How much text can I cram into Contacts?
Ever been in the shops checking out the DVDs and think, "Uhhh... do I have that one, or not?"
Me too.
I have a WORD file which lists all of the DVDs I own. The Count tool states it contains about 7.5K of characters with spaces, on 321 lines. It'd be brilliant if I could keep this on my iPhone (8GB) somewhere. I'm thinking of creating an Address Book card entry on my G4 and just pasting the list into the bottom where it says "Notes." When I sync, it ought to appear on the iPhone in Contacts under that card.
Does anyone have a clue what the internal limit is for characters/lines/spaces - either in Address Book itself, or in iPhone??? Because I'm figuring there must be one.
Or is there an easier way I haven't thought of...
Many thanks!
Send the Word file as an attachment to an email to yourself - for an email account that you access with the iPhone's Mail client.
You can view Word, Excel, and PDF files attached to an email message from within the received message. Don't delete the message and you will have access to your Word document.
Begin a forward of the message to yourself - type one letter in the body of the what would be a forwarded message and then cancel the message. Select Save when prompted and the forward will be saved as a Draft - placed in your account's Drafts mailbox for faster access to the message and Word attachment.

How much RAM can I put into my Macbook Pro?
Here's my info:
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
I want to upgrade my RAM, as the computer is showing a bit of age at 3 years old now. I looked at this support page:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1270#link8
And judged the installation to be easy enough for me to do, but I'm confused as to how much RAM I can buy. The conflict I see is that "Additional notes" says I can use up to 8GB of RAM, but the table says only 4GB. What's throwing me off is basic math -- is that 4GB only referring to my slots (thus 4+4=8) or is it saying that anything over 4GB will not be recognized by my computer?
I spoke with someone at Apple, but he seemed a bit confused by my question, and eventually gave me a "yes" that was timid enough that I felt the need to post here. So, I'd appreciate the support! Thanks a lot, everyone. I'm just looking to not spend more than I need (in terms of buying excess RAM), and make sure I don't ruin my Mac in the process. The MacBook Pro 4,1 can acces a maximum RAM of 6GB
However RAM comes in 4GB modules and you have two slots, so you install 8GB (two 4GB modules) and can only access 6GB of it according to MacTracker.
Use the free Crucial.com site to make sure your getting the extact specified RAM specs, you can buy it anywhere if you like.

I'd like to know if there's a way to tell if I've loaded too much media into my premiere pro project?
I'm getting some interesting crashing issues and suspect it's because I've loaded a bunch of stuff into the project. I guess I could go through and start deleting stuff, but I'd like to know if there's a way to tell if that's the problem first.
I'm running cs6 latest 6.0.5. Macbook Pro i7, 16gb ram, 2tb external Gdrive storing media. I have cuda enabled.
Thanks a lot for any help!
GarettI copied text & paisted it and then draged the 3 photos from the file...then clicked on the photo then clicked the inline boxon tool bar nexed to floating one and that is how I did it
I do not know what you mean "cut & paist" how do I get the photo in from my picter folder if I do not drag it to the page in Pages?
I went to my photo folder and copied a photo and paisted the photo on the top left part of the page and it went there but there was no text to the right of photo...I could crop the photo to what ever size but no text to the right of photo...
This is just too big of a mess of a program as it should be easier then this,,,I hav e 300 photos in this project and would have to re-paist them all...that is nuts...
I see the button to the right of inline and floating that has 6 [lace to have the photo but the text does not float around the photo...
If this is what your talking about this very little freedom in my page layout as I need it to let me place it where I need it to be and the wrap the text...
There has to be an easier way to get my books ready for other formats other that Apple's iPad...iBooks Author was way eisier to make ready for iTunes...Love that program!!!
Want my books for sale on all the other formats and was told by Apple Pages whould do it...
I must be be out to lunch or the designers at Apple are ??? -

How much text can be displayed at one time on a 5th gen 60 gig ipod
I am going on a trip soon and have 2 text files that i am going to put in the Notes section on my ipod. Before editing those files are 64k and around 250k.
Which ones will fit? And what is the max size the ipod can bring up at one time? Both notes will fit, but only the first 4000 characters of each will be displayed; you can split the files at this site.

