How ndo get rid of tuneupmymac malware that loaded with firefox???

I downloaded firefox onto my new mac mini and got the malware tuneupmymac and reset search (with a cardboard box icon ).
I trusted Mozilla, didn't expect malware to come with it. How do I get rid of them? Putting them in the trash doesn't work.

hello newtom, i don't know where you've downloaded it from, but original mozilla builds form mozilla.org will never come with such crap or bundled software.

How to get rid of extra bar that comes with new update?

I am a huge Mozilla fan and have used FireFox for many years now. The new update messed up the way I had my browser but I found an addon that let me move things where I wanted them once again. There is one thing I have been unable to fix though - the empty bar underneath the tabs that stretches horizontally for the entire screen. I have unchecked the bookmarks toolbar, addon toolbar and additional toolbar, but whatever bar this is it won't go away.
I completely understand the need for the UI redesign and am not complaining.

As you can see, I like the minimalistic look and this bar is trampling upon that look. Once again I'm not complaining about the new UI, but will this bar be removable in a future update?

That's not an extra bar; it's the navigation toolbar that's always been there.

"MacKeeper" is a scam with only one useful feature: it deletes itself.
First, back up all data.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions.
If you have incompletely removed MacKeeper—for example, by dragging the application to the Trash and immediately emptying—then you'll have to reinstall it and start over.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Applications
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. You'll be prompted for your login password. Click the Uninstall MacKeeper button in the dialog that appears. All the other functional components of the software will be deleted. Restart the computer and empty the Trash.
☞ Quit MacKeeper before dragging it to the Trash.
☞ Let MacKeeper delete its other components before you empty the Trash.

You only need to post once. You have to have some patience. I posted this response in your other question as well.
Don't open those emails, swipe across them in the preview window to bring up the red delete button and use that.
If the mail app is frozen and you can't do anything in it, close it from the recents tray and reboot the iPad.
From your home screen, double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Good afternoon! I'm glad I can be here to help with this error. In the device this application is identified only as 'Talk', so that be more familiar to you. First I recommend opening the 'Market' app on your phone, then Menu>My Apps to see if this application requires an update. It will display a list on top of all applications that need to be updated. If nothing exists, tap 'Home' and go into 'Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Talk, then tap 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Data' to remove the history of that application and stop the notifications. The app will remain on your phone for future use, if you desire to take advantage of it. Read more about Google Talk here

How to get rid of file name that pops up with mouseover?

When a user is on my website and mouses over a link to another page, the name of that page comes up - for example, if I mouse over the link to the Mums Night Out page (while on the home page) the file name pops up (mumsnightout.html)
Any idea on how to get rid of that annoying issue?

I got an address from Applecare, although I can't place my hand on it right now. I didn't bother persuing the letter route myself as I didn't expect much. I know that the location was Cork, Ireland though as that where the UK Applecare is based as far as I'm aware. The best thing to do is to call Applecare (if it's free) and discuss the issue. State that you are not happy wit the fact that you will have to pay to have the problem resolved especiiay if it is an ongoing problem that has not been resolved. I ended up speaking to a senior manager of the Applecare team who then proceeded to tell me about mailing in my grievence to customer services division or something like that.
If I can find the address I may post it if I'm allowed.
In the case of age, Schools usually have a 5-year life-cycle as they tend to be used differently than consumer machines, i.e. being used constantly on a daily basis for at least 12 hours with no break. you would expect issues to appear after a few years, but I expect problems that arise through defects to be resolved and stay resolved. As I mentioned we had machines for around 2 years before the lines appeared and sent them to be repaired. I'm happy with that. What I am unhappy about is the fact that the problem has reappeared exactly in the same way and now I'm left with around 7 machines that I either pay loads to repair or, the more likely replace the machines with newer ones since the age is now big enough to warrant the replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy moan, but these are the reasons I purchased Apple ahrdware in the first place to avoid the "not our problem" stance some PC vendors usually take, similar to the Dell monitors thread mentioned in here somewhere.

How to get rid of the new bottom layer with piano roll etc. in arrange??

Just a quick question i suppose.
I work with 2 screens.
When I double click a midi event, i want the piano roll to open in a floating window, just like it used to be, and not in the new bottom layer (pop up) bar in the bottom of the arrange window. I want this because i like to edit on the second screen while still haveing an overview of my arrange on my 1st screen.
Does anyone know how to do this? Or perhaps know how to get rid of this new bar all together?

how annoying is it to go to a seperate screen set and then click a midi region just to edit it?
You haven't grasped the concept of screensets.
In the "old" way of working, in your arrange, you double-click on a region, which opens that region in an editor. You may have to move the editor position/size etc. You make your edits, and then close the window.
The screenset way of doing this is simpler and quicker. In your arrange, you select your region (one click, rather than a double click). You then hit a key command, lets' say "2" to switch to your editor screenset, which has the eitor or combination of editors you use, in link mode. As soon as you hit your 2 key, the editors will be recalled at the precise locations you specified, showing you the contents of your selected region.
When you are finished editing, just hit "1" to go back to your main arrange window.
Once you get used to this, you'll find it's a lot quicker and more efficient than all that rsi double clicking and window closing...

