How should I setup my users and netork? Or fix Permissions

I've been running OS X Server 10.2.8 and all was fine but I'm having one heck of a time getting permissions to propigate. Anyway, we ran out of disk space and I just added an 80GB drive to the raid via Software Raid. I am copying everything back onto the raid now. The raid is seperate from the startup disk and set as a sharepoint as inherit permission from parent.
The problem I'm having is that when trying to set the permissions it doesn't propigate them properly. I don't want to click on 18,000 items to set the permission.
We are an art department with 10 users. There is an Archive folder that is read only, a user folder that each user can see the other users items but only write to their own folder, prepress folder for sending things to prepress, item development that is read only.
I'm trying to set everything in the Archive as read only and it only propigates the 1st level of folders only. No items or subfolders.
I am not using home directories or any net booting. Basically a share point with different folders inside it. Each folder is assigned a group. In the users folder there are 10 folders with different users (groups) assigned to them. The users set up as groups can read and write and everyone else is read only.
Access settings are typically:
Owner (Admin) Read Write
Group (User setup as a group) Read Write
Everyone Read Only
Some folders that I want to be read only are setup as:
Owner (Admin) Read Write
Group (Group such as Art Deparment or prepress) Read Only
Everyone Read Only
Does this setup look right for a small workgroup? Does anyone know how to propicate the permissions? The protical buttons are greyed out on any folder down from my sharepoint. The say Use standard POSIX behavior.

Nevermind. There was a post over in the Terminal forum that mentioned the program BatChmode. That did the trick and fixed the permissions.

Here adding to the words of “Tim”, a forwarder is a DNS server on a network used to forward DNS queries for external DNS names to DNS servers outside of that network. You can also forward queries according to specific domain names using conditional forwarders.

If you need several copies of Acrobat (the license is per user), then you should talk to Adobe Sales about a volume purchase. I am not sure of the details, but probably the best way to go. In that case, I think all are on the same S/N and you pay according to the number of activations or such. Again, I am not sure and you need to talk to Adobe. Adobe is currently pushing the cloud and subscription versions and you might want to discuss the various options with them.

Thank you Roger for your quick responde, really appreciate it, however; this is not actually what am looking for, it helps though.
Lets say for example that you create a new iCloud account and called ([email protected]) then later on, you created an Alias for that account and called ([email protected]).
Now, the ([email protected]) is your default email account which you use to login through iClould.com, restore your i device and so on, however; you can't use your Alias email ([email protected]) for this things, because basically its not your default account.
My question is, how should i setup ([email protected]) to replace ([email protected]) to be my default iCloud account?

How should I setup a SATA HDD on K8N Neo2 Platinum?

I bought a 200Gb SATA hard disk (Maxtor 6V200E0). This is the first time I work with SATA HDDs.
I plugged the HDD as I always did with an IDE HDD, and installed Windows XP -I have configured nothing-. The problem I'm experiencing is that sometimes Windows XP boots fine, and sometimes it doesn't. After the POST, the Windows Logo does never appear. I do not see anything.
Reading the Manual, I believe to understand that no matter if you only have one SATA HDD, I should setup nVRAID in the BIOS. Is that correct?. If I configure the nVRAID in the BIOS and setup RAID 0, should this problem disappear?. How should I setup my SATA HDD?. Is it the same to connect it to SATA1/SATA2/SATA3/SATA4 controller?. Or should it be connected into SATA1 -just because there's only 1 HDD in the system-?.

Yes, unfortunatelly there's a major issue with this kind of HDDs and nForce3&4 chipset based mainboards. I found the following article at the Maxtor web-site -I asked them to send me the firmware upgrade; standing by-:

Firmware updates are not upgrades. They offer no performance enhancements and exist only to provide specific compatibility resolutions. If you have a drive that is working properly in a computer, you do not need a firmware update.
Do not use a firmware update that is not authorized directly by Maxtor as there are variations of firmware for different revisions of drives that can render drives inoperable if applied to the wrong drive.
Applying firmware to a drive that is not authorized by Maxtor will void the warranty on the drive as this would be considered an unauthorized modification. Please see Maxtor's Limited Warranty Statement for more information.
If your drive came inside an OEM machine such as a Dell, Apple, Gateway etc., do not apply a firmware update at all as this will void the warranty which is held by that manufacturer. Please contact your OEM vendor directly.
The following issues have been identified with Maxtor SATA II drives and the nVidia nForce4 controller:
Data Corruption: If you are experiencing data corruption issues, the problem is not with the hard drive firmware. I know this has something to do with using Netinfo to create them, but I am logged in remotely via ssh and I can't use Netinfo Manager.

I want to be able to setup a user mobile account, with the home directory stored locally and not synced to the server. What is the best way to do this? I am running Server 10.6 with 10.6 clients. Open Directory will be used to authenticate and manage preferences. Also, this one account will be used simultaneosly in a computer lab setting, so files will be stored locally in the client, hence the need to NOT sync to the server. Any Ideas?

to perform these tasks, the user must be logged in into weblogic and be in Administrators
group. Then, the code is as follows:

this is a bit trickier, because if you are not an admin, you can't change your

a screw up on BEA's part. So, to allow users to change their own passwords, you
must change security context in the middle of processing to that of Admin user
and run this function as Admin user. Although a bit ackward, it's very easy to
do. Suppose you have two EJBs - EJB A and EJB B. EJB A does normal processing
for the user and always runs in logged in user's security context. Now, suppose
you want to add a method to EJB A to change current password. The method may
look like:

throws some exceptions
Now, there is no way to do it in EJB A, because for most users, it will run in
a 'non-admin' security context. So, to get around it, you create another
EJB - EJB B. This EJB has one method:

and one major difference - this EJB always runs in a secrity context of admin
user. To get an EJB B running 'as admin user', all you have to do in EJB A is

vote against it and use part 3 to ONLY allow users change their own passwords

Problem is that I even don´t remember the name of my "user" administrator. I don´t know if it's "system" or "sysdba" or "administrator" or "root" ... :(
I´m a student, I don´t know nothing about admin databases.
in generally when I install something I use to write and keep the user I used to install but this time I forgot.
- I tried Aman... clue, problem is that I have to connect to the database as SYSDBA to perform it.
- I didn´t understand Mastalerz clue.
any more clue, or I'll have to unistall my db ? :(
