Hi Experts,
i joined a company which has SAP implementation, it went live in other modules except HR. so all SD,MM is running thru sap but no HR. so i joined as HR consultant and i am a fresher.
so please guide me how should i start .i read the business process, BBP, and other configurations.In HR there are OM,PA,TM and PY has configured.but there are some problems in config in all submodules like payroll has not run properly, time dat aproblem, absence - attendance quotas problem and so on.
please guide me how to strat and how to check.
i will update everyday this thread every time to let u know the status.

actaully i errors are many in time and payroll.
so thats the reason the bussiness people are no tusing the sap for their hR activities.
the compnay went live in SAP in last year, there after they are not using the sap for HR activities.
i received some problems like
payroll is running for 45 days
if a person got terminated his time sheet is coming with no time events
if a person joined on 23 rd feb, his payslip is coming with all sundays and remaining days.........
like this many.
so to solve this puzzle how should i start.
shall i start the configuration from scrach or how ??
i am the only person here in HR. its a challenging task for me.

Advice:
1. Learn the basics with simple command line applications first. Don't worry about complicated topics like Swing, databases, Web applications, etc. for at six months

Where did you buy it? facetime is barred from devices sold in some countries, due to the countries insisting upon it. UAE and other middle eastern countries are examples.
If you bought your iPad in a country that banns its use then you'll never have facetime on that device. It's locked out at the most basic level.

All answer given above would be useful to you in some or the other scenario. if you are facing performance issue the approach you take determines how easily and quickly you can find solution.
First thing is know your system how it works for that you need to first baseline a system. A system with 70 % CPU utilization would not always be issue but for some environment it can be. If you know your system very well moment performance issue comes
you would know where is the problem. Wait stats alone is never helpful you must be able to correlate wait stats to what is going on your system. If you know which query is causing issue its easy to see execution plan and tune it. If issue is server wide it
can be due to missing index outdated stats slow disk subsystem etc. So first step is finding the cause. As Uri suggested wait stats are always helpful I use wait stats and refer to below whitepaper by Microsoft for SQL Server troubleshooting

How should I start with EJB programming?

I have more than one year's programming experience in developing complicated data-driven web applications.
Now I decide to use EJB to build new web applications, how should I start?
Should I take a professional training class or just read several EJB books? I have Ed Roman's EJB book, it is great.

I think you start of by reading the EJB book by Ed Roman.It's free and availaible at www.theserverside.com.
Read the first few chapters.
Another good book is Richard-Monson Haefel's EJB published by Orielly.
Start of by coding a few examples of stateless session beans on an easily deployable server like the J2EE server, available from this website.
Your next aim should be to understand Entity beans and the issues surrounding container managed persistance and bean managed persistance.
Voila in no time you wil be a champ.

As the name suggests Web Dynpro for ABAP uses exactly the same meta model as its cousin Web Dynpro for Java. A Web Dynpro component, a Web Dynpro view, a Web Dynpro model, a Web Dynpro controller have the same semantics both for ABAP and Java. The main difference is the designtime environment, the development infrastructure and the runtime environment.
The designtime environment is properly embedded in the ABAP Workbench where Web Dynpro artifacts are simply a new category like BSP applications or classical dynpro based applications before. Also no surprises regarding the development infrastructure. Creating a form with WebDB - how should I start ?

Since I am a beginner in this area and nobody can help me at the office (but deadline is very close:) I hope somebody can help me at this forum..
So my problem is the followng:
I have a table 'Entity' with columns:
- ID// Name// Version// PreVersion and so on...
There is already implemented a form for Defining new entity. That form introduces Version = '1.1-0' (by default) and PreVersion = 'N/A' (by default), and of course Name and others are introduced by end user.
Now I have to implement a form for creating a new version from a specific Name and from an existing version (of course at the beginning there will exist only versions 1.1-0)
So I don't have idea at the moment which kind of form should I start with: forms on stored procedures or forms on tables/views or other type ?
The form should work in the following way:
when user executes it, he/she must give the Name and Version (from which new version must be created) and then a new row must be inserted with values copied from previous row (or if it's easier with NULL values); BUT Version of the new row must be a value entered by end user and PreVersion of new row must be the value of Version of the modified (previous) row.
For me it's difficult to imagine how can I solve a kind of parametrization in the form. I mean let say I have two columns in the form definition: Ent_name and Version where user gives the searching criteria i.e. Version and Name value of the row which must be modified, but how can I refference them in a SQL code let say added for example in 'Advanced PL/SQL Code' menu of form definition ?
I would appreciate any good idea just to give me a kick in what way sould I start ...

Hi,
You can reference the columns in the additional plsql code using session variables. All the columns are referred with 'A_' prefixed to the name of the column. You can make use of p_session.get_value_as_<datatype> to get values and p_session.set_value to assign values to these columns.

