How reduce the number of dialog processes? (disp+work.exe )

Hello,
i habe a question.
How can i change the number of disp+work.exe processes? Currently it run about 17 prozesses.
Through the CCMS tcode rz04 i have changed the number of all processes, also everone is now 1, unless dialog.
Also
Dialog is -10
Background -1
Update  -1
Update2 -1
Enqueue -1
Spool -1
Total  17
I would have total about 8  Processes..
How can i make it?
Thank you in advance!!!
Alex

Hi,
Are you aware that a lot of documentation is available and that it is possible to read it and even recommended because you would find very easily the answer to your very very basic question in it ?
Hint : Look for transaction RZ10 in the documentation and which parameters control the number of processes.
PS : There are also the forum rules that are also very interesting to read !

Olivier

  • Why do mulitple instances of the process 'disp+work.exe' run

    Hello friends
I am getting 'out of memory' when I try to bring up a website from portal that uses XI. When I checked the processes running, I noticed many many instances of 'disp+work.exe' running. Why do we need so many instances, if at all needed.
Any feedback on this and also the out of memory problem will be greatly appreciated.
We have about 4 gig of RAM and I don't know how much extra RAM this nees?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think the disp+work.exe Processes relate to the work process you have configured ( DIA + BG + UPD+ SPO + ENQ)
So i you see @ os level you should see a number which is equivalent to total no of work process and i suppose it has no connection java worker threads.
    Award points if helpful.
And where exactly you are getting the Outof Memory error
    Thanks,
    Tanuj

  • Number of dialog process in SM50 does not tally RZ10

    Hi,
I am encountering the above scenario whereby the number of dialog processes shown in SM50 is not the same as the profile parameters indicated in RZ10.
I have restated SAP several times and it's still the same - both doesn't tally.
Has anyone encountered the same?  How was it resolved?
    Thanks

    Problem resolved.
Reimported the profile and restarted SAP.

  • DB connect problem,Disp+Work.exe dies and the work processes die on startup

    Dear Experts,
I am getting the error on SAP startup,Disp+Work.exe dies and the work processes die on startup.
I found below error in my DEV_W0 trace as below
*failed to establish conn to np:(local).*
*C  Retrying without protocol specifier: (local)*
*C  Provider SQLNCLI could not be initialized. See note #734034 for more information.*
    *C  Using provider SQLOLEDB instead.*
*C  ExecuteAndFlush return code: 0x80040e14 Stmt: [if user_name() != 'pec' setuser 'pec']*
    *C  sloledb.cpp [ExecuteAndFlush,line 5989]: Error/Message: (err 4604, sev 0), There is no such user or group 'pec'.*
*C  Procname: [ExecuteAndFlush - no proc]*
But i could see the user 'pec' is availble in my database users list  with db_owner , public permissions also been assigned to it.
However When trying to delete a user on SQL server 2000, we recieve the message "You cannot drop the selected login ID because that login ID owns objects in one or more databases.".
Please refer the below work process trace and please suggest the possible solution..

    Hi Rohit and Subhadip,
My problem was solved, thanks for your effort.
reason is that, user 'pec' not been associated with login user for the SQL server.
subha : when i execute the first command which you suggested, but couldn't find any user's list.
so i didn't  tried with the second command. just to give a final try i have executed the script like below and its worked out.
    USE PEC
    GO
    EXEC sp_change_users_login 'update_one','pec','pec'
    GO
Now i see that all work process are starting,,,thank you so much rohit and subhadip
I could have try this first ,when you guys suggested since i couldn't find any output with the first command i didn't proceed with second one.
Since deleting and creating method doesn't seems to be a good, i have just to give a try executed the second command and its worked.
Thanks for your time and patience
    Many Thanks,
    Vinod

  • The disp+work.exe process does not start - after a homogenouse system copy-

    Hi there,
after a system copy from 4.6C (windows server 2003/oracle 10.2) to the same the database start and it is running fine but the when I try to start R/3 the process "disp+work.exe" stops after few seconde. The msg_server is running.
Is this a problem of memory? Maybe you have a quick feedback?
    Thanks in advance
    HanseAtik

    Hi Sharad,
Thanks for your reply. the problem was  the password of user SAPR3. Now I changed it vis sqlplus to sap and R/ can start.
Now I am getting the problem that the saplicense is not valid - when I try to login to R/3. This is logic because its from the source system.
    My problem now is:
When try install the saplicende vis: saplicense -install
    I get the error message:
    *SAPLICENSE (Release 46D) ERROR ****
    ERROR: Connect to Database failed
Details: DbsIConnect failed with return code 18.
    Even "R3trans -d" failed.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance

  • Installing IDES 6.07 disp+work.exe error. Parallels windows 7, SQL Server 2012

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to install sap IDES ECC 6 EhP 7 from scratch. Everything was doing well but I got an error on starting instance. SAPMMC Console Process disp+work.EXE do not change from status: "Server in State STARTING" (Yellow). I have been searching and most of the problem is related to Kernel. I upgraded Kernel to the latest version: SAPEXEDB_101-20012221.SAR and SAPEXE_101-20012222.SAR. I also check my host file and set my IP address with my computer name. I check logs dev_disp and dev_w0 but I am not able to see the error. I am installing IDES into Virtual Machine, Windows 7, SQL Server 2012, 8 Gb memory.
    Best Regards.

