How much time do you get on video on I pad

How much time do you get on video on the IPad 2?

Can't really answer that.  It depends on how much storage space you have. A 16Gb iPad will obviously have less space to store a video than a 64GB iPad.
The only limitation is your storage space.
At about 100KB per second you are looking at many many hours even on a 16GB iPad.

Hi I am thinking about purchasing an I Pad with 3 G to take on a cruise so I would not have to depend on the internet on the ship.  Is this worth It?  How much time would I have if I were to purchase 2 GB from Verizon?

  • How do I display time remaining in a captivate published video so the learning can know how much time is remaining in a video

After I publish my video it just plays but there is no indication of how much time is remaining on the video while watching. How do I display this

It is possible, but you have to know 'time' is bit different, depending if you are talking about the 'editors' time or the real time spent by the the trainee. Have a look at this old blog post, that tries to explain:
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/display-time-information
Time can show on the TOC (editors time), and if you have a playbar with a progress bar that gives some indication as well, but both for pure linear projects.

  • How much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?

I would like to know, how much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?
I mean, you do doubles and then the are not that correct you record it again and maybe a third version and then you mix it, you cut and arrange some phrases and words so that it is in sync .....
How much time do you spent in this process until you say: This is enough! Because, somehow. you can always do more and try harder and do it again and try this ....
    Thanks to all your comments

sorry jim, i couldnt help it:-)
the better paying and the higher profile the gig, theres really a gamut of singers youll encounter. theres a very well known pop artist i work with that honestly doesnt even get CLOSE to usable vocs until theyve been in there warming up for around 6hrs (takes them this long to get the four other very loud overtones in their voice down to about ONE very loud overtone), and you take takes on them just because you never know. (seriously, 6hrs) but you do it because it pays really well, whats a day of time when you get it back a few times over?? (btw, with this person, theres usually about 20-25 takes to go through when comping a voc, so make that TWO days:-( )
that would be my biggest gauge of how long i spend honestly, the money, unless i have a personal investment in it myself. youll know pretty quickly if youre in trouble or not with a singer. if theyre bad (pitch or timing) but paying well, i will rely on my skills in melodyne to save the day:-) i know what i can do in it and can hear what the singer can or cant do with their voice. sad thing is, the best singers usually arent the ones with record deals.
i know the money gauge prob sounds cold, but for the most part thats the deciding factor. of course there are times you come across real talent and take the experience of working and creating with them over the money, but MOST of the time in this 'business' we dont always have that luxury. plus if youre just starting out, i would take just about ANY gig just to be able to do it and gain the experience, you dont want a really important gig being your maiden voyage in melodyne:-)
i would also go with jims recommendation in melodyne. MD studio lets you use key commands to work (plugin doesnt) and its actually sounds better than the plug itself.
as far as mixing, i cant answer that, i usually dont mix. i will if im the last resort. i would be really discouraged if i couldnt get the mix in a day, with a relisten and tweaks the next day for a couple hours. i sort of mix as i go along just so i can hear everything in its place.
my 2 cents is done with now:-)

You don't.  Apple's warranty provides for replacing your device with an identical model (same model, carrier, capacity & color).
And you aren't getting a new iPhone.  You'll be getting a remanufactured iPhone, which has gone through a more thorough inspection than any new iPhone ever does.
If you want a newer model, then trade-in or privately sell your current device and use the proceeds towards purchasing another device.

  • How much usuage do you get with AT&T with the $25 plan?

Just used all our AT&T usuage plan in 6 days so now have converted to the larger plan.  Don't know how much usuage we would get with 2GB. Thank you. Does anyone know and any tips on using it?

Primarily, do not stream!  No (constant) Youtube, no Pandora, no Spotify, no Netflix.  A few minutes here and there are fine, but if you're listening to Pandora all day at work everyday, that is likely why you burned through your data.  Use streaming only on Wi-Fi.
Most often recommended: turn off cellular.  Use Wi-Fi as often as you can, then turn on celluar manually only when necessary.  This will prevent accidentally using up your data with things like your email client getting new mail continuously, but for some reason, you get disconnected from Wi-Fi.  This is what I do and while it sounds inconvinient, for me it's better to not have to worry about using data accidentally.
To illustrate, I stream from a radio station for about two hours a day, five days a week, during my commute (on the road so no Wi-Fi, and poor FM reception) and I end up using around 700MB a month.  That is audio only, so if I were using a video streaming app like StreamToMe, I can imagine easily using 20+GB per month with my usage habits.