How should I start my project for editing MP4 in Premiere E9

I am new to the forums and to video/picture editing in general. The main disconnect I have is with all the different formats and such.
Long story short. I have Premiere elements 9. Im using a Flip Ultra HD (to my understanding it produces MP4).

You should select the Settings for a Flip Mino/Ultra HD project, then use Get Media to get the files from your camcorder into your computer.

How should I start, stop or restart SQL services if it is in a cluster?

For migration purpose I need to stop sql server services in a cluster. I don't want to failover the cluster I just want to stop the sql server services before the windows system admin shutdowns the windows server and later start again once migration is done.
This is clone migration so I don't have to do anything except stopping and starting the services of sql. I found two places there to take service offline and online, one is just clicking the services and application and in the right hand side directly right
clicking the instance and take service offline, another is expanding the instance and taking offline agent and sql server service one by one.
I don't know which is the way.
Please some one help me.

You can use SQL Server Configuration Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, Cluster Administrator.
Do not use the Services applet in Control Panel.

How should I set GPG to use with KMail or even rather Thunderbird?

In the last 3 hours I tried to set Thunderbird (Enigmail) and KMail to use my GPG key. I failed.
I made the keypairs with Kgpg, installed enigmail, restarted the Thunderbird, set everything, but TB didn't asked for password, only gave an error message that it can't use gpg in batch mode and the password is wrong:

I read a lot and all I found is that I have to disable the use of gpg-agent in Enigmail's settings, but it was alredy disabled, despite I got this message:
"Your system uses gpg-agent or a similar tool for passphrase handling (gpg-agent is mandatory if GnuPG v2.0 or later is used). Since caching of passphrases is handled by gpg-agent, the respective timeout settings in OpenPGP are disregarded. In order to change passphrase caching options, please configure your gpg-agent tool."
After many pages I gave up, it seems it cannot be solved.
So I tried KMail. But KMail didn't ask password, too. Google, searching. I found that I should install pinentry-qt. Well, pinentry is already installed and I have pinentry, pinentry-qt and pinentry-qt4, too. So I searched for another solution. Then I found that I should use gpg-agent (I used it already according to Thunderbird) and I have to write use-agent to .gnupg/gpg.conf. It was already there. Then I found that I have to make a file, .gnupg/gpg-agent.conf whit this content:
pinentry-program /usr/bin/pinentry-qt4
no-grab
default-cache-ttl 1800
So I made it. After this I add the eval "$(gpg-agent --daemon)" to my .xinitrc, as it was written in many posts. I logged out and in. Still no luck.
The gpg-agent in terminal says:
gpg-agent: gpg-agent running and available
I tried a test I found on forums: echo "test" | gpg -ase -r 0xDEADBEEF | gpg. It says:
1024-bit RSA key, ID CFF2728D, created 2011-05-17 (main key ID CD35B00C)
gpg: problem with the agent -disabling agent use.
Then it asks the passphrase. I type it in, but then a message appears that I didn't have any public key.
I tried to disable gpg-agent, but didn't helped. Thunderbird said:
"can't connect to `/tmp/gpg-y2XPqU/S.gpg-agent': Kapcsolat elutasítva
gpg: Nem tudok kapcsolódni "/tmp/gpg-y2XPqU/S.gpg-agent" objektumhoz: connect failed" - connection refused. Can't connect to /tmp... object.
KMail simply says bad passphrase.
So. How can I use GPG? What should I do, how should I start? Is it possible at all? I just wanted to sign and encrypt e-mails. It seemed very easy.
ps.: all the installed softwares are up to dated. And sorry about the mistakes in my English, if any!

Install Oracle DB as service that should be started manually

I have laptop computer (Windows Business Vista) with small main disk space and I would like to install Oracle DB on removable HDD (I have already many programms installed there; RAM is sufficienly large to accomodate them) and my plan is to install Oracle database 11g on HDD as service that should be started manually. Are there any installation options to do this in the right way or are there any configuration options that should be tuned after installation, is there stardad way recommended by Oracle how to do this?
I know that after installation I can configure any Windows service one by one (including OracleServiceXXX, OracleDBConsoleXXX, ...JobSceduler, ...TNSListener, etc.) that they should be started only manually, but is there any procedure recommded by Oracle how to do this? E.g. maybe I can miss some service that should be configured and so on.
And maybe the similar procedure is available of application servers and services of SOA Suite as well?
And when I will have Oracle installation with manual startup-shutdown configuration - how should I start and shutdown database. I am reading http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/start.htm and it says that I should issue only SQL statements for this - but as I understand - there should be some scripts that should be executed before those statements - at least - for startup of TNSListener. Is there some *.bat file suppled by Oracle for this?

You can make installation to on your external HDD. If you want to service should be start manualy than you need to open services.msc and on related service > right click >properties >> startup type "manuel"
