How print high rez halftone pattern

Hello,
I'm looking for a way to print at around 200 lpi with a laser printer, but I don't know which one.
I've bought a Laserjet Pro 200 n251mw but it doesn't seem to be able to print in halftone even with the PS emulation.
What printer (sub 500$) could help me achieve this kind of resolution ? I'd like to be able to reproduce the distinctive rosette pattern on one of my collectible playing card.
I've looked everywhere on google, but most of the doc about halftone is referring to low lpi work like T-Shirts.
The fact is that I can produce the desired halftone pattern I want in Illustrator, I just can't seem to find a way to print it.
I've read about Xerox printers on this forum that are maybe able to do it, but I don't know.
Is a 600 dpi laser printer enough or do I need more ?
Here's a sample of the halftone I want to reproduce, the canvas is approximately ¾ of an inch.

Said another way:
Halftone dots vary in size to suggest grays. You desire a 200 LPI halftone screen ruling. 1/200th inch, center to center.
But your printer only prints dots of a single size. Typical laser printers print 600 printer spots per inch. 1/600th inch, center to center.
Halftone dots are built up from printer spots.
Is a 600 dpi laser printer enough...?
Not even close.
At a halftone ruling of 200 LPI, a 600 SPI printer would have a grid of only 9 (3x3) printer spots out of which to build each halftone dot. So it could only print nine different sizes of halftone dots. In other words, it could only simulate 10 different gray tones--9 levels of gray, plus one for white. For what is considered normal "full range" reproduction of your image, you need to be able to print 256 levels of gray.
So even if your print driver would accept a 200 LPI setting, your print would be horribly posterized.
And that's not all:
I'd like to be able to reproduce the distinctive rosette pattern on one of my collectible playing card.
The printer spots of laser printers are little fuzzy-edged globs of toner powder attracted to the printing drum by static electricity. They are not the comparitively far more sharp-edged shapes that a laser can burn into a photo-sensitive emulsion on a plate or on film. You're not going to get sharply-shaped halftone dots from from a laser printer.
What printer (sub 500$) could help me achieve this kind of resolution ?
Not gonna happen. Not even in the same state, let alone the same ballpark. Fact is, laser printers are very low resolution devices.

How to export a large, high-rez Keynote'08 file as a QT movie?

I have used Keynote '08 to create a 1.6GB presentation, 1024 x 768 resolution, 940 slides of stills and animation clips, navigatable hyperlinks on every slide. It plays and navigates perfectly well in Play mode.
The presentation would of course be most effective if I could export it as a single QuickTime movie - 1024 x 768 resolution. But I have not been able to do this, either on my own or with help from Apple employees at an Apple retail outlet. (I cannot remember whether we tested Keynote '08 or '09 at the store)
The best I've been able to accomplish is to break the presentation into ten parts and export them as ten QuickTime movies at a reduced resolution of 800 x 600.
I've been able to create a full length single movie - but only as a web-sized lowest quality (H.264) QT movie - in which the hyperlinks work but the slide captions cannot be clearly read.
This interactive education presentation would be so much more effective if I could export it as a single high-rez QT movie.
So I am searching for a solution to this problem, if it indeed exists using Keynote '08 or '09, and feedback/educated opinions from Keynote users who have encountered the same problem. Is Apple aware of this limitation? Might Apple address it in Keynote '10 whenever that arrives? Is there additional software available that could solve this problem?

I want to be able to watch my 1080p work on Apple TV in the best quality.
The TV device is limited to max of 720p playback. While the TV1 did have an option to scale content for output as 1080i or 1080p, this was discontinued with the TV2 since 1080p native HDTVs will automatically rescale the negotiated input as/if needed for proper viewing. To maintain compatibility with the TV1 device, Apple presets will export 720p content only if the source file is larger than or equal to these dimensions and the frame rate is 25 fps or less. They will not allow you upscale smaller dimension files. Thus, your 1080p source files will be exported as either 720p24 or 540p30 files depending on the source frame rate. If you have an TV2 device and wish to ensure a 720p30 output, then use a free third-party app like MPEG Streamclip or HandBrake. Both have TV2 specific conversion options.

Currently I am using z,zzz,zzz,zz9.999 Display pattern for Quantity Field. If the value is blank it is displaying as 0.000 on the Screen. But I don't want this to be printed.
Please help me how to solve this ASAP.

Hi,
Alternatively you can handle it in the context.
In the context area, click on the quantity. In the bottom, click on the conditions tab, and put a condition
<quan field> NE initial.
So the field will not be printed if there is no value.

Creating a custom halftone pattern.

I'm trying to create a halftone pattern using a custom pattern. I have tried the bitmap route, i.e BITMAP/CUSTOM PATTERN but this just tiles the pattern at a fixed size varying the thickness depending on the shade. I need a halftone pattern that scales.
Does anyone know how to do this?

James Talmadge has an impressive Script that does this, albeit in Adobe Illustrator, named »Faux Halftone«.

Its application is somewhat time-consuming and it provides only semi-automation, but I consider it remarkable non the less.
Plus being in Illustrator one can »randomize« the resulting instances of Symbols by globally applying Effect Distort & Transform Transform, for example enter an Angle and set to Random, if one wishes.

