for 32GB.  Suggestions and guidelines? Thanks

Hi, from what you have said above, the 16GB iPhone 4S seemsmore than enough space for a user with the outlined above, bearing in mind youdo not necessarily get 16GB, as there is the operating system and otherprogrammes that use memory, for example I have a 64GB iPhone 4S and it comeswith 57.42 GB or storage.
If you purchase a 16GB and you do seem to be running out ofspace, you can always back up your data to a computer and it can be deletedfrom your phone - meaning you have more space. If you are worried about havingthis problem 32GB will probably be the best option and will be more thanenough.
Hope this helps, any further questions feel free to ask, andI will try to answer them.

  • Is there a way to access iCloud to find out how much storage space I need to install music on iPhone? Genius Bar was not very helpful...

I have several questions I could not get answered yesterday...
Does the number of songs listed on iPhone represent music available on iPhone or in iCloud.
How do find out how much space of music you have in iCloud you need for iPhone to download all music?
Is there a easier way to get the music available in iCloud downloaded to iPhone without separately downloading each album separately?
Last question...if the music is not downloaded...does it get played at all when on wi-fi?

Both. If you have the setting to "show all music" set to ON you will see all music that is available. If the setting is set to OFF you will only see music that is stored locally on the device.

iTunes Match does not use your iCloud storage.

Music can be downloaded by Album, Artist or Playlist. Or you can disable iTM, sync music via USB, then re-enable the iTM service.

    Yes.

  • How much storage do I need on a MacBook Air?

Hi, I am about ready to convert from a PC to a 13 inch MacBook Air for work purposes. I have been a Mac user personally since the beginning. I will use this computer for email, word docs, some music and some photos. My PC says I have only used 40gb of storage ( but I have about 5000 songs on an external drive)- so my question is: would I be crazy to just get the 128gb flash drive or should I go for the 256? My company is on a budget, but they said they will get me what I need. I'm just happy to be going to a MAC for work, and don't want to get more than I need.
    Any thoughts or suggestions??
    Thanks!
    Sarah

An 8gb iPod can hold (give or take) about 2000 songs. So 5000 songs is about 16gb (give or take). Round it up to 20 to be on the ultra safe side combined with the 40gbs and we're talking 60gb.
That's more then enough room, really. It's surprising how little room things take up now--music, mail, documents, photos (I've got tons of photos), these really don't take up much space at all. Videos and games and big programs that deal with videos, games or heavy photoshopping is what you have to watch out for--these tend to take up a lot of space. Which is to say, if it doesn't look like you're going to be putting a lot of videos or games or heavy-duty programs on your computer in the future, then 128gb should be just fine.
I got the 128 11" Air about six or more months ago, started off using half the storage, and I'm only a little over half now. But all I put on it is documents, a new song now and then, a few photos. Most of the storage space is taken up by the programs I need which are writing programs and such--like Microsoft Office. And these are fairly modest in their demands. You don't say what work you'll be doing on this computer, but if it's a matter of doing numbers or creating documents and such, then don't be afraid to go for the 128gb.

  • I don't know what "Other" is when it shows how much storage is left on my iPhone, how do I find out to get it off?

I want to know how to figure out what the "other" is in my storage and how to get it off so it doesn't take up so much space on my phone. I do everything manually and I don't have many apps, music or pictures.

    Other data
Should only be about 1GB and larger than this may indicate corrupt data

I have a 2008 MacBook and need to install Snow Leopard to be able to connect with my ipad and iphone.

    DVD drive for installation

  • How much storage do I need on a new iPad?

I know, I know. It all depends on what you're going to use it for. So, hear me out on my situation.
I'm going to be spending a month in Germany/Europe and am primarily buying the iPad as a lightweight, easily portable entertainment object. I want movies on it for the long flights and train travel times that I'm sure will ensue. I also want to use the camera on it quite a bit (despite how awkward it looks to take pictures with the iPad) so there has to be enough room for some picture storage. There also has to be enough room for a few basic apps (facebook, twitter, etc. No big gaming ones).
So basically, I'm sure I could get away with putting like 5 movies on my iPad and being entertained enough with room for everything else, but it just feels so restrictive and I hate being afraid of running out of memory. So, would you suggest the 16 or 32 GB?
Thanks, guys! I would have asked this in an apple store, but there isn't one close by right now.

I recommend 32 GB because you are going to use a lot of storage (films, music).  You can also buy a 16 GB iPad, but you could have problems of space

  • I'm trying to update iOS 7 and it says I need 3.4 GB of storage to update.. I currently have on my storage 797 MB and 12,6 GB used. How much storage should it write for me to be able to update?

I'm trying to update iOS 7 and it says I need 3.4 GB of storage to update.. I currently have on my storage 797 MB and 12,6 GB used. How much storage should it write for me to be able to update?

If your ipad has only 797 MB free and it tells you that you need 3.4 GB to update, then you need to begin deleing files, whatever it takes to free up space.
    Consider...
    Delete apps you don't use.
Delete videos you don't want (these take up a lot of space).
Do you have a lot of emails stored on the device?
Are there apps that store data files, like a PDF reader?  If there are a lot of these, you need to delete some.
The bottom line is that you need to remove data and/or apps on your device to make more storage available.
But for videos and photos, always sync them to a computer first to archive them.

  • How much storage space do i need? 16, 32 or 64GB?

How much storage space do i need? 16, 32 or 64GB?

It really depends what u use ur iPad for, I have a an iPod4 so I don't need music on my iPad I just have apps and photos and only use 15 gb out of my 32gb, I don't store videos unless I'll be planning on watching them soon and I delete them straight after,  unless u really want ur music on I'd go for the 64 gb, but i sit comfortable with a 32gb

  • How much storage does the average photo on the iphone 5 take up?

I have a few questions about this:
    1. How much storage is it if you save it from a text message or from the internet?
    2. How much storage is it from taking a regular photo on the iphone 5?
    Thank you!

What do you mean "How much storage is it if you save it from a text message or from the internet?"  That makes no logical sense.  SMS is not sent via the Internet, they are sent via the cellular voice network.
The size of any SMS is miniscule and frankly irrelevant.  An MMS would have a larger size dependent upon what file is attached.

  • How much storage needed? or how do I find out?

I've been using Macs for years but feel as though I don't really know them well.
I'm upgrading my son's MacBook (white, mid-2009) to Snow Leopard and before I do so I want to back up the computer. I have a 500 gb external hard drive available (it isn't full but I'm not sure w
    My questions are:
    1) how can you find out how much space you'll need for a backup?
    2) what is the easiest and/or fastest way to perform the backup?
    Thanks!

Click on Macintosh HD and press Cmd-I.
Under 'used' it will tell you how much data is on the disk.
This is the minimum space needed.

  • How much storage units can be added in the single bin.

    Hi all,
Can anybody tell me how much storage units can be added in the single bin.
    Dev

    Hi Dev,
AS Prashant & Abhijit mentioned above the maximum storage units in a single bin is based on various factors such the putaway strategy & capacity check you have set for your storage type as well as palletization data.
Now in case of Bulk Storage which you have mentioned above, please go through the below F1 help for the block structure.
In bulk storage, you need to define for each block (or row) how many
storage units fit into the block.  For this purpose, you must define
both the number of columns as well as the maximum stack height.  *The*
product of these factors usually gives the maximum number of storage
+units and is determined automatically by the system.  However, it is+
possible to change the maximum number of storage units to a lower number
if the storage bin or the material features require this.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks & Regards,
