How much time for Microphone Recording Nano Plus 1 g

Title asks. Can the NANO Plus Gig record from the Microphone for as long as 30 minutes?

Yes it can - I have recorded well over this in this past. I think it will carry on recording until it runs out of room which is a lot of hours!
Don't forget, it is only a voice recorder - it doesn't have a very good frequency range so music sounds muffled.

Incidentally... this is actually a limitation of the filesystem and not the camera. The SD cards are formatted using a FAT32 filesystem (same FAT32 used in MS-DOS) because virtually every computer currently in use can read FAT32 without requiring anything special.
FAT32, because of the way it works, can not allow any 'single' file to exceed 4 GB. If you need something bigger, you have to break it into chunks that are all smaller than the limit. This is true of everything that uses FAT32.
The good news is because they use this and it's an entrenched standard, everyone can read the data off the card without having to install any special drivers. Simplicity is the advantage... but the 4GB chunk-size limit is the trade-off.

Oracle Text Index taking Much time for retreiving records

Hi,
I an using the context based index on the table with the xmltype column and using the mentioned preferences, fuzzy, stemming and substring.
I m also using the INPATH and the HASPATH operators to search on the XML contents.
The total no of records in the table is 1,14,24,340.
When i execute the query on the table it is taking atleast 20 secs to return the results.
Could anyone suggest some method to improve the performance ?

How much time for Time Machine's first backup?

Hello,
I recently bought a 2TB external hard disk. I partitioned into one disk of 500GB (for storage), and one disk of 1.5TB (for a backup with Time Machine).
It's connected with the Firewire 800 port of my Macbook Pro mid-2010.
I know the first backup is slow, but after 30 hours, it has only backed up 67GB, over the 270GB it has to backup.
I find this very very slow, even for a first backup! Is it normal?
Does it slow the backup if I use my computer in the mean time?
Does it slow the backup to have partitioned my external hard disk?
I already took some folders off the backup, deactivated Spotlight on the external disk, all I found on the web! But it's not going faster...!

If you're doing a full backup (rather than an incremental backup), you'll have to copy 730 GB of files. If you only have 2 hours, that's 375 Gb/ hour or 106 Mb/ s, which is going to be more than a low-end NAS is going to be able to handle. If you have a 5 hour window, you'd be talking about 41 Mb/s, which is right about the disk I/O a low-end NAS.
At a minimum, you have to have enough disk bandwidth to handle the backup in your time window. In calculating your available bandwidth, make sure you account for the bandwidth other operations are using (i.e. if you are backing up to the same set of disks your database is running on).

I would like to know, how much time do you spent in Vocals Recording and Mixing?
I mean, you do doubles and then the are not that correct you record it again and maybe a third version and then you mix it, you cut and arrange some phrases and words so that it is in sync .....
How much time do you spent in this process until you say: This is enough! Because, somehow. you can always do more and try harder and do it again and try this ....

the better paying and the higher profile the gig, theres really a gamut of singers youll encounter. theres a very well known pop artist i work with that honestly doesnt even get CLOSE to usable vocs until theyve been in there warming up for around 6hrs (takes them this long to get the four other very loud overtones in their voice down to about ONE very loud overtone), and you take takes on them just because you never know. (seriously, 6hrs) but you do it because it pays really well, whats a day of time when you get it back a few times over?? (btw, with this person, theres usually about 20-25 takes to go through when comping a voc, so make that TWO days:-( )
that would be my biggest gauge of how long i spend honestly, the money, unless i have a personal investment in it myself. youll know pretty quickly if youre in trouble or not with a singer. if theyre bad (pitch or timing) but paying well, i will rely on my skills in melodyne to save the day:-) i know what i can do in it and can hear what the singer can or cant do with their voice. sad thing is, the best singers usually arent the ones with record deals.
i know the money gauge prob sounds cold, but for the most part thats the deciding factor. of course there are times you come across real talent and take the experience of working and creating with them over the money, but MOST of the time in this 'business' we dont always have that luxury. plus if youre just starting out, i would take just about ANY gig just to be able to do it and gain the experience, you dont want a really important gig being your maiden voyage in melodyne:-)
i would also go with jims recommendation in melodyne. MD studio lets you use key commands to work (plugin doesnt) and its actually sounds better than the plug itself.
as far as mixing, i cant answer that, i usually dont mix. i will if im the last resort. i would be really discouraged if i couldnt get the mix in a day, with a relisten and tweaks the next day for a couple hours. i sort of mix as i go along just so i can hear everything in its place.

You aren't losing any time in that mode, but I believe it is a 10 second fade out/fade in.

Determining how much time is left for HttpSession expiration

Is there any way to determine how much time is left for my session to expire ? What i want to do is, if there is no activity on some page for a long time, then according to the remaining session expiration time, i want to popup a message to the user that 'so much' time is left for his session to expire. If the user wish we can reset the session expired time to its initial value and the session continues.

Well, see, how are you going to do this even if there was a method (which there is sorta... you need to use getMaxInactiveInterval() and getLastAccessedTime() from session to figure it out yourself). What I mean is, how are you going to tell the user. The JSP can't call the browser to tell it anything, and when the user goes to another page, the timer is reset, so it'll never be below that limit after that request.
Actually, I can think of only one way, and that is to have a JavaScript code on the page and use setTimeout function to show an alert after the needed time expires.

How much time will i take for the battery to drain, with white screen of death?

Yesterday I updated the software of my iPod touch (4gen), and today while using facebook I got the white screen of death. I tried to holding the sleep and home buttons but I didn't help. Then I tried to connect to iTunes but iTunes does not recognize my iPod. It seems that the only solution is to let the battery drain. My question is how much time will it take for the battery to drain (I charged it yesterday). Am I damaging my iPod in anyway?( I am worried because the back is a little hot). Should Ii try co cool it by placing it in front of a fan?

Yes it will show the low battery picture. Then I just connected it to my PC and restored it.
For the cold pack I used one of these gel-packs http://www.coldchaintech.com/products/gel-packs.php ( I had them at home).
I don't think using ice is a good idea here is why:
1. If you use an ice pack you should be careful to prevent water from entering your iPod.
2. Your iPod should not get colder than 32° F which is the minimum Operating temperature. And ice is colder than 32° F.