How Much RAM can I stuff into a 333MHz iMac?
The way I read the specs for the 333 MHz model, 128 MB is the max. RAM I can put in. Is that correct? What type of RAM am I looking for and who is a good source. There appears to be 32 MB installed.
I want to upgrade to OS 10.2 which apparently requires 128 MB of RAM. I think I need to do a firmware update first - to 1.2 - right? This iMac has CD-ROM tray in the front that pops out when you push a button. That's not what they are calling a slot-loading iMac is it? I'm not at all familiar with these older machines. My sister-in-law donated it for my kids use.
Thanks for your helpW.werker,
Niel is right. There are some exceptions as noted here:
http://lowendmac.com/imacs/rev-d-imac-g3-333-mhz.html
"RAM: 32 MB, expandable to 384 MB using SO-DIMM SDRAM (3.3V, unbuffered, 64-bit, 144-pin, 100 MHz or faster, 10ns) in two DIMM sockets (256 MB on top, 128 MB on bottom), top DIMM socket accepts 2" DIMM, bottom socket takes 1.5" DIMM
* The exact amount a Rev. A-D iMac can be upgraded varies from unit to unit. We have field reports of some models accepting 256 MB modules in both memory socket and reaching 512 MB - and other reports of early iMacs that won't work at all with 256 MB modules. There appears to be no way to know in advance whether a particular iMac will work with a certain sized memory module."
I actually had one that would take a 512 module in the top position. It wouldn't work in any other machine.

How much music can you fit into iTunes...
Hi
I've got an external hard drive with 1TB of music, in theory, could I import all of this to iTunes, then use an AirPort Express and stream it to my stero still?
So... Would iTunes be able to cope with 1TB of music in its library? There's a claim for a 1.8 Tb library here.

Is there a limit to how much text I can put in the scrolling sidebar widget in iBooks author?
Is there a limit to how much text I can put in the scrolling sidebar widget in iBooks author? I have recently tried putting about 3,500 words into a scrolling sidebar widget, and I can't seem to get all of the text into the widget. Thoughts? ideas?
There are button limits in the DVD spec (not just Encore).
DVD, 4:3 menu = 36 buttons
DVD, 16:9 menu = 18 buttons -
How much RAM can go into my Macbook Pro
Hey, I wanted to ask how much RAM can go into my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro I looked at this guide http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1270?viewlocale=en_US#link1 and it said I can only but In 8 GB I want to put 16 GB but was wondering if this would ruin my computer. I am asking because I have heard about 16 GB going into many Macbooks Thank you!
Here are my specs
13-inch, Mid 2012
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Is there a max number of names that can be put into Contacts
is there a max number of names that can be put into Contacts and still have the app work well?
Yes, there is. It's how many contacts your hard drive can take. So you can fill up the entire computer with nothing but contacts until your HDD/Flash has no space left. So if you have 250GB, it'd be less than if you had 500GB and you'd have more on 750GB.

How much music can I store on 4s 8GB (hrs or # tunes)?
How much music can I store on iPhone s 8 GB (# hours and/or # of standard length tunes)?
After subtracting overhead you will have about 6 GB available, assuming you have no other apps, no email, no text messages that you save, no calendar, no notes, etc. in 6 GB you can fit about 600 standard length (3-4 minutes) songs at 10 MB each. As you add apps and data this number will drop.

How much memory could I put into a HP ProBook 450 (H6P51EA) ??
Hello,
I am trying to choose notebook between this models:
HP ProBook 450 (H6P51EA)
HP ProBook 450 (H0V97EA)
HP ProBook 4540s (H5J79EA)
How much memory could I put into a HP ProBook 450 (H6P51EA) ?? (maximum memory)
It is difficult to find this information (It is difficult for me as I need to traslate from english.)
I read the http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/14588_div/14588_div.PDF , but there is no concrete information for H6P51EA.
Help me to find out with it. Where I can find this information?
It will be better if I will know max memory for each of the notebooks.
Thanks.I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

How many computers can be written into the access list?
I remember the old ABS allowed pretty many computers, much over the normal amount of 20. Does anybody know how many computers can be written into the new ABSE n?
Please be aware that MAC address filtering (access control) provides no security at all. All of the wireless traffic is sent unencrypted allowing anyone monitoring it to read your data.
MAC address filtering ONLY prevents unlisted MAC addresses from connecting to your base station. However the MAC addresses are broadcast between connected clients and the base station. Therefore anyone monitoring your wireless traffic can learn the allowed MAC addresses. After they learn an allowed MAC address, they can clone that address and connect to your base station. -