  • How much usage are you getting per charge?

    Hello all!
I have heard stories from others about crappy battery life, so I decided to keep track of the last 2 charging periods to see how much usage I was getting per charge.
So far, I have had over 9 hours usage and over 2 days standby time on each of the last 2 charges. Probably 25% talk and 75% internet, email, iPod.
    How is your battery doing?

I had to reset my phone, because it shut off as I ran the ipod and left wifi on in my leather case and the unit decided to "chill" literally. Everything was back on 10 minutes later. That being said, with no meter to look at,
Today I made at least 20-25 phone calls, the longest about 15 minutes. I left my bluetooth on all day, with wifi on probably 5-6 hours. Throw in a good 2 hours of IPOD usage and about 20-30 minutes at diferrent times showing of the iphone to a couple vendors and a customer. My phone was in use for 12 hours(what I would consider pretty heavy usage) and I recharged this evening in about 3 hours.
I am pretty pleased with the battery time. Tonight a recharged the battery and had the little space left. After reading another post I unplugged the cord from the AC adapter and plugged into my macbook and synced it and I now have the green glow everyone is so eager to see.

  • How much space did you get after SL installation?

I am curious about the freed space on hard disk people got after installation. The reason is that I decided to check mine. Before I had 268.99 GB of free space on my 500Gb drive. With Snow Leopard installed I have 302.49 GB of free space now. Simple math calculations show that I got 33.5 GB (!!!). Is it just my iMac or anybody else experienced same relief?

Got a strange issue/bug with our networked XServe RAID since upgrading one of our macs to Snow Leopard yesterday. The SL mac claims there's currently 367 GB available on it, but all of the other Leopard macs report that it's 342! Which is correct?
Is this miraculous hard drive space you get back after a SL installation all smoke and mirrors..?
Aha - I should've read the whole thread and clicked the links! Looks like SL reports file sizes differently.

  • How much time do you spend on a shot?

Hi everybody, just was curious what is a standard time professional colorists spends with a shot, or is supposed to spend. Is there some expectation the colorist should accomplish, let's say 2 shots in a minute, in a professional world?

    Concur.
Whatever it takes. If it takes a long time: a) hope that: 1. client can: i) pay
    ii) appreciate the effort
    2. you can use the grade again as a copy
    3. its so awesome, its demo material
    b) double-check you aren't up a blind alley.
    c) consider moving on to something else and come back
If it takes a short time... are you doing enough? and why is this in color correction?
Seriously, there is a physical limitation to the amount of time that a colorist can spend on a shot and stay subjective -- its about 20 seconds. Its physiological, and its "color adaptation" and its an indispensable part of human vision. Not only does your eye-brain constantly adjust the Exposure Index of your retinal-register, its also changing the color-temperature. That part is called "constant color" and it updates your perception of what color things appear to be under different illuminations.
This is not the same as "metamerism" which is the phenomenon of different materials exhibiting different color renditions under differing illumination -- artificially-dyed hair looking lovely and blonde under incandescent but fluorescing green under halogen is one example.
A white sheet of paper under a desk lamp is still "white" to a human observer when it is held under a sodium street lamp at night, or at arm's length out in the park at noon in broad daylight. That is because your brain is taking care of it -- and this is particularly dangerous in grading.
It is one of the prime reasons why a user interface be as close to instantaneous as possible, and that the physical interaction between the grader, physical controls, software and display be invisible and intuitive. When the cycle of attention is broken, such as by looking back at a screen interface, instead of the image under correction, it can be good and bad. "Too much" detaches the colorist from the values, while getting fixated can be just as bad, and a glance away (at a suitably neutral interface or other display) can be beneficial to getting back to a subjective observational space.
So in summation, as far as benchmark clips/hour go... it has changed a lot now that NL grading is more prevalent. We are expected to go far faster, even when the work still progresses at the speed of human decision.
We used to think that generating media at a rate of 3:1 was good for "best-light dailies", loading film, getting a workable grade, syncing sound and laying it down to tape while logging the takes.
Grading an IP finished feature film was slotted into the schedule at 20 or so hours, give or take.
An A-List feature can take weeks.
An A-List international distribution commercial can take ??? minutes, hours, days....
But if you are in a shot for more than 30 seconds, at least go back to the shot previous and roll back in to see if you have the effect you want, and if its changing in the right direction, at least... then continue.

