I recently dropped my ipod touch 4g by mistake and the screen cracked. the crack is pretty large and I was wondering how much it would cost to replace the screen. The screen still works fine, its just a annoying to see cracks eveywhere while using it.

I suggest you take it the Apple Store and allow them to look at it. The may be much more damage then you are able to see.

This is a kind of bad crack, but its not directly in the screen, so i cant tell you an exact price. if you want go to a local store who fixes devices or just go to the apple store. also its not like right throught the screen so you might just be better keeping it like it is. BUT again, if its the first crack you ever had on it there is a good chance they will fix it for free

I dropped my IPod touch 4th gen, on cement and it shattered the screen. the corner has the most craks and some of it has acually chipped. A big crack runs over my camera creating a big blur when I use my camera. I have had my Ipod for about 9 months. I need to know how much it cost to get it repaired and if I can get a better deal other places. i didn't get a warrenty for it.

Apple will only exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99, $149 or $199 depending upon the capacity. If you do not have the 8 BG on,e a third-party place like the following may be less expensive. Here is one place. Google for more.

Apple does not repair iPhones, but will replace the entire iPhone for a flat fee. If you have AppleCare+ coverage, the cost will low; in the US it's $49. If you do not have AppleCare+ on your iPhone, see the Service Pricing section here:

There are independent iPhone repair services that may be able to do the repair for less than Apple's out-of-warranty charge. Do a web search for "iPhone repair". Note, though, that if you elect to have the iPhone serviced by an unauthorized shop, all further warranty and support from Apple will be voided.

You posted in the iMovie discussion. You might get more specific answers if you post in the iMac discussion; however I searched there and did not see any info on replacement costs. I would just take it to your Apple store and get their estimate of cost. They may have a fee for assessing what else is wrong so you can see whether it is more costly to repair or replace.

Place the iPod in a sealed container with a desiccant for a week. Uncooked rice works. Change the desiccant every day or so for a week.
Do not charge or turn on the iPod until dry. Then try:

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
