How old is my display? I bought it used, wonder when it was made?

I bought a used 23" monitor, and I was wondering....
Since these things have been around for almost four years now, I wonder if anyone out there can tell me how to find out if the model I have is three months old or three years old. It's not that important to know, but I am curious.

Sounds to me like you may have gotten a machine with hardware issues, but it's hard to say. It will shut down if it gets too hot, but that's not a normal occurrence. I have never seen a MacBook Pro shut down due to heat, even after lengthy 3D gaming sessions where the fans are running fast and the bottom of the machine is unpleasant to touch.
First thing I would try to do is reset the SMC. If that doesn't help, erase the hard drive and reinstall the system from scratch, which you should always do with a used machine anyway.
If a fresh system doesn't help, you'll need to get it checked out by Apple.
Edit: Oh, and sig is absolutely right... please don't post in all caps! It's very irritating.

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.

How do you create a stand alone application using DAQmx when your application SCXI hardware isn't on the computer I am using to create the application? The DAQmx assitant won't allow me to create a task with hardware that isn't in my system.

You will need to have at least the DAQ device in your computer to add the chassis. When you add the chassis, don't auto detect the modules. You will have to add the terminal blocks and tell MAX which SCXI module will be connected to the DAQ device. Just make sure you don't test the chassis, when its not there.

Apple said my five months Mac Air has liquid damage inside and I need to pay more than $400.

How do I update iTunes Apps bought in one country when I move to another?

All my Mac gear was bought in Singapore where I lived for years - hardware and software including iPhone apps. When I retired to Australia I changed stores. I've been irritated for a year now as I have 15 apps bought from the Singapore store which refuse to update via the Australia store. How might I overcome this hurdle? Any ideas, please?

Report: 4 apps were unable to be updated. A couple appear no longer to have active up-dates, e.g, iFitness.
11 apps were downloaded successfully. Only 2/11 showed the prompt: You already have purchased this. Download again?
This means that I have been forced to buy 9/11 that I previously owned. 3-4 had slight name changes, I noted. The biggest annoyances were having to pay again for: X-Plane 9 (A$12.99) and 1Password ($14.99).
I shall now return to the iTunes complaints page and 'Report a Problem' to see if they will assess my complaint favourably.

How do I synchronize display with printed colors using the Calibration Syst

The windows headed "Determine your display's native response..." seem confusing to me in the use of "match" and "neutral" matching of the backgrounds using the apple shape and adjacent sliders.
I have accumulated several settings and may have tampered with the original one which I would like to go back to.
The printer is a Canon iP6000 and produces great pictures off my Win XP machine whose native calibration I never had to change. Thanks for any help.

How to Stop Safari display of links in hover bars when rolling over pages?

Sure, this may be a feature, but it is a nuisance. I often go to web sites, e.g. staples.com or officedepot.com that have catalogs of products in which each image can link to a particular product's page. They usually have a little more info about the product that pops up during hovering over the image(s). Only problem is that you can't see what THEY display because something like "Great GPS device for $..." gets covered over by a yellow test hover bar display from Safari insisting on you knowing that the link will take you to to "http://officedepot.shoplocal.com/officedepot/Default.aspx?action=browsepagedet ail&storeid=2478180&rapid=515623&pagenumber=1&listingid=-2091997555"
I can't find an option to disable this ugly hover pop-up "feature" in Safari.

HT201364 I'm not certain if my Mac Pro was made in early 2008. How can I find out when it was made?

Like many video editors, I am eager to upgrade to the new FCP 10.1, but I'm not sure if my Mac Pro can run Mavericks (a requirement for the FCP 10.1 upgrade). The Apple page states that Mac Pro's made in "Early 2008" should be okay, but how can I tell before diving into the upgrade? I can't afford to buy a new Mac Pro right now.

Thanks for the assistance! Turns out my venerable Mac Pro was manufactured in 2007, so Mavericks (and FCP 10.1) will have to wait until I buy a newer system.
