How recent is the aperture places hybrid picture?

Does anyone know how recent the picture is or how often they update it?

That is hard to say. The areal imagery and satellite imagery used is a patchwork mosaic of many pictures, since no satellite can take a synoptic image of the complete globe at the same time. And due to clouds obscuring the view, it can take several months to obtain cloud-free pictures of some areas.
If you scroll in "Places" view, you'll see that there are boundaries between the patches.
The Places view, where I can see my own house, is at least 5 years old. And the picture showing the place of our department at least two years.

  • Without to change the setting.how to set the decimal place to 7 for an UDF.

    Without to change the setting, how to set the decimal place to 7 for an UDF?

    Hi
    Once you create a UDF it will automatically be binded to the data source of data type that you gave at the time of creating UDF.
    So i think you can not set the decimal places without changing the setting in display parameters.
    i am not sure whether it will work or not one thing you can try is that create it as a alphanumeric data type and convert your decimal value to sting and then assign it to UDF,While retrieving for any manipulation you convert it as decimal.
    Hope it helps you

  • How can i have aperture restart loading pictures from my camera.  2 weeks ago aperture was perfect.  thursday aperture stopped loading new pics from the same camera.  have done library rebuilds and permissions to no avail.  about to trash aperture.

    How can I get aperture to restart loading pictures from my camera?  2 weeks ago; my camera (nikon D60) and aperture worked well together.  last saturtday Aperture would not upload some new photos taken that day.  I recieved an error message stating the photo files were not uploaded.  The apple store staff was no help at all this time( they usually are very good)  should i delete/trash the app and start over?

    A bit confusing if the import window never opens, yet you receive a message that states the photos were not imported. Maybe being a little more step by step will help us figure this out:
    You plug your camera into your computer using a USB cable.
    Either Aperture is already open, or it opens automatically when you plug the camera in, or you open Aperture.
    You click on the Import button? But the import window doesn't open?
    This is where it is getting hazy for me. I'm assuming either the import window opens automatically or you click the import button. Either way you say that Aperture indicates that your camera is present and again, I'll have to assume you mean that it is present in the import window...
    Do the thumbnails from the camera appear? Are you able to check the images you would like to import? When you click the import button is when you receive the message that Aperture did not import the images?
    Let us know what is going on so we can get a better understanding. Thanks.
    Thank's for the respones.  Found out that Aperture runs great on at least 2 gig of ram.  Just installed 4 gig.  All of my issues have vanished.  Moving on the the next day.

  • How to edit the date of a picture or album?

    So, my camera reset itself at somepoint and the date was all wrong. Ofcorse, i dint realize till i took about a thousand pictures and then imported them into iPhoto...
    Now i have my pictures all over the place. Pictures from 2008 appearing in 2005 etc.
    How do i change the dates of individual pictueres and/or albums? Hope someone can help.
    I am using iPhoto 'O8 - version 7.1.3
    Cheers

    Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
    iPhoto '08 (version 7.n.m) has two ways to do this
    If the camera date is working but set wrong so all dates are off by the same amount select the photos or events you want to correct and use the photos menu ==> adjust time and date - this will calculate the correction from the first photo and apply that correction to all selected photos
    If the dates are just wrong then the selecting the photos or events and using the photos menu ==> batch change ==> date and time will set an arbitrary new date and time for the selected photos - optionally adding a set increment to each successive one
    The help menu may have more information on this process if you need it

  • How to restrict the decimal place of a floating point number?

    Hi,
    Here is my code:
    public void TwoDecimal(double u){
         String w = Double.toString(u);
         int c = w.length();
         System.out.println(c);
         if (c <= 5)
            double a = Double.parseDouble(w);
            System.out.println(a);
         else
            System.out.println("Invalid input!");
      }I want to show a floating point number which has 2 digits and 2 decimal places, e.g. 45.82, 29.67. This number is input by user and passed as a parameter.
    For those case like the above sample floating point numbers, it can display the proper value of 'c'. e.g. 45.67 will display 5.
    However, when I passed 99999, it will show 7; 9999 will return 6, not 5.
    So, if the user does not input the '.', does it append 2 implicit chars to it? i.e. 99999.0 and 9999.0. So, that's why it returned 7 and 6 for the length of the string respectively.
    How can I fix it?
    and
    Does it has better algorithm?
    Pls advise.

    When dealing with a known precision, in your case hundredths, it is often a good idea to use an integer type and add in the decimals on printing only. This is often the case in banking systems. Almost all of them use integer types, (read long) in pennies to store monitary values. Ever seen someone type in a value for a credit card machine? For something like $20 they press.. "2" "0" "0" "0" The machine knows the lowest denomonation in a cent, so it knows where to put the decimal place. I suggest you do something like this. It also helps to avoid base 2 round off errors.

  • How to change the format of a picture?

    I've saved a picture that I got from Twitter. The end of the picture file says ".jpg-large".
    This file will not open in Preview, nor in iPhoto which are the two apps where I knew how to change the format.
    Could anybody help me out in another method of changing this picture format?
    Thank you

    Rename it to end in .jpg.

