To make the change from MobilMe I will have to update fro System 10.4.11 to 10.7.2.  How many firmware and system updates will I have to make

First, see if your system can run Lion:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html
If you have any PPC apps, none of them will work under Lion.
If you meet the requirements for Lion, you can go to Snow Leopard(US $29), then update to 10.6.8, then update to Lion(US $29).
Apple says 2GB's of memory minimum. I wouldn't update to Lion unless you can run at least 4GB's.

  • How many paired and active devices will bluetooth on IPad 3 support at a time ?

How many (Paired and Active devices) will Bluetooth on the Ipad 3 sopport at a time?

Actually that is not quite true. Bluetooth is limited to one connection per device profile. That is to say you cannot have two bluetooth headsets actively connected at the same time, but you could have a bluetooth headset and a heart rate monitor, as the hrt monitor and the headset would be using different profiles.

  • How application server will take more database connection than specified

    Hi,
While configure the datasource we have specification's/properties for
            1)Initial Connection  (for ex. 1)
            2)Maximum Connection(for ex. 120)
But we donot know how the SAP Server will take the connection after it reached to maximum connection, There is not propery which tell us to to create new connection.
Can anyone tell me the process to increment the connection's or how the server behave after it will reach to maximum connection.
    Thanks,

SQL server cannot accommodate 50k update statements simultaneously from 50k sessions. As others have stated, the physical active session limit of the platform is ~32k, and if you genuinely want that out of the box with load balancing on a single db at that
kind of scale then sql server 2008 r2 is the wrong platform.
For what it's worth, Minimum memory overhead per connection will help you work out what your minimum memory requirements are. Note that it's variable dependent
upon the network packet size, which is partially a configuration question, partly one of instruction (byte size of actual db interactions) and finally the size of the actual workload being generated by the session.
Number of processors, and indeed what their capabilities are, that's entirely up to you. To facilitate such a high number of connections concurrently in all honesty I think your network stack is a bigger concern. There is no single golden configuration
for SQL Server, certainly not something that could win a pub quiz with the details provided. While it would be possible to design a theoretical configuration on paper without resorting to building the tin, I can imagine the numbers you come up with might be
a little difficult to build. Just ask Amazon!

  • Making a powerpoint presentation movie and knowing it will play in all comp

Guys i was hoping i could get some help with this issue. I am new to mac.
I am making a powerpoint presentation which i plan to have made into a movie throught the power point software. I sent it too another computer of mine that doesn't have quicktime on it. It did not work on that one even in windows media player, which i thought would be the case. I know with power point when you put a presentation onto a disk it will ask if you want to save power point viewer so that it can be seen if they have power point or not. Has quick time got something similar if not are there any suggestions.
    Your help is much appriciated
    Cheers

  • How MS/MRP  and Oracle ASCP will work for Manufracturing for a Item 'PEN' .

    Hi All,
I am having oracle MS/MRP and Oracle ASCP.
I want to manufrature item as PEN. All items are buy items
Can any one tell here how MS/MRP & ASCP will work to manufrature a pen.
What will be the flow of these 2 modules?
    Thanks,
    Edited by: user11362919 on Jul 9, 2009 1:11 AM

    Hi
If I understand your qn correctly you are asking about a writing pen ?
Lets say it has parts like pen body, refill, top and cap all these items will have ''buy souricng rules''.
Based on demand for the end item ''Pen'' AsCP will explode BOM for the Pen and suggest supplies as planned orders for the components , which can be converted to Std PO or BPA release automatically. All that MRP module could be of use to you is to define Forecast demand for the item.

I already installed the USB 4750 driver and runtime engine in the machine I will be running my executable. How do I incorporate the Advantech DAQ VIs to my executable. They are showing as dependancies on the Project exlporer. Need some help on this.

  • HT4236 Is there a way to limit how many photos and songs iCloud will sync to my iPad... it is always full and I'd like to set a limit.  Thanks!

i'm very frustrated with iPhoto please help...

Are you using iTunes Match or syncing through iTunes on a computer? I do not use iTunes Match but it is relatively easy to maintain content on an iOS device through it's sync settings in iTunes. iCloud itself does not manage content on an iOS device but adding on the paid iTunes Match will only manage music. For the most part iCloud just keeps certain data, such as Notes, Contacts, Calendars..., in sync between iOS devices and/or computer.
To manage Music and Photos syncing from your computer connect the iPad to the computer and open iTunes. Click the iPad's, or Device button in the top right section of iTunes. You will see the the different media categories along the top where you can select Photos to manage what iPhoto syncs.
There is also many options in the Music and Video tabs to customize the media syncing to the iPad. It is generally best to create playlists in iTunes and sync selected playlists to manage a large music library.

When the server tries to write to the socket and verify that it is OK, then it will return an error.

  • How an aplications sever will communicate with  Oracle RAC?

Hi, I wonder how the applacations server will communicate with the two nodes Oracle RAC. Do I have to install an Oracle client to the application server and configure tnsname.ora file to connect with the nodes?
Have any one any experience to share and help me?

That depends on the driver being used. Here are some examples for the JDBC connections
    url="jdbc:oracle:oci:@TNS_ALIAS"
    url="jdbc:oracle:oci:@(DESCRIPTION=

If you are going to use FAN and FCF you may want to take a look at the following white paper.

