How should I Set Up My New External G-Raid?

Just received my new GR42000 2TB G-Raid Drive, but before even turning on the unit I began to read the manual PDF that came with the drive.
I want to use this unit with my new iMac and also with my HP PC which has video files that I'd like to access from time to time. I was instructed to reformat the drive for "Cross Platform Support"
Questions:
1) is this needful for extracting my video files.
2) Will using the Fat32 MSDOS format restrict my editing abilities within Final Cut Express 4HD.
3) Does the file extensions from the PC have to be converted, or is this what is done when they are transfered from internal to external.
I will be using this G-Raid for storing Video and Music Files exclusively and working 95% of the time on the iMac.
I also read in the manual that a software exists "MacDrive" for install and a cost, which I could not find, to help converge the two systems to work between each other.
I want to start off correctly and avoid transfering files and then later have to reformat and loose all the time spent doing so.
I'd appreciate advice from others who have already worked through the process.
I hope I've provided enough information, if not I'll await instructions.

I think that the problem is that users in this section of the forum (including myself), do not use Final Cut Express. Or again including myself, dabble all that much with windoz.
While MS-DOS FAT-32 is the ideal Format for sharing files Cross Platform, it has a 4GB single file size limit and may not be the best for storing and working on Final Cut Express files.
Examples:
For cross platform sharing of music, photo's. movie's and files under 4GB, I use an External HD the is set up Master Boot Record/MS-DOS FAT-32.
For backups, Time Machine and Bootable Cloning I use a different External HD that is set up GUID Partition Table/Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
So sorry, but I can not say exactly which would be the best solution for your multi facetted case. I suspect that GUID/Mac OS Extended is better for rendering and editing, but then you will need something on the windows side for reading and writing to that.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

As I mentioned earlier, the main time when this becomes an issue is if you need to do something involving associating a computer with a particular AppleID. Careful management of your collection should minimize this situation.

So the first account is really "yours" and you are setting her up with her own account? It helps to know this because if both are "hers" then there isn't an issue with her having full access to both accounts. If in 10 years she moves 2000 miles away and she is pretty much independent then you may not want her to have full access to your AppleID just so she can authorize a device.

You first need to set up a new User Name and Password with your Internet Service Provider (ISP); that is, whoever provides you with Internet access, such as Comcast, AT&T, etc in the US. Alternately you can go on the Internet and set up a new email Account with a new User Name and Password with a public company such as Google's "Gmail" or Microsoft's "Hotmail". Once you have set up your new Account with them, THEN you enter that information into Apple's "Mail" for it to send and receive emails for your new outside Account.

Your iphone 4 must still be logged into your icloud account. Go to settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of page and tap Delete Account. This will remove all your data from the old device but not from icloud or your iphone 5.

You can't use the remote app to setup a network. If your physical remote isn't working you will need borrow another or purchase a replacement.

On your Mac, try to access your gmail account. There should be a link you click for "Forgot My Password". Click it and try to retrieve your password.

Connect the two via Firewire cable - Transferring files between two computers using FireWire. Boot the old iMac into Target Disk Mode. Boot the new iMac normally.
If you are starting the new iMac for the first time then do the above before you turn on the new iMac. After you turn on the new iMac you will begin in the Setup Assistant. When you complete the registration screens you will be offered an opportunity to migrate your data from another Mac. Follow the instructions to migrate your old Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences to the new iMac.
If you have already gone through the Setup Assistant and created an initial admin user account, then you do the connection step but will use Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder of the new iMac.

There is no good reason to register your Mac anyway.
You can opt out of the setup process and registration by pressing Command (Apple key) and the "Q" key.
The registration process requires you to divulge a lot of unnecessary information.

Since I can view my images and clips in LR library and also Adobe Bridge, what are the advantages or disadvantages of PE organizer? How should I set up the defaults and use PE Organizer? I'm a little concerned about using the same file in different programs. For example, say i have an image that's already been processed for printing and has a specific color profile/ color space that I want to use now as a starting point for an animation in PE. I just don't want to end up writing over previous data but I'm also concerned about having 15 verisions of the same file. Any suggestions for peace of mind? I'm running windows 7.
