How secured is deleting db using DBCA

Dear all,
Am planning to convert a single node DB to RAC..
in the note,it is mentioned to create a DBCA template of the single node DB (with data and structure) and delete the existing DB using DBCA and create a RAC DB using DBCA and using the template created earlier ?
Can I rely on this ?

Hello,
DBCA takes care of everything while deleting instance whereas in manually you have to run several steps. I also like using drop database which generally take care of everything too (little skeptical about deleting datafiles but I think it deletes datafiles) as well.

You do not have to restore it, but you cannot access the music at all from this other computer until you sync it, which will erase the content.

You need to copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

Delete database using DBCA

We have two database one is the old one we want to delete, I'm using the DBCA to delete the old database, but when I've selected the old one to delete, I'm getting the error message ORA-01092, and I've seen the oracle instance service for this database is running.
My question is:
should be run the instance oracle service from the database I want to delete?
can be the oracle error ora-01092 because when we did the change to the new database, at the same time we did the upgrade from oracle 10.2.0.3. to 10.2.0.4, and now the old database should be upgraded too although I want to delete it. Because we only did the startup upgrade from the new one.

Bea.You fail to mention your OS, but since you talk about "instance service" I assume you are on Windows, and you are talking about the Windows service that supports the instance.
Have you actually followed through on the usual problem resolution for the reported error? Don't just guess at what causes it in relation to your situation. It's still a well-documented error and the usual possibilities are still in play.
BTW, just because the Windows service is running doesn't mean the database instance is running. In windows, the service is necessary but not sufficient. Go to an OS command prompt. Set ORACLE_SID to the correct value for the instance you want to drop. Do a "sqlplus / as sysdba" and see what you get. Just as a learning experience, once there do a 'shutdown immediate'. When that completes go back to the services control panel and look at the stats of the service. It should still be running.

If you don't know the termset net it makes it tricky.
In theory if you know the name of the term you could look through all termsets to find it. The catch of course is to ensure there is only one instance of the term otherwise you may delete terms you need.

1.- shutdown the database
2.- Delete all files ( Control Files, .dbf, Redo's, Archive�s, parameter file, password file )
3.- Delete the entrance of this database from
listener.ora and from tnsnames.ora files.
and that's it.

There's no need to worry yourself over things like this, unless the information is highly confidential...
Few incidents occur where someone will actually bother to log onto a public network and then hack into others' computers/devices in order to gain access to information such as credit card numbers etc... computer viruses and trojans are much better designed for this kind of job.
If security really is a concern, consider using a VPN to access the internet after you have connected to a network.

you should worry more about data leaking at the fibre optic between-datacenters level, or direct hacking of the bank websites, rather than your hotspots.
