How pass parameter to a Page
I have created link (item style : staticStyledText and CSS Class : OraLinkText).
I add destination Uri like
OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/...../webui/xxxPG&partyNumber={@PartyId}&partyName={@PartyName}&retainAM=N
when i am checking value in New Page , I am not able to get values
What may reason behind it.
What are other ways to pass parameters?
Getparameter is straight forward way to get paramter on a new page processReuest()
String mypartyname = pageContext.getParameter("partyname");
Other approch is , use the PPR on the specifi item , such as icon or button or ur message style tex by setting 2 things
1) Set action type = fireAction
2) Set the Parameters at this event , which you can get in processFormRequest()
as show below.
if ("newPageNavigationEvent".equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
String p1 = pageContext.getParameter("partyname");
String p2 = pageContext.getParameter("partyid");
HashMap pageParams = new HashMap(2);
pageParams.put("partyNumber",p1 );
pageParams.put("partyName",p2 );
pageContext.setForwardURL("OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/...../webui/xxxPG"
null,
OAWebBeanConstants.KEEP_MENU_CONTEXT,
null,
pageParams,
true, // Retain AM
OAWebBeanConstants.ADD_BREAD_CRUMB_NO,
OAWebBeanConstants.IGNORE_MESSAGES);

Pass parameter through standard page "import xml content and actions"
Dear Portal experts,
As you know, a standard portal page is configured to allow the import of XML file. It is located in the portal in the path system admin -> transport -> xml content and actions -> import
I configured a quick link u201Cimportu201D to the page so now the link http://myserver:port/irj/portal/import allows me to access directly to this screen.
What I would like to do now is to pass the parameter related to u201Cfile nameu201D through this screen meaning that I would like that http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/filename=C:\test.xml fills automatically the fields u201CXML fileu201D with C:\test.xml
Please do you know how to achieve this ?
Thank you very much and regardshi,
@Maksim :
When user launch an URL like http://myserver:port/irj/portal/ import/*filename=C:\test.xml, he is requested to provide username and password; as this link is a shortcut for the upload xml page, there is a check of authorization and only portal admin that have authorization and permission on this page/iview will be able to upload xml file through the URL. Hope this clarify.
@Kumar :
thank you for your answer. What a pity to not be able to pass parameter through standard portal page/iview particularly knowing that we can pass paramater through many kinds of iviews (transactional iview, url iview, VC iview...). I explored some option on file com.sap.portal.ivs.init.par but this was unsuccessful. However, thanks to this [link bellow|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/ComponenttouploadXMLfilewithPCD+objects], I was able to upload through URL the XML file.
The problem is that I can upload only XML file that are stored in the server not in the local user computer. My requirement is to be able to upload local XML file stored on user's computer.
If someone could provide and idea/solution, I would be very grateful.

Pass parameter to apex page via the URL
Hi, I need to pass a parameter into a page that will be used in a query inside a report region,
e.g report region query is
select link_id, page_id, menu_parent_id, link_text, link_url
from portal_pages
where page_id = :page_id
So the page will display different links depending on what value is passed to the page in the variable.
I know with normal URL syntax it would be something like
http://www.domain.com/page.html&page_id=1 (where page_id is a hidden variable in apex)
but how do I do this with an apex page like :-
http://host:port/pls/apex/f?p=123:9 <what goes here ? and what goes in the page for it to work>
Any help appreciated - noob to Apex
Thanks
Phil.If your item to be used in the url is P1_Page_Id, the
url should be something like:<br>
http://host:port/pls/apex/f?p=123:9:page_id:&P1_Page_I
d.
Thanks for comments, understand the syntax of the apex URLs now, got the item sorted in the page now, all working. -
Pass parameter FROM webcenter page TO dropped portlet
Hi All,
I have created a webcenter page
I have created a ADF remote portlet
I have regsitered the portlet as producer under webcenter page "Connection"
I dragged the portlet on webcenter (jspx) page.
now, my design requires that, i should be able to pass the paramter called "Country URL" that is available in webcenter page's backing bean TO this dropped portlet's SRC tag of IFRAME.
is it possible to pass paramter FROM webcenter page's backing bean TO SRC of IFRAME inside dropped portlet ?
If yes, the how will src refer to webcenter backing URL parameter ? ( like binding ...............)
yhx
ddThe idea stays the same in WebCenter. The technique i have described above does not change when you use ADF portlets.
There are only a few steps required:
1) Create the parameter in portlet.xml
2) assign the parameter to your portlet (also in portlet.xml)
3) deploy portlet
4) create a page parameter in webcenter on the page you are dropping the portlet on
5) assign the page parameter to the value of the portlet parameter
That's it.
Notice that the link in the above post of me (from 2010) is about JSR 168 portlets. Since WebCenter PS3, webcenter supports JSR 286 and some things change like you do not need to create the parameter in the oracle-portlet.xml anymore. You can easily do this in the portlet.xml
This is a more up to date post: http://yonaweb.be/inter_portlet_communication_jsr_286_and_webcenter_11g_ps3 -