  • 11.1.1.5 Presentation Server won't start automatically

Hi, gurus. Interesting problem with 11.1.1.5. 4 of 5 OBIEE services start automatically. Presentation Server doesn't. An excerpt from sawlog0.log is shown below. What's odd is that even though it fails when starting automatically, we can go into Fusion Middleware and start it manually - no problems there. So it can start, and from that point everything works great, it just won't start along with all of the other services.
    Any ideas?

Alas, although out-of-sync GUIDs fit all of the clues, that wasn't the answer.
The problem still exists. Here's the relevant portion of the opmn.log file.
These first five sections represent an attempted start of all services in Fusion Middleware by clicking Start All
Request 1fa starts the BI Server successfully.
Request 1fb starts the BI Scheduler successfully.
Request 1fc attempts to start the Presentation Server but fails.
Request 1fd starts the Java Host successfully.
Request 1fe starts the Cluster Controller successfully.
So the Presentation Server will not start automatically as a part of Start All.
However, manually clicking 'Start Selected' for the Presentation Server (request 236 below) starts the service. So the short version is that we can start it manually, but not as a part of Start All.

  • Batik SVG Toolkit in Presentation server

How Presentation Server uses Batik SVG Toolkit? I believe that Corda PopChart can generate SVG charts by itself.
    From documentation:
The Javahost service gives Oracle BI Presentation Services the ability to use functionality provided by Java libraries. It supports the following components:
              * Chart generation (Corda)
              * SVG renderer (Apache Batik)
              * Java tasks support for Oracle BI Scheduler
              * Oracle BI Publisher
    I found batik.jar in /web/javahost/lib/sawrpccalls/batik
The question is related to this posts:
SVG charts in Firefox and Google Chrome
Re: i-pad does not render OBIEE charts/graph

Thread dump gives hint that socket connections between Weblogic and LDAP became unreponsive.
    Would suggest following
    o Restart Weblogic Server
o Monitor LDAP server for potential long running ldap search queries.
If above doesn't help, do netstat -a for more details about socket connections. It may help to understand if network communication is an issue or not. Involve n/w engineer if it needs.

  • How much ram and processing power in my imac will meet my graphic design needs?

    Hi,
I'm in the market for a new imac. I'm trying to figure out how much ram I'll need and which processor will be sufficient for my graphic design needs.
I'm gonna need it to be robust enough to have InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator open at once along with spotify, safari with many tabs open, and a couple other apps including evernote and game from time to time. Also, I'm gonna be managing a good deal of fonts in font explorer. How much ram and processing power will I need in my imac to keep everything snappy with all these apps going at the same time?
Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Feel free to include any other relevant information you think I should know.
    Thanks, Nick

Computers are out of date when you open the box
Ok, getting serious, that iMac should be a viable workhorse for what you want for a good five years, and taht depends on how much ram you put in it, add really fast external storage, and so on.
Didn't throw this in earlier so as to not influence the discussion: my daughter is the senior art director, VP, at a graphics design firm in NYC.  Has been in the business for a number of years.  When she changed out her Mac at work, bought, or company bought, the 27" iMac model just before the latest, with maxed out CPU/GPU, and storage.  They maxed the memory to 32 GB for her, then added a 30" Apple cinema display so she has almost 5' of display in front of her.  There is nothing she cannot have open all spread across that display area.  She works almost exclusively in print media, occassionally condescends to do web stuff.  And has a massive array of RAID drives hanging on it.  But that is a setup an individual would be hard pressed to go with.
At home she uses a MacBook Pro with top cpu and display but that is all.
The point, just how massive do you want to go depends on how fast you have to work; in the office where time is money you need tons of horsepower.  At home, you scale it to your abilitty to juggle other tasks at the same time.
I think your choices have been great, the discussion has focused on what is important and especially what can and cannot be changed in the future.
Best of luck setting this up.

  • How do Server process and cliend process communicate ?

    Hi
When a client session is started, the client contacts the listener (running on a port - 1521, let us say). The listener creates a Server process to server the client.
Now how do the client process and the server process communicate. I mean does the server process run on a seperate por( Just as the listener runs on a specific port).
    Can someone plese clarify.
    Thanks,
    Prasad

Have a look at this note:
Oracle Connections and Firewalls [ID 125021.1]
When the Oracle client makes a connection to the database e.g. (sqlplus userid/password@alias), it compares the alias name supplied in the sqlplus line and looks for a match in the TNSNAMES.ORA file or Names server. Once it obtains the address for the database server, a connection attempt is made to the server from the client. The Listener is contacted on the database server and port redirection can take place depending on the platform, configuration of the INIT<SID>.ORA file and/or the Oracle product being used. The underlying network layer on the server will obtain a free port from the Operating System (OS) and send back to the client via the Listener the new port assignment. The client will then try to connect to the database on a new port. This is where connection failure normally occurs.
A remote Oracle client making a connection to an Oracle database can fail if there is a firewall installed between the client and the server and if port redirection is taking place. The firewall will block the connection to the new port when the Oracle client connects to the database - the client typically fails with Oracle errors ORA-12203 or ORA-12535. The client connection failure is due to port redirection from the Database Server's operating system. Port redirection requires the client to connect to the database using a different port than originally configured in the configuration files. Oracle Multi-Threaded Server (MTS) on Unix platforms, (without specifying the address with the ports in the INIT<SID>.ORA file), Oracle Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Windows NT/2000 platforms will cause port redirection.