Printing high quality certificates in captivate

Hello!
I am trying to print a certificate that I created in PhotoShop and inserted into CP7.
It looks amazing on screen, but prints out horribly. I have tried fooling around with different file types, jpg, gif, etc. And I tried increasing the DPI to 600, but nothing seems to be working.
Is there a way to print high quality, non-pixilated slides from Captivate? If not, does anyone have a work around for printing certificates that look nice?
I also wanted the user to simply click the print widget one time and have the document already formatted to landscape & the highest quality - but I'm stumped on if that can be done..and how to do that?

ya: be4 imposing a booklet first export a Pd f(high quality) place it back in indesign if you are using indesign from Cs3 to 4 you can use the script to place it for you and then imposeor make inbooklet 2up

Simple halftone patterns in Photoshop CS5 - I've done it before but cannot find it again

Hi all,
I'm using Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS X. Last year I created an artwork including colour half tones, but also some other simple halftone filter that I applied to layers of solid colour (see attached image - you may need to view it at 100% to see what I mean)
It's a simple half tone pattern of white vs 1xcolour using either circles or squares. I remember that this was applied simply, not any special process as I didn't go out of my way to create this effect I just stumbled upon it. I can't for the life of me remember how to do it again. Has anyone else come across this? If anyone can point out how it's done that would be much appreciated.

The Filter>Sketch>Halftone Pattern seems consistent in getting the square pattern, but very inconsistent in getting circles, as you mentioned.
You could make your own pattern or see if one of these pre-made patterns work.

Want to do 4:3 ratio, high-rez (1440 x 1080) for IMAX test...??

How can I do a custom 4:3 ratio frame with high-rez, like HD (but get the 4:3 ratio)?
I'm doing some test animation sequences for an IMAX film (ratio 4:3). I'm hoping that we might be able to do a very high resolution version 4K - 8K if this first test works. I've been told that with the new Radeon card one can do this.
Meanwhile, I'm finding that if I try to set a high resolution 4:3 in Motion, it seems to think it is anamorphic and is messing with the frame... (and the graphics I'm importing).

I futzed around with it a bit ... and was able to get a very odd 4:3 HD-esque QT. I'm going to need more than a laptop to mess with this stuff I think...
Actually, Motion was handling it remarkably well for this little 2G RAM job. I'm impressed. Now if I can find a magic codec to reduce it back down to SD - they are editing all the live-action footage in SD (amazing how good SD looks when the source material is IMAX) ... and these animation sequences have to go on that timeline for now.

How do I move a pattern layer independent of its vector mask?

I've created a pattern fill layer and assigned a vector mask to it. How do I move the pattern around without affecting the mask? I realize if I want to rotate the pattern I'd need to convert it to a smart object, but if I only need to adjust the pattern location there must be some way to do that without moving the vector mask along with it. A traditional layer shows the vector and raster mask layer with a lock icon, but fill pattern layers are different for some reason. Can someone "fill" me in?

That is not what your showing above in red above your showing a shape layer in CS6 a pattern fill layer with a vector mask is a cs6 shape layer. Halftone Pattern not working

When I select a layer that has an image (I am going along with a tutorial on the Kelby Training site) and I am using all the same settings as they are in the video, when i get to the Filter Gallery > Sketch > Halftone pattern the view goes all white. Nothing. I can shoose others and they work but I do notice that many do not. What is going on here?

Both of your color chips in your tool box are set to white. Press D to set them to default black and white.

Recoloring a halftone pattern in Illustrator

Hello, I have a question regarding changing the color of a halftone pattern created in Illustrator. Here is what I do step by step: 1) fill the expanded text with a black and white gradient 2) apply Effects>Pixelate>Color Halftone 3) expand the halftone pattern 4) use Image Trace on the halftone (with "Ignore White" selected) 5) expand the vectorized halftone pattern. So far, so good, but when I select the halftone pattern and try to change its color the whole block around the halftone gets recolored (not the halftone pattern itself). Here is a picture:

More items are being selected than needed. There is an often overlooked tool that can help you.
Double click on the magic wand tool to change the settings, (you can turn on stroke color also so less times are elected) then click on one of the black filled circles with the magic wand to select black filled paths only.

To the left of the 1 key, right below the esc key. Has the ~ and ` on it.
That key has ° and ¨ on it on my keyboard and it doesn't work.
But I found it by holding down the < key (to the left of Z).
So now I can rotate etc. patterns manually after about 3 decades of doing it numerically through the dialogue :-)

if u r defining the variables for the address manually,
then u can define all the fileds in a single line in the edit mode of address window u will get the address in the single line only
if u r using the standard format
modify the address format by using the user exit:
"EXIT_SAPLSADR_001"

or in the least case u can use the address window setting to change the format and lines

If it is a security issue, you will probably need to implement a custom dialog and actively filter for file types. No matter what pattern you have showing, the user can type a pattern into the dialog and get anything they want. In addition, file extension is not sufficient to determine file type. You should probably check the file itself to ensure it is an HTML file and does not have any embedded nastiness.
Fortunately, custom dialogs are easy to make. Using the event structure, you can filter inputs as well, so that only HTML files will be accepted. Good luck. Let us know if you need more help.
