How much time an LCD screen can stay on and displaying images?
Suppose I'm rendering on the new '27 iMac, how much time the LCD screen can stay on and displaying the same image? (Like the desktop, or a very slow progress bar).
And, if there is a difference, how much time it can stay simply on and showing differents images?
I have to use a screen saver? (but it consume some power to the rendering) If yes, after how much time? And what kind of screen saver, simply black screen or somethig animated?
I have to turn off the display only? (but this can conflict with some particular software...) If yes, after how much time?
Thanks.

How much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?
I would like to know, how much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?
I mean, you do doubles and then the are not that correct you record it again and maybe a third version and then you mix it, you cut and arrange some phrases and words so that it is in sync .....
How much time do you spent in this process until you say: This is enough! Because, somehow. you can always do more and try harder and do it again and try this ....
Thanks to all your comments

If it's taking a singer longer than that, they are not prepared, or it's just not their day
or theyre just so completely horrible to start with and have no business singing in the first place, hahahaha.
sorry jim, i couldnt help it:-)
the better paying and the higher profile the gig, theres really a gamut of singers youll encounter. theres a very well known pop artist i work with that honestly doesnt even get CLOSE to usable vocs until theyve been in there warming up for around 6hrs (takes them this long to get the four other very loud overtones in their voice down to about ONE very loud overtone), and you take takes on them just because you never know. (seriously, 6hrs) but you do it because it pays really well, whats a day of time when you get it back a few times over?? (btw, with this person, theres usually about 20-25 takes to go through when comping a voc, so make that TWO days:-( )
that would be my biggest gauge of how long i spend honestly, the money, unless i have a personal investment in it myself. youll know pretty quickly if youre in trouble or not with a singer. if theyre bad (pitch or timing) but paying well, i will rely on my skills in melodyne to save the day:-) i know what i can do in it and can hear what the singer can or cant do with their voice. sad thing is, the best singers usually arent the ones with record deals.
i know the money gauge prob sounds cold, but for the most part thats the deciding factor. of course there are times you come across real talent and take the experience of working and creating with them over the money, but MOST of the time in this 'business' we dont always have that luxury. plus if youre just starting out, i would take just about ANY gig just to be able to do it and gain the experience, you dont want a really important gig being your maiden voyage in melodyne:-)
i would also go with jims recommendation in melodyne. MD studio lets you use key commands to work (plugin doesnt) and its actually sounds better than the plug itself.
as far as mixing, i cant answer that, i usually dont mix. i will if im the last resort. i would be really discouraged if i couldnt get the mix in a day, with a relisten and tweaks the next day for a couple hours. i sort of mix as i go along just so i can hear everything in its place.
my 2 cents is done with now:-) -
How much time take this applikation?
Hello,
I want to measurement the time, that a part of my applikation take.
E.G.:
int i = 3+4;
I want to see how much time this part of code take.
And then I want to print somethink like that:
The applikation take 0.02 Milliseconds to summate 3 and 4.
Thank and Sorry for my terrible English :-)
Josef LthTheorethically:long time = System.currentTimeMillis();
int i = 3+4;
time = System.currentTimeMillis() - time; However, consider that these operations have a precision dependent on the OS you're running them on, and that Java itself is not good at real timing operations. I suppose "time" will always be 0, since that sum operation will take just nanoseconds or less on every kind of modern CPU. -

After I publish my video it just plays but there is no indication of how much time is remaining on the video while watching. How do I display this
It is possible, but you have to know 'time' is bit different, depending if you are talking about the 'editors' time or the real time spent by the the trainee. Have a look at this old blog post, that tries to explain:
http://blog.lilybiri.com/display-time-information
Time can show on the TOC (editors time), and if you have a playbar with a progress bar that gives some indication as well, but both for pure linear projects. -
can someone tell me how many seconds the cross fade is when running your Ipod 6th Gen nano in that mode? I teach spin class and want to know how much time I'm losing in that mode.
You aren't losing any time in that mode, but I believe it is a 10 second fade out/fade in.

