How o I get the Motion 5 Deinterlace Filter into FCP X?
In a video on the web (see picture), the Motion 5 Deinterlace Filter is shown in the FCP X Inspector.
How do I get it there?
Ian R. Brown wrote:
… When I publish it I only get the name and no parameters in FCP X.
How do I save them?
in M5, when you hoover over each parameter's far right, a tiny triangle appears:
then, the context menu offers you the 'publish parameter'-button ('Veröffentlichen' - forgot to switch to English before screenshot....)
apply to each parameter you need in FCPX

how do i get the music from my ipod into my itunes library on new computer
If they are all purchases from the iTunes Store you can transfer the purchases from your iPod to the library by following the steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848

ibooks author, how do I get the standard book pages background into my document. I have published one book so far which does not display with a book pages background or options for font size.
No on the book title, no problem there.
The issue is: my book pages appear as on white paper, no background that resembles a open book and also no option to change fonts. The book was created in iBooks author, there was a problem going with the "Publish" menu route so I was instructed my Apple to "export" the file and submit that. I think that's the problem after reading that iBooks author is a hybrid epub file.
Thanks for getting back to me. -
Old laptop crashed - how do I get the music stored on iPod into new laptop?
My old laptop crashed so I cannot follow the instructions for moving my iTunes library to a new computer because I can no longer go into my old iTunes and switch it to manual update and enable disk use. How can I get the music stored on my iPod into my new iTunes? I have a 60GB iPod video. Thanks
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
TuneJack Windows Only
iPod2PC Windows Only
iGadget Windows Only
iDump Windows Only
SharePod Windows Only
iRepo Mac and Windows
iPodRip Mac & Windows
YamiPod Mac and Windows
Music Rescue Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows
There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay. -

How can I get the old CS3 pixel aspects into CS5
Hello,
i'm trying to get the old cs3 pixel aspect ratio into cs5. I don't need the hyper-correct- BBC 1.4587 for DV widescreen which leads to black bars left and right if I import HD footage into a SD widescreen timeline. Or if I export a HD timeline to Encore and downconvert to a SD PAL DVD - black bars...
I have asked the adobe support, and they told me to change the Interpretation Rules.txt. But they have no further knowledge about these entries.
For AfterEffect I found this solution: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3016005#3016005
But I need it also for Premiere and Encore. Photoshop will be fine, but this is no must.
What I Have tried so far:
- changing the interpretation rules.txt from ... 768/702... to ..768/720 -> doesn't change anything
- I copiued the whole interpretation rules.txt from Premiere CS3 -> doesn't change anything
- I deleted the interpretatio rules.txt and reboot premiere -> doesn't change anything and premiere don't ask for the missing file.
now I think that the interpretation rules.txt is not the right place to change the Pixel aspect ratio.
can anybody help me? Is there a patch, which change all these settings in the whole cs5 production bundle...
thanks a lot
Johannes
btw: sorry for my bad englischHi J-MS
of course is PP interpreting my footage very well in terms of the cs5 PAR. but I want the PAR of CS3 becouse of the black bars left and right.
One example step by step:
- I render an AE Comp in 1920x1080
- import that into premiere and create a HD timeline which fits perfectly to the footage
- send this to Encore and create a PAL DVD
---> now you will find these ugly bars left and right
the same if you put the 1920x1080 (that is truly 16/9) in a dv Pal widescreen timeline in premiere ( since CS4 with the PAR of 1.4587). right-click on scale to frame size. and again the black bars!
For me, the old PAR 1.422 and 1.06 worked really fine and there for I try to get them back. and I know that I'm not the only one.. -
How do i get the music on my iphone into my itunes on my new mac
i have a ton of songs on my iphone and i just bought a new mac that i want to use as my base itunes library. how do i move th songs from my iphone into my itunes library?
Transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer along with all other important data you will need or want to access on your new computer.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, and iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. -
How do i get the music on my iphone into the cloud

iCloud is not iTunes, if you want your iTunes library available on the phone for downloading, you need to subscribe to iTunes match. ICloud is a sync service for mail, calendars, contacts etc etc. -
How do I get a Soundscape (Logic Pro X) into FCP X?
I want to create a Soundscape to use in FCP X but I can't get the Soundscape to record anything to export.
This is because I am completely clueless on using Logic Pro X.
I have downloaded a YouTube tutorial based on Logic Pro 9 but this app seems to bear little or no relation to X and the tutorial is meaningless (to me).Hi
"Soundscapes" are a new 'genre' of software instrument Patches in LPX
To the OP
You'll need to record or step enter some MIDI note events in Logic. When you are happy with the results you can Bounce (or Bounce replace) to get an audio file that you can import into FCP.
You might also be able to make use of the FCPX xml export function. -
My itunes library is empty on my new computer, but I have a full library on my ipod. How do I "reverse" sync? I don't see an option in itunes to put all the info from my ipod onto my computer. I see it the other way, which would then erase all the data on my ipod. Help!!
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer is designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

My HD crashed, how do I get the content on my Ipad into Itunes
I lost my itunes folder with all of my content; however the Ipad still has the content is there anyway to get it back to itunes? This includes movies, photos, etc.
You can copy iTunes purchased content via File > Transfer Purchases when connected to iTunes. For content not purchased from Apple then have you not got a backup anywhere ? If not then you could try searching for third-party programs that can copy them off.
For photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer. -