Passing parameter between jsp pages
Hi
I'v got the following problem: I have an jsp page that shows result of sql query as a list of 5 items, if there are more items returned - it shows first five, user is able to see more by clicking to a link which shows him the same page with next 5 items etc. The piece of index.jsp file with that link looks like that:
<html:link action="<%=(String)request.getAttribute("actionMod")%> module=... name=... styleClass=...>and at the end of initSearchAction I have:
req.setAttribute("actionMod","initSearch.do");Action is defined:
<!-- action for product list -->
<action path="/initSearch"
type="...list.InitSearchAction"
name="productListForm"
validate="false"
scope="request"
unknown="false"
>
<forward name="success" path=".search"/>
</action> .search is defined as
<definition name=".search" extends=".main">
<put name="body" value="/list/index.jsp" />
</definition>The problem is when I set a paramter in initSearchAction like that:
req.setAttribute("handle",h);and try to read it next time when initSearchAction action is running, parameter h is null. I need that to pass handle to stateful session bean that holds important information that need to be static during a session. Can anyone tell me how to pass that handle in some other way?
regards
anianow it works :)
I'm new to this things so I'm not familiar with all those sessions and requests...
thanks a lot

weshah79Dear thanassis
Thanks for you help ,your code is working successfully but my case is the following :
same your main jsp page but the subview tag in table :
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1256"%>
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" prefix="h"%>
<%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" prefix="f"%>
<%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces" prefix="af"%>
<%@ taglib uri="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/html" prefix="afh"%>
<f:view>
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type"
content="text/html; charset=windows-1256"/>
<title>main</title>
</head>
<body>
<h:form>
<afh:tableLayout>
<afh:rowLayout>
<afh:cellFormat>
<f:subview id="header">
<jsp:include page="header.jsp" flush="true">
<jsp:param name="pageTitle" value="Modify aa record"/>
</jsp:include>
<f:subview>
</afh:cellFormat>
</afh:rowLayout>
</afh:tableLayout> </h:form>
</body>
</html>
</f:view>
try it the parameter dose not work ,but if you want that code work successfully move the subview out of the table.
Do you know what is the problem ?
i want give you another hint maybe it is realted to the same problem, which is in my original page the body tag is adf tag ie(<afh:body>) your code dose not work with that tag until i changed the afh:body to html body.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks ahead!You can get the sample code for your answer here:

Download sample code with title:
Passing values between pages
Or alternatively your can keep the customer_id in the session during ActionForward then passing back the value into a textbox in page 2.
Code in ActionForward:
request.getSession().setAttribute("customer_id", value);
Code in UIX Page 2:
<textInput text="${sessionScope.customer_id}" name="code2"/>

Passing Parameter to jspx page in URL
hello all,
I want to know if it is possible to send paramters in jspx url . And if it is , then how can we acess those parameters in the backing beans . I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3
My link is http://10.11.5.5:8989/WF_APPS/faces/LoginPage.jspx and i would like to send a paramter cid with this url . How it can be done .
Is http://10.11.5.5:8989/WF_APPS/faces/LoginPage.jspx?cid=100 way of sending parameter is correct .
Please helpHi,
the problem is with the lifecycle, which may include multiple request/response phases using ADF Faces. So what you need to do is to define a managed bean method on the page's f:view for its "afterPhase" property. In the method, you can generate it automatically using JDeveloper, you check for the PhaseId. The PhaseId you want is RestoreView. In this phase, you need to copy the requestparameter to a memory scope that outlives the duration fo a single request. So you would do
HttpServletRequest request=(HttpServeltRequest)FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequest();
String strvalue=request.getPerameter("id");
if(strvalue != null){
AdfContext.getViewScope().put("id",strvalue);
The value no becomes EL accessible using #{viewScope.if} or by using Java
Frank
Ps.: View Scope requires PageFlow (Task Flow) and AdfContext requires ADF to be configured. If you use none of them, use session scope instead -
Passing parameter between OAF pages
Hi,
Im calling a custom page from a button destination URI property.
OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/ont/orderstatus/webui/INT_SUMM_PAGE&HeaderId={!HeaderId}&retainAM=Y&addBreadCrumb=Y
When I use {!HeaderId}, null value is passed
When I use {@HeaderId}, '@HeaderId' is passed as such.
What is the difference between two formats?When you specify URL parameters in your declarative page definitions, you can specify both literal and token-substituted values that obtain their data from associated view object attributes at rendering time
{!Attr} - encrypts the attribute value while leaving the {!} in the URL (for example, OA.jsp?...&ssn={!SSN}&...). Using OAPageContext.getParameter("ssn") will return the decrypted value.
{@Attr} - encodes the attribute value while leaving the {@} in the URL (for example, OA.jsp?...&addr={@EmpAdd}&...). Using OAPageContext.getParameter("addr") to get the parameter value will return the decoded value.

Passing parameter between JSF pages
I need to pass a parameter value between 2 different JSF pages.
The reason I need to do this is to be able to know which JavaBean (A or B) called the other JavaBean (C).
Can I somehow set a parameter within the JSF page and retrieve it in the second JSF page for my backing bean to read?
Thanks in advance.A co-worker of mine helped me fix my code to make it work!
Here is the final solution in case someone else needs to do the same thing in the future:
In the main JSF page that calls the second JSF page, the following code was added at the beginning of the page in the JavaScript section:
<% session.setAttribute"className", "CcmReassignEmployeeBean");
And in the Backing Bean of the second JSF page, the following code was used in the action listener used to transfer the data:
HttpSession session = (HttpSession) context.getExternalContext().getSession(true);
String className=(String) session.getAttribute("className");
It works great! Thanks!