Want to upgrade RAC 10.2.0.2 database (2 instances) to 10.2.0.5. DB size is 4 TB. Contains mostly .pdf files, reports. I do not have test/upgrade environment. How much time I can expect it will take?
How much the upgrade process depends of database size, in this case?
I have fast boxes IBM AIX 5.3 , 64 b.Appreciate your comments ...
Yes, sound stupid, regarding test environment, but in reality, is not that much:
-I do have "preprod" environment, (2 instances RAC) same releases of OS, OCW,RAC ... but DB size is 40 GB!!! It has all the objects as production, but (again but) it does not have physical standby, as production has. This is not that unusual, knowing that production DB grows very fast, and very large, and business do not want to keep preprod, dev, test databases same HUGE size as production is. Savings ...
-My DB upgrade depends if application running on top of it is certified for higher RDBMS release ... looks like they have some problems.
-Very encouraging sounds comment that DB upgrade does not depend that much of the DB size ...
- i do not recall from where this info came, but I have heard that R 11.* treats PDF files in different way that R10 did it ... and because of that, process of upgrading big databases which have many items of that type (pdf) can take very long. Any idea about this?
-Brian, thx ... I'm trying hard to provide DB simmilar size in UPG environment and face all possible pitfalls before I go in production...thx for youe advice. I'm relly interested in how upgrade to 11.* from 10.* traets my pdf-s ... All my TBs comming from pdfs. Everi advice will be wellcome ... -

How much time can i leave it turned on
hey i just got this mac and i'm downloading a software that weights 11,06 GB and i was wondering how much time can i leave it on...or do i have to turn it of and let it rest for a bit...i been going 3 days straight without any problems but im concern about overheating and so...thanks
I leave mine on all the time day/night and only sleep the display. I restart once in a while when installing updates. Yes the backside can get hot to the touch and that's normal. But it also depends on the environment it's in. You can download iStat Pro if you want to check the fan speeds and internal temperatures. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/27037

How much time will i take for the battery to drain, with white screen of death?
Yesterday I updated the software of my iPod touch (4gen), and today while using facebook I got the white screen of death. I tried to holding the sleep and home buttons but I didn't help. Then I tried to connect to iTunes but iTunes does not recognize my iPod. It seems that the only solution is to let the battery drain. My question is how much time will it take for the battery to drain (I charged it yesterday). Am I damaging my iPod in anyway?( I am worried because the back is a little hot). Should Ii try co cool it by placing it in front of a fan?
Yes it will show the low battery picture. Then I just connected it to my PC and restored it.
For the cold pack I used one of these gel-packs http://www.coldchaintech.com/products/gel-packs.php ( I had them at home).
I don't think using ice is a good idea here is why:
1. If you use an ice pack you should be careful to prevent water from entering your iPod.
2. Your iPod should not get colder than 32° F which is the minimum Operating temperature. And ice is colder than 32° F. -
My iphone5's camera is not working. The shutter freezes each time. How much time it normally takes to fix it.(i have an appointment this week). and if they can't will they give me a new iphone5 ?
Yes part of Apple Store
You will get a service replacement ,maybe new maybe refurbed to new standard
but in a "brown box" so no bits and pieces just unit for unit exchange
They will know of iPhone history from their systems but always
worth having proof of ownership but not essential (as far as I know ) -
How much time does 8.2 software have?
I've been reviewing software revisions for the Cisco ASA 5500 family. We have a few clients running 8.2 and the jump to 8.3 will require significant effort to make sure everything translates properly. There are no features in 8.3 that these clients require so it seems in their, and our, best interest to let them ride the 8.2 software until an upgrade is necessary to continue receiving security patches. I have looked for EOL notifications but have not found anything for 8.2. I have also placed an inquiry with our SE at Cisco, but I thought I would ask if anyone knows anything about how much time 8.2 has before we could expect to see an EOL notification.
Hi,
Here is some information related to 8.1 Software.

HW = Hardware OS SW = Operating System Software App. SW = Application Software
I can't seem to find the same for the 8.2.
Though I would consider that there are still alot of users happily going about with the very old PIX firewalls running software 6.x or even older. Not saying its a good thing but it work.
And considering 8.2 is the latest software before the BIG NAT change I would imagine it will stay in use for a long time for those that dont want to learn/adopt the new NAT format.

No, tap the screen briefly. If you hold your finger on the Now Playing screen - even for one second - the scrubber bar (with the time on it) will not appear.
Tap - the quickest touch you can do. -
While running the query how much time it will taken, I want to see the time
Hi Folks
I would like to know ... While running the query how much time it will be taken, I want to see the time? in WEBI XI R2.....
Plz let me know the answer.......Hi Ravi,
The time a report runs is estimated based on the last time it was run. So you need to run the report once before you can see how long it will take. Also it depends on several factors... the database server could cache some queries so running it a second time immediately after the first time could be quicker. And there is the chance of changing filters to bring back different sets of data.
You could also schedule a report and then check the scheduled instance's status properties and view how long a report actually ran.
Good luck
