How should I treat a by product which is once again used in Production

Hi Gurus,
I am working in a make-to-stock scenario in discrete manufacturing industry. There is a by product produced at the end of manufacturing process. My approach to this was I created the BOM with -ve quantity of the by product. I thought I use movement type 531(or 262) for by product. But now the matter is that this by product is once again is consumed in foundry. So I am not able to capture that part in controlling.
Can any expert please through some light on this?

Define a std cost for this by product through MR21 or CK11n
1. Maintain -ve qty in BOM
2. When you execute std cost for the header material, cost for by product recovery would get adjusted in the std cost
3. During production, when you do GR/GI, your by product would come into stock at the same std cost
4. In foundry process, when you issue this by product, it will be issued at same value

Actually, there is a Nik/Nikon connection — but I am pretty sure it is irrelevant to the OP's question. The connection is that Capture NX2 was written as a joint venture between Nikon and Nik. (The name similarity is a coincidence.)
Capture NX2 is a cool program that incorporates the features of Nik's Viveza and Nikon's Raw processing engine, along with some other powerful image adjustment features. It provides, like Aperture, a losses workflow. Unlike Aperture, the adjustments (Edit Steps in C-NX terminology) are saved in the original NEF file along with the un-altered raw data. Multiple versions can be saved in a single NEF.

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.

How should CMYK colors be built? Is it OK to use all three of CMY?

This is a general question I'm posing here because I think it is the forum that is frequented by the largest number of people with real world print project management experience.
The question is: in an ideal world, how should CMYK color be built? Lets assume I know the LAB values for several colors I want to reproduce accurately on an offset printing press. I can install the correct ICC Profile in my color management settings, input the LAB values, and let InDesign do the conversion to CMYK for me.
However, I have been told by print professionals that, if at all possible, don't define a color swatch using all three CMY inks. Instead, use a maximum of two of CMY plus a K percentage. In other words, the ideal for printing CMYK screen tint mixes is to use percentages that use high GCR formulas - i.e. replace CMY with K where possible. This, so the the theory goes, helps to increase color stability on press.
I guess in reality I have two questions: is that rule of thumb valid/useful? And if so...do I have any control over it in InDesign?

That was my personal opinion guys as a contributor to this forum thread - it should be taken as an opinion only of course :) Using either or is obviously perfectly OK, I'm just a fan of using MDT to build and capture source images over Configuration Manager
for a variety of reasons.
My main point was that a build and capture Task Sequence can be used regardless of the requirement for a thin or thick image and that you can pause and resume a build and capture process to suit your requirements (and in my opinion MDT would be perfect for
your situation). You should of course use Config Manager to deploy your Windows 8.1 custom image if you have that option.
I've used capture media in the past and wouldn't recommend it. There's no technical reason, just my opinion :)

How should we delete the files & directories, which made by Rescue & Recovery Software.

I use Rescue and Recovery Software in Think Pad W500.
Carelessly, I made the backup files in the my HDD drive, which is not for backup use and for my daily use of my work.
Then, i found the one directory of Rescue and Recovery, and then i tried to delete the file including the related files.
(the directory capacity is 50GB, not small.)
I was not able to delete bot only the directories and the files.
I thought could delete them, once i un-installed the rescue and recovery soiftware.
I am looking for how to delete them.

Which version of r&r do you have? R&R during the install will create folder \RRbackups on your Primary drive(local), typically your C drive. If you uninstall R&R, it will remove the \RRbackups folder. IF the r&r software is installed, you can delete backups by Launching r&r, advanced menu, click the ADVANCED tab at the top of the screen, select delete backups. ONLY DELETE 1 at a time!! From the newest, working your way back to the oldest.
I have 2 drives. C and D. I backup to my Second hard drive, thus I have 2 \RRbackups folders, one on each drive. If i uninstall, r&r, it cleans up the C drive correctly, but does NOTHING to the second hard drive. I have to go to the second hard drive, Modify the security access to allow me to delete the \RRbackups folder. If I reinstall r&r, then point to my second hard drive for backups, I believe it says " backups already there, would you like to keep them" or similar message. Next time I install R&R, I can verify if this is correct.
Please detail if you have 1 HDD, or 2 HDD. If possible, please post a screen shot of the Folders on the drive you are having issues with. It sounds like you were backing up to, maybe USB, then 1 day you accidentaly backed up to the LOCAL drive.

How to block writing to a file which is already in use?

Hi all,
There is a certain file on a network drive. Multiple users have the rights to read and write to this file.
I want to acccess this file via a LabView VI.
If someone is already accessing this file I want to create a message like "File is already in use by user XXX, therefore acccess is read-only".
Something like this is implemented in Windows (e.g. Excel...).
How can I implement this in LabView? The access from each user is done with the same VI running on different computers.
Of course I can create an .ini file, where I write the user which is currently accessing the file and block write acces for others.
Is there a better way to do this?