  • How many FLVs before you get problems?

I have built a small project in Captivate 4 (30 screens with 15 FLV files ranging in duration from 30 - 60 ; FLV sizes are between 3 and 6 mb).  I am encountering the following issue:
Course plays fine when FLVs are unsynched
FLVs "stutter" randomly when synched to project
The video was shot at 29.97 FPS but I have re-exported it at 30 FPS.  I also set preload to 100% and strangely this reduced the severity of the issue but did not fix it (I say strange as the FLVs should not be affected by the pre-loader)
Has anyone else experienced this issue?  My questions are:
How can I synch FLVs without stutter during playback
Is there a limt on the number of FLVs that can be included in an individual project?
Is there a limit on the total duration of FLV footage that can be included in a project?
Much zen and good wishes to all who reply (and potential consulting gigs!!!)
    Cheers

  • How much time on alternate methods of browser testing?

Here's a question for anyone who has done professional Web design on at least a part-time basis. I'm trying to help a friend decide whether to get an account with a company (browsercam.com) that lets you submit a URL and then see what it would look like using different combinations of screen sizes, operating systems and browsers. Apparently they use a "farm" of real computers to do this. It ain't cheap.
For those of you designers not using the above-mentioned company or anyone similar, what do you prefer for testing your CSS/HTML for compatibility with the variety of website visitors out there, including those with mobile devices - AND - how much time do you think you use this way in a typical year? Or month? The Dreamweaver Browser Lab? Testing it out on several computers you have access to? Sending the link to several people using different computers and smart phones? Something else?
    Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of screenshot services b/c a still image of one site page doesn't tell you much. This may be OK for quick layout checks but it isn't sufficient for usability and performance testing.  For that, you really must test in real browsers & devices.
I have current versions of the 5 major browsers installed on my workstation (IE, FF, Opera, Safari & Chrome).  Plus MyDebugBar's multi-IE tester for checking legacy IE.
    http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage
If you're specifically targeting a particular make or model mobile device, it's best to buy or borrow one.  Given the staggering number of models on the market, it's not possible to check every one.

  • How can you get 2 videos to play simutenously together?

How can you get 2 videos to play simutenously together so both are playing side by side on screen at the same time?

    Welcome to the forum.
As Steve observes, what you are talking about is called "PiP," or Picture in Picture.
He has given you the basics of creating a "split-screen" PiP, and that should be exactly what you wish to do.
For more detail, plus more ways to do PiP, I strongly recommend his book, Cool Tricks & Hot Tips for Adobe Premiere Elements 11, from Muvipix. He has an entire chapter (Chapter 10) on PiP, and many of its uses, with detailed instructions on the settings to accomplish it. Just that one chapter is worth the price of the book.
    Good luck, and happy editing,

  • I have downloaded video to iPhotos but how do you get the video to iMovies

I have downloaded video to iPhotos but how do you get the video to iMovies

In iMovie look in the Event Library. You should see an Event named "iPhoto Videos" (assuming the videos are compatible with iMovie).
Each time you open iMovie it will look for any new videos in iPhoto and place thumbnails in the iPhoto Videos Event. You will be given a choice as to whether you want the thumbnails generated now or later. The thumbnails will appear in chronological (date) order in the Event window. Note that the clips themselves are not actually imported to iMovie - they are simply referenced by iMovie (that is, iMovie points to the clips in iPhoto).
Drag clips (or parts of clips) to a project. To start a new project, select File > New Project from iMovie's menu.
Please ask if you need more advice. Otherwise, click on Help > iMovie Help in the menu. There you will find plenty of good information about how to use iMovie, including short video tutorials.

No, tap the screen briefly. If you hold your finger on the Now Playing screen - even for one second - the scrubber bar (with the time on it) will not appear.
Tap - the quickest touch you can do.

Sounds like you need a new battery.  I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to confirm.  Apple will replace the battery for $79.  A third-party place like the folloing may be less expensive.  Google for more places.
