Go into your Applications folder, then into "System Preferences", then into "Energy Saver". You can set them there.

That happened to my brother earlier. He went into Facebooand then into another app and the same thing happened. he ended up having to restore it. Mine stayed with the Apple logo for a bit but its back to normal after pressing the buttons a million times. I hope you get your problem sorted. Goodluck!

Make a Genius Bar appointment. In the meantime go Settings > General > Accessabilty > Assistive Touch.

My ipod shows a blue screen and then turns off and wont turn back on. What should I do?

I turned on my iPod touch today and it turned on as usual. I unlocked it and went to play a game. I got tired of the game after about 5 mins so I went to the home screen. I swiped to the previous screen and it showed a blue screen after about 3 seconds. I was sort of surprised as this hadn't ever happened before. It didn't turn itself off so I pressed and held the power and home buttons. It turned off after three seconds. I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't turn back on. I remembered about what someone said about pressing and holding the power button and the home button. I did so and as expected it turned back on. I unlocked it and the same thing happened again. Blue screen! I turned it off and tried the same thing again. Yet this time when it got to the lock screen, I pressed and held the power button and slid to power off. I didn't want to try turning it on again so I asked this question. WHY DOES MY IPOD SHOW A BLUE SCREEN? (Over and over agin every time I turn it on?) Please help!

I am getting a message in the middle of my imac screen instructing me to hold down the on-off button and turn off the machine. The message is in several foreign languages beside english, and there is not way to get rid of it. The curser is inactive.

I am getting a message in the middle of my imac screen instructing me to hold down the on-off button and turn off the computer. The message is in several languages and completely takes over the computer disabling the mouse and all other functions. The only option is to unplug the computer or turn it off. I'm concerned that this is a virus. It does not look like it's related to Apple or the imac OS.

That sounds like a kernel panic. These are generally hardware related, often caused by poorly seated or fauly RAM.

My ipad is stuck on a screen that shows to plug it into itunes.. i dont know why its there or what happened but i can not get it to go away.... i can not turn it on or off.. iv tried to hold just the power button .. which it shows the apple logo but then goes right to the plug in itunes .. i dont want to mess anything up!!... i was using it earlier today and it was fine.. i went to shut it off and then turn it back on and it wont now... my daughter hit the "home" botton as i was turning it off.. so i dont know if that did something to it. but i just want to figure out how to turn it back on!!.. Is this happening with one particular network or with all? Make sure iOS is updated on the device.
Try this:
Reboot ipad by pressing and holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go. Then try to connect to network.
Go to settings, Toggle airplane mode on/off. Make sure bluetooth is off. Turn on wif (airplane mode off). Try to connect.
Reset Network Settings
Go to settings/general/reset/reset network settings. Then try to connect to network.
If its your home router, then reboot router by unplugging for 5-10min. (do this while you're resetting network settings).
If problem persists, then check for firmware updates on your router.(you check router manufacturer support website for downloads and instructions).

You can get there from here (booting normally); it just may take you a few steps to do it.
If the disk is almost full and the system won't boot then sometimes it will boot in Safe Mode.

If the Safe Mode boot does not do the trick then you can install OS X on an external hard disk, boot from that, and then delete files. You can also reach the disk via Target Mode. A third option is to take it to an Apple store where they can do a network boot and help you remove some files.