  • Disp+work.exe stopped, message server not connected.

    Dear friend,
I have successfully installed the SAP Netweaver 2004s for running WebDynProABAP
application. Then I executed the transaction sgen for all packages. But the
process seemed not completed succesfully. Then I restarted the machine. But the
SAP couln't start. Then I checked the MMC and found that disp+work.exe's status
    as 'stopped'.
Kindly advise me to solve the problem and how to restart the SAP system.
    with regards,
    siby syriac
    sdn member

    Bartosz,
i have the same problem mentioned before.
I've just installed SAP NW ABAP Trial on Windows XP SP2 (database MaxDB 7.5)
I tried to follow your suggestion with Database manager.
I checked that my db space is full and i tried to set a new size on the DATA0002 file.
I clicked on the "Information" frame, than to "Data Area", but i faced that nothing is modifiable there, and i can't set new properties on the DB files.
    How can i do?
Is this an authorization problem? (I tell you i connected on the DB with the main user and password i set on the system parameters in the installation.
    I'm waiting for a reply.
    Thanks.
    Alfonso

  • How do I reduce the number of emails showing on my iPhone?

How do I reduce the number of emails on my iPhone 5, without deleting the account? It's a POP account.

You read unread messages to reduce the notifcation number.
You delete messages to reduce the number showing as available.

  • How do I reduce the number of audio channels in the source or export settings?

I'. trying to export my finished edit through the "movie" setting but keep getting the message that the number of audio channels to create in the exported file must be equal to, or less than the number of channels in the source. Reduce the number of audio channels in the source. Reduce the number of audio channels in the export settings. I am at a loss as to what this means and how I proceed with it prior to putting it to DVD. Please advise.

What is your source, sequence settings and export setting. Which version of PP?
Prefebly a screendump of the export settings box.

  • What does "on my mac' mean and how do i delete or reduce the number of items in there?

What does "on my mac" mean and how do i delete or reduce the number?

    Hi ya
I'm seeing this on my email screen, on the left hand side - under the "RSS Apple".  The number of items in there is now 752.  It's preventing me from sending and receiving emails in my AOL account.
Any  help would be deeply appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • HT4489 How do I reduce the number of calendar items on iCloud (having exceeded my 25000 entry limit and synch has now stopped), without loosing recurring items or future appointments. I.E. can I remove items by calendar year, say 2010 and 2011?

I have been advised by apple that I have exceeded the 25000 entry limit on my iCloud calendar. Now, every time I try to make an entry in my iCal (iCloud) calendar, I get a warning with error warning "507". In essence I cannot add entries to my iCloud calendar on iCal, and synch with my iPad and iPhone has stopped. • How can I reduce the number of event cases in the main VI?

I would like to reduce the number of event case of the event structure in my main VI. E.g. I would like to have pop up window with a table when the user double click a table row. Nothing more simple than this: add a case to the event structure trigger by double clicking the table, read the table row ... But in my main VI I would have lots of them and the event structure gets crowded with minor tasks. One solution is using XControls. But is there any other recomended way to handle selected events separatly from the event structure in the main VI?
to clarify: I don't want to distribute the whole event structure. (In this case the code would not be maintainable) But I would like to handle certain context specific events in a differnt place. If I have them all in the main VI the drop down list of the events in the event structure exceeds the windows size and the program becomes difficult to maintain because one looses the overview.

"Strictly forbidden" is not true. But highly not recommended. The reason is simple:
    1. Code can react unpredictable. Dennis already stated some things about that in your linked thread.
    2. Code is not readable and therefore not maintainable. Each event source should have only one event structure for its events. Since the UI is a single source, events from there should be captured in a single event structure. It is recommended to use this event structure as producer in a producer/consumer design pattern in order not to block the events.
    3. You will most propably need timeouts in your event structure which completly negates the advantage of event driven programming. Either use event driven programming or stay at polling. Do not mix (most of all because of maintenance).
    Regarding your "advantages" you listed:
    - Clustering  reduces readability in therefore should never be done. Additionally, it requires timeout cases in most places which is not recommended.
    - If you have such many events and interactions in your "sequence", it is a clear indication that you chose the wrong architecture for your application.
Please see attached example. Since i am not used to program with more than one event structure (except if i have different dedicated event sources), the example is "constructed" and therefore may lack of "realism". Nevertheless, it shows some issues which might occur:
    - Blocking calls within the events lead to the fact that the UI is not responsive for the event time (FuncA). Nevertheless, interaction is still enqueued and if the blocking call is over, all those interaction are executed. In the example, please press FuncA and then press FuncC immediatly. You will see that nothing happens and after the 5s blocking call, the FuncC dialog appears. You also can switch tabs, but the visual display will update only after the 5s blocking call.
    - In order to keep the UI responsive, FuncB is configured not to block the UI. But this is no solution: Press FuncB (on page 2) and the change to page 1 and press FuncA. Additionally, press FuncC. What happens? Just to mess things up, press Stop as well......do this combination several times. It is possible that only the lower loop is finished and the VI is still running even if Stop has been pressed.
Please note everyone that the attached example shoudl strictly be seen as "NEVER DO IT LIKE THIS". This is a negative example and shows the approach which is not recommended by any means!