  • How to make the color of one picture to be the same as another one

    I want to change the orange color of this button:
    to the dark blue(at the top) of this logo,
    How could I do this? I am not that familiar with photoshop, please show me the detailed steps if it is possible, thanks

    Hi there
    Below are instructions on how to recreate the gradient effect of the orange button using the dark blue color from the logo. It is difficult to change the color of a flattened gradient like the one in the orange button. However, recreating the button is a fairly simple process.
    Step 1: Open both the button and the logo in Photoshop.
    Step 2: Go to the logo image and select the Eyedropper tool from the tool bar, highlighted below. Then, click on the dark blue color in the logo.
    Step 3: Go back to the button image and go to your Layers Panel. Create a new layer using the icon highlighted below.
    Step 4: From the tool bar, select the Paint Bucket Tool, located directly below the eraser tool. If you don't see it, click and hold on the gradient tool and a submenu should pop out. With the Paint Bucket Tool selected, click on the canvas area to fill it with the dark blue color from the logo.
    Step 5: Create a new layer from the layers panel using the same process as Step 3.
    Step 6: Click and hold on the Paint Bucket Tool and select the Gradient Tool from the tool bar, as shown below.
    Step 7: At the top of your window, you should see the Gradient Tool menu. Select a transparent linear gradient, using the settings highlighted below.
    Step 8: Click on the dark bue color swatch in your toolbar to bring up the Color Picker dialog box. Drag the white circle in the color field to the upper left corner to select white. Click OK when you are done.
    Step 9: Now you can apply the gradient by clicking and dragging up over the button. Hold the shift button on your keyboard as you drag to create a perfectly vertical line. To create the gradient below, I started from just outside the canvas area and stopped around the middle of the button. This might take a few tries - if you mess up, hit control-Z (Windows) or command-Z (Mac) on your keyboard to undo.
    Step 10: Now that you have your gradient, go to the layers panel and use the Opacity slider in the upper right hand corner of the layers panel to reduce the opacity of the gradient.
    Step 11: Now you can delete the orange button layer by selecting the layer and clicking the delete icon shown below.
    There you go! Now you can save your button and use it as you'd like. If you ever need to change the color, just select the dark blue layer and use the paint bucket tool to fill it with whatever color you want. Below I have included a side-by-side comparison with the original orange button.
    If you have any further questions or need clarification, just ask!
    Good luck!

    Hi,
    change the Format property of the ValueAxis-Line to 0.00

  • How to make the Installer place support files in specific folder

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use the LabVIEW2009 installer for the first time. I haven't used any earlier ones, so my understanding is limited. I have created a project and an executable and wish to direct the installer to place some groups of files in a number of directories other than the one in which the executable goes. On the Source Files page I can see a number of Folder descriptions in square brackets. I don't understand how to use these. Are they to be set up to point to specific directories? If so how?
    So far I have managed to create an installer which puts all the support files from the project in a single directory. My attempts to select a subset of files within the Project View window and place them in a separate directory were not allowed since they are treated as an indivisible group. Basically i don't know enough about the installer and my searches for information have only yielded very basic information.
    If anyone can help by supplying or pointing to more detailed information I'd be most grateful.
    Thanks
    George
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi George
    This is from the LV help:
    Destination View—Specifies the location and directory structure of the files when they are installed. Select an item from the Project View tree and click the arrow button or drag the file to the Destination View tree to include it in the installer directory structure. You can drag multiple files at the same time. Click the buttons below the Destination View tree to add, remove, and rename folders in the directory. You also can right-click the folders and select a command from the shortcut menu.
    The folders in the Destination View directory that do not have an LV prefix correspond to Microsoft Installer (MSI) properties that install files in the following locations.
    [CommonAppDataFolder]—Files you include in this folder install to the Application Data folder.
    [CommonFilesFolder]—Files you include in this folder install to the Common Files folder.
    [DesktopFolder]—Files you include in this folder install to the Windows desktop of the current Windows user.
    [LVxxRTEDIR]—Where xx is the LabVIEW version currently in use. Files you include in this folder install to the folder of the Run-Time Engine for the LabVIEW version currently in use.
    [LVDIR]—Files you include in this folder install to the folder of the LabVIEW version currently in use.
    You can find a full list of the MSI properties here. Scroll down to "System Folder Properties"

  • How to change the brightness of a picture on the iphone 5

    how do you change the brightnees

    In the Photos app, select the desired photo, tap the Edit button (top right) and tap the "magic wand" button on the bottom.  This will turn on Auto Enhance which may make it brighter.  If this doesn't do what you want, you'll need to download a photo editing app.

  • How to improve the printing quality of pictures, printing a database layout

    I have a database that contains also pictures in multimedia containers. If I print a layout containing a picture, the quality of the picture is really bad! Pixeled with big pixels.
    Is there a possibility to get better prints?
    The pictures are JPEGs of reasonable size.
    The picture in the layout on the screen looks MUCH better.
    Printing to an PDF and viewing this on the screen is equally bad.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    I'm guessing that your images are JPEGs. AppleWorks changes the resolution of all graphic formats except PICT to 72 dpi. There are a couple of things you can do improve the print quality of images.
    1. Turn on Fractional Character widths in Preferences > General > Topic: Text. This is a text setting, but it does improve the print quality of images.
    2. Open the image in Preview or GraphicConverter & Save As... a PICT to use in AppleWorks.
    PICT is generally the best format to use for inserting or pasting into AppleWorks. I find the resulting graphic can be resized somewhat & the resulting saved AW file is much smaller than if using JPEG or TIFF.

  • Accidental PS edit save to the Aperture Library / How to remove

    In my haste I accidentally saved a ps edit to the aperture library instead of the desktop. Normally I wouldn't be concerned about it but it's meant to print to mural size and it's huge. I can see it in the save directory via PS but am otherwise unable to get to it via the finder.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    All this is a big help but...
    I think he might be asking how to navigate the Aperture library via finder because he can't see the file in Aperture. Maybe not. In any case you can right click on the Aperture library and use show package contents to navigate within the library.