How to Get Rid of White Stripe At Top of Firefox Browser

I have the current version of Firefox installed. Recently, perhaps with the most recent install, I'm not exactly sure, a white stripe appeared at the top of the browser, right under the search and URL boxes at the top of where websites would normally show, a white stripe about a 1/2 inch thick has appeared. Not on every single site, google.com works fine, but for example, it blocks out the home, connect, discover and me tabs on Twitter. Or if you go to mozilla.com, the tabs at the top of the mozilla site briefly show, then are blocked by the white bar. You can't click on any of them, even if you have your mouse pointed at the right spot. You can refresh the screen and they'll briefly show again, but not long enough for you to click on anything.
I've run a number of search engine queries trying to find out how to get rid of this problem, but I'm only finding resolutions for webmasters, not for end users who have to deal with this problem on the other end of the browser.
Anyone know how to get rid of this nuisance? I'm about ready to uninstall Firefox because its useless on many sites with buttons and tabs on top.

I shut down all but one of the extensions, and that seems to have resolved the problem. Thank you!
Now to figure out which extensions I need, and which I don't, because I don't have a clue. I don't remember installing most of these, I only recall one or two (nothing looks spammy like funmoods, but still don't remember when or why these were added...)

A few days ago I down loaded something something off the internet and now my computer is going crazy with pop-ups and and redirects to different sites. I have tried to to reset all browser settings deleted all cookies hoping that would work but still no luck. Your question was posted in the Classic Mac OS (OS9, OS8 & System 7) forum, and if that is in fact what you are running, please clarify. Assuming you are running a recent version of OS X and not a fifteen+ year old "classic" Mac OS, anti-virus software is useless. Whatever you installed, get rid of it.

How to get rid of AdChoices malware?

I have reset Fierfox several times and cleaned up the file systems using Avast app. But the malware is still there and I get this unwanted adds popping up when I browse websites. My Macbook got infected when I downloaded a free software to improve video streaming and since than a nightmare with AdChoices started. I got rid of that free software but an extension called Cinema + Plus which was installed along with the free software remains in the Extensions tab. I disabled it but can't remove permanently because there is no remove button. Not even resetting of Firefox from Troubleshooting tool got rid of this extension. Appreciate if someone can suggest how to solve this issue. Thanks!

How to get rid of a malware program - iMunizator

I picked up a malware from somewhere and now I cannot get rid of it. Any suggestions.

iMunizator is a repackaged MacSweeper and is nothing but "scareware". First, run Activity Monitor and look for the "iMunizatorDaemon" process and force-quit it. That should allow you to quit and trash the iMunizator application. Then look in this folder:
youruser -> Library -> Contextual Menu Items
and delete the iMunizatorCMI.plugin file.
Finally, do a Finder search (Command-F from Finder), setting it to search system files - pull down the menu that says "Kind" to System files and set to "include" - for "iMunizator" and delete all the preference and cache files you find.
That should clear that junk off your system.

P.S. Note that the only way to acquire this malware is for a user to download and run it him/herself. It cannot spread to your computer by itself. So for the future, be very careful about what you download and run on your computer, particularly anything that purports to "scan" or "tune up" your system.

How to get rid of the 'greyness' that appears in a lot of windows

I'm using Arch X64 with Awesome window manager (stand-alone)
I'm experiencing some visual problems, that most windows I open, tend to have a greyish kinda theme.
Although I have lxappearance and I have a lot of themes, even if I change those, that greyness just, don't go away.

How to get rid of full screens that won't go away.

I was using my MacBook Pro with my tv through HDMI. I made a window full screen on my tv ( I was using Blender 3D software and the window on the tv was the same application I had on my screen). When I unplugged the HDMI the full screen window on my tv went onto my MacBook. The problem is that the window from the tv is now full screen on my computer, and there are no options in the tool bar to minimize it. When ever I open this file that window pops up along with the window that was on my screen. It creates lag and I need to get rid of it. I need this file. Please help!

There are 3 ways to exit a fullscreen app:
Escape key
Command+Control+F
Hover the cursor at the top of the screen until the menu bar drops down then clcik the Arrow icon on the top right.
Have you tried plugging it back into the TV?
