How save image to appear sharp, clear bkgd in IE Windows?

I have an html page that has logos with fine repro areas in it, I want a clear background so I used pngs which are sharper than gifs. They look great in the mac browsers and in Firefox in Windows.
But when I open it in Windows IE6 it shows white backgrounds instead of clear...
Is there another way to save them? I thought Windows and IE liked pngs?

This is a well-known shortcoming in older versions of IE. Here is one take on it:

If you don't like them, google png in ie6 fix

  • Images not appearing sharp and with posterization

    Some RAW CR2 images taken with Canon EOS 1D Mk11 appear perfect when viewed in the Canon software. I can then save them as TIFFS from this software but cannot manipulate them in it. When the same RAW images are opened in Photoshop CS3, they appear un sharp and in one case there is posterization around a bright light - something that does not happen in the Canon software. Any ideas???
    Thank you

    Sharpness -
    I would guess that the Canon software is showing you the image with an unreasonably high amount of sharpening applied. Their defaults are not good, you should reset them if you're going to use the Canon converter.
    Posterization -
    What you're seeing in Camera Raw is an artifact that's unique to that converter. It is the one reason I still use Capture One for images that have level 255 transitions. The Canon converter handles those transitions smoothly as well.

  • Burned DVD images only appear sharp near end of loaded time in screen

    Hi, I am new to the list. I have produced a slide show in iDVD with still photos, music and some video. Everything is fine except when I view the final presentation on my TV or with a DVD projector.
    The Problem:
    The images load and transition fine except they appear somewhat bitmapped or not sharp until just before the transition to the next slide then it sharpens. This happens with every image. It's as though the image is loading and then finally loads at the last half second to full resolution. Because of this the photos lack any detail until the very last second.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Yup, and some transitions are worse than others. To avoid the problem you have two choices: 1. don't use any transitions in iDVD slideshows, or 2. (which is the best approach) create your slideshows in iPhoto or iMovie. (There are also third party photos to slideshow applications, but give iPhoto or iMovie a try first.)

  • PSE 11 - How save image with printer color profile?

    I use an outside service to make prints. How can I save an image in PSE 11 in either TIFF or JPEG format with the color profile for the outside lab's printer? Thanks.

    You can print a photo using the correct printer profile for the lab printer. In the print dialog box , go to "Page Option>Color Management" and then choose Color Handling as "Photoshop Managers color". Now click the printer profile dropdown and choose the profile for your lab printer. If you are not able to find the profile for you printer  then choose "Printer Manages Color"
    To your second question the answer is that you cannot save the image with the correct colors for printing. You can only convert the profile of your image to Adobe RGB which matches gamut of most printer profiles using "Image Menu>Convert Color Profile and choose Adobe RGB.

  • How save xml-stylesheet (appearance) of Infopath xml when make a update

    Hi, please advise.
    i want to update xml, which looks like:
    <my:Allgemeine_Infos>
    <my:Projektnummer>Test</my:Projektnummer>
    <my:Datensatzstatus>in Bearbeitung</my:Datensatzstatus>
    <my:Datum>2014-10-06</my:Datum>
    <my:Ersteller>
    <pc:Person>
    <pc:DisplayName>Test user</pc:DisplayName>
    <pc:AccountId>lalala</pc:AccountId>
    <pc:AccountType></pc:AccountType>
    </pc:Person>
    </my:Ersteller>
    <my:DatensatzID>Test</my:DatensatzID>
    </my:Allgemeine_Infos>
    It is a Xml-file from Infopath library. I get a xml content using XmlDocument.InnerXml, but in this case i receive a content as one line:
    <my:Allgemeine_Infos><my:Projektnummer>Test</my:Projektnummer><my:Datensatzstatus>in Bearbeitung</my:Datensatzstatus><my:Datum>2014-10-06</my:Datum><my:Ersteller>
    <pc:Person><pc:DisplayName>Test user</pc:DisplayName><pc:AccountId>lalala</pc:AccountId><pc:AccountType></pc:AccountType></pc:Person>
    </my:Ersteller><my:DatensatzID>Test</my:DatensatzID></my:Allgemeine_Infos>
    Is there a way to receive it not as 1 line or to save it not as 1 line?
    Thanks :)
    from MSDN forum...

    Thanks for the response Shay. The xml component is added as a custom component , with a separate faces-config.xml file . This component is added to ADF project as a jar with a custom tag.
    In the ADF project , i'm having different managed beans and i can access them from a different managed bean.
    The issue is, i can't access the added custom component's backing bean which is available from a different jar , defined in a separate faces-config.xml file . This backing bean is defined with request scope.

  • Help... how to make video sharp & clear???!

    now my video is blur one how can i make it sharp & clear?

    Make it a dream sequence.
    EVERYONE knows dream sequences are supposed to be unsharp and unclear.
    In fact, add some digital noise and the earthquake filter (simulates hand held unwatchable home movies) and you could be headed to Sundance!

  • When I right click on a web image to save, the Save Image popup box has nothing listed in the "Save as type" box at the bottom just below "File Name"

    When I attempt to save an image from a web site page, I right click and then the Save Image popup appears. At the bottom of the popup, the "File name" box will contain the appropriate file name of the image. However, in the "Save as Type" box, there is nothing listed and I can't enter a file extension, such as JPEG. What then is saved is just a thumbnail image

    You can use this extension to modify the menu.

    You can also achieve this with code in the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.

    The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

  • When I right click "save image as" on a JPG file, I get no response at all. How can I fix this?

    I am running Firefox 34.0 on Linux (Fedora 20, KDE desktop). I checked the Mozilla download site and it says I have the latest version. When I right click on a JPEG file to save it, I get the "save image as" option, but when I select it, nothing happens. The file is not downloading. I google searched for fixes and tried all of the following, per the Mozilla support documents, all with no change in response:
    - Changing the download folder
    - Reseting the relevant preferences in the about.config folder
    - clearing the download history
    - Running Firefox in Safe Mode
    Additionally, I verified under preferences that jpeg image is set to "always ask".
    All other references to this problem seem to refer to problematic plugins, but the safe mode check shows that is not my issue. Any idea what the issue could be and how I can fix it?

    As previously stated, when I run with all of the addons disabled, the problem still exists. I just tried this again and verified it again. Per your suggestion, I created a new profile and found that the save image as command worked. Do you have any idea what part of the profile is corrupted and causing the problem? I'd like to localize the problem so I can save as much of my old profile as possible, and not have to start over rebuilding all of my settings.

  • "Save Image As" does not appear on the right click menu of an image I want to save.

    Trying to save images as a file to my desktop/laptop. I right click on the image and the menu appears. The entry Save Image As... is not present on the menu. How do I get the menu to show this entry?
    I've heard that the problem may have something to do with plug-ins, but I've reinstalled and disabled each of them. It didn't change anything.

    Does that happen with all images or only on specific web pages?
    Can you post a link if the later applies?
    Can you save the images via Tools > Page Info > Media ?
    To be sure:
    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
    If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    You can also try "Reset all user preferences to Firefox defaults" on the [[Safe mode]] start window.

  • Help! Why do my images look overly sharp and appear to download?

    I recently updated CC and now my images look overly sharp when I'm batching or working at a smaller size. When zoomed in at 50% they look fine. Is there any way to fix this? It's very difficult to work with everything looking so warped at a smaller scale. Also, when I open a file after batching and running an action it appears to "download" line by line instead of just opening. What is going on?

    When I am batching multiple images and running actions, I don't want to view them at 100% they are huge files. 24 megapixels, on average 60.5M and 3925x5945 at 300 dpi. That's REALLY zoomed in. I was not having this issue with CC until I updated it and now everything looks warped at a smaller scale. I want to know why it changed and how to change it back.

  • How To Save Image Trace

    I've created an 16 colour vector from an image, it appears "smooth" until I drop it into Powerpoint and it appears with all of the paths outlined. I imported into open office, right clicked and selected "break". This appeared to smooth out the image again but when it finished it appeared with every outline again. Converted to .emf, don;t know what else to do. Every option results in an image with every single area outlined. How can I save this to work with outside of Ai and have to look as it is when I save it?

    sure, here's what I'm getting as a final result and then when I open the saved file in multiple formats. As I said it makes no sense because when I "break" the image in open office it smooths it back out perfectly then goes back to outlined when completed! Really frustrating. It looks OK with the waves, but the more detailed ones aren't usable.

  • How can I stop these weird inert file images from appearing on my desktop?

    Inert file images keep appearing and cluttering up my desktop with names such as: 3FV2JEQy.JPG.part;  9wA_fwAk.JPG.part;  MpxSEQgY.jpg.part   etc.
    It seems to me that they are related to viewing photos from emails with "Preview". (They could be photos from iPhoto also. I cannot be certain).
    My desktop fills up with these weird inert file images and I have to go thru and delete them to clear the mess on my desktop. How can I stop this from occurring??
    Many thanks.

  • When browsing a new library that I created, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle the image appears. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles?

    When browsing a new library that I created and exported onto an external hard drive, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle, the image appears, but all the other rectangles remain empty - no image. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles? I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

    You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
    If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
    In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
    Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
    Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

  • How to Save image in a text to my photos

    How do I save the photo in a text message to my iPad air photos?

    Tap the image in Message. (If you touch too long it brings up the: Copy; Other... menu instead)
    This blows the image up to full screen.
    Touch the image again to get menu options.
    In the top right corner, tap the box with the up arrow.  One choice is Save Image.  Touch it to save to your camera roll.
    In the top left corner, the three-line menu shows you all the photos in the message string, and some metadata like image size and camera title/image number.
    This is in IOS 7.1.1 on an iPad, and should work on iPhone and Touch also.