Does Excel tell you who is using the other file?
If yes, does it do this only for its own file types or also for files like CSV or TXT?
If it only does it for its types, then this is probably built into the definition of the file somehow (although I would assume that would mean that everytime Excel opens the file it also needs to save it?).
I would try checking in the MSDN whether this is something that Windows supports.
If not, the only option that comes to mind is the INI file you suggested.

How to I enable other users on the same machine to use Office products?

My husband has the system set up so the kids accounts are secured by NetNanny.
We noticed tonight that the kids can't use Word, Excel or Powerpoint from their accounts.
You can only see it in my account. You can't see it in my husband's Administrator account.
How do we change this? We'd like all users to be able to use the Office products.

I figured it out. The other users had only read access to the programs. Had to change it to read/write.

How to set IPaddress to a VM which has Linux OS using powershell remoting.

I have downloaded the SetLinuxVM scripts for setting the ipaddress of virtual machine which has Linux as OS. I have 2 different Hyperv host machines for Eg: HostServer1 and HostServer2 and I have installed SetLinuxVM scripts on server HostServer1 but
my LinuxVM is created in HostServer2 and is highly available.
Now I have development server from where I connect to any of these HyperV servers remotely .
I have created powershell remote session from my development server to HostServer1 where SetLinuxVM scripts are installed and excuting the script as given below.
Set-LinuxVM -VMName "TestLinuxVM" -Manager "Hyper-V" -VMHost "HostServer2"
-Username "root" -Password "Gen#123" -Hostname "TestLinuxSrv " -IPAddress "192.168.2.2" -SubnetMask "255.255.0.0" -GatewayAddress "192.168.2.1" -PrimaryDNSAddress "8.8.8.8"
Even though I am providing the -VMHost and even if the VM is in cluster its not executing the scripts and I am getting the error WMI not available.
Its working fine if the scripts are installed on HostServer2 where the LinuxVM is created but my question is that do we need to install the scripts on all HyperV hosts then whats the use of the above parameter -VMHost "HostServer2" because if
the hyperv host is remotely connected using powershell we need to provide the VMHost name in the above scripts.
From the examples provided in the SetLinuxVM module my understanding is that if the SetLinuxVM module is installed in any of the Hyperv servers which are in a cluster and even though the VM is created in any of the servers and is highly available by just
providing the VMHost for that particular VM we can set the IPadress ,hostname etc by connecting remotely using powershell to the HostServer which has SetLinuxVM module by providing the VMHost name in the above script .
Hoping that my problem will be resolved at your earliest convenience.

I am not familiar with these scripts, but in general any modules must exist on the target Hyper-V server.
The commands do not appear to be suing SCVMM, in which case you would execute the PowerShell script at the VMM console machine.

How should I set up my VI so that I can use the linear fit coefficient data analysis program, when my values are coming from while loops within a sequence structure?

I'm attempting to create a calibration program, using the printer port, and a Vernier Serial Box by modifying a calibration program designed for the serial box.
There are six calibration points, and to collect them, I have it controlled by while loops so that the numbers are taken when a button is pushed, and this is inside a sequence structure so that I can get the six different points. I feed these numbers into two different arrays (for x and y values) and then try to use the linear coefficient analysis on these points, but the values for the slope and intercepts it returns are not correc

If I cut out the array and coefficient analysis, and feed the same numbers in directly without the while loop and sequence structures, it produces the proper values... I don't know why the numbers it is producing are different, and I'd really like to know.

I would use a data manager sub-vi that would be called by each from of the sequence structure that produced a data point. The data manager sub-vi could auto append new items or could place items in a specific entry of an array. Later on when you want to calculate the linear fit, call the sub-vi to return the array of values.

IPod shuffle 4th Gen. How to start playing podcast from the very beginning once again?

Hello to everybody in this forum,
I bought a new iPod shuffle 4th Gen music player for about two weeks ago. I love this device, it works great as well as it's sound quality amazes me after Windows Mobile 6.0 Phone, Transcend MP3 and even Samsung Galaxy Ace devices use experience. It's much better and it made me got used to podcasts feature I never tried before, But if I want to replay the very same podcast item from the very beginning - I simply don't know how to rewind it back. If I press next/prev buttons it doesn't help. The podcast itself starts to play at about 5 minutes before a podcast's end as if I were listened to the whole podcast continuously from the beginning of a podcast. A podcast appears to be divided into chapters and I don't understand how to switch chaprers. Even if I did, the amount of chapters is big and it's inconvenient to swith every chapter with prev button pressed. Shuffle's manual tells me nothing on how to get things work I want it to. Any help is appreciated.

How to erase my HD and run my imac once again?!

ok...I have no access to Mac desktop or disk utility with command+R I have no DVD of mac softwere to restore it. I can only acces single user mode only and Fsck -fy doesn't do anything. oh and I have windows bootcamp so one partition is has windows. So....can I do anything to erase everything and start my mac computer from the very beginning??!?!?!

If your Mac is new enough to have come pre-installed with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion or Mavericks, you should be able to restart into Internet Recovery (Command+Option+R). Hold those keys until you see a spinning globe. You will need an internet connection to do this. This will boot into Apple's servers for Recovery. From there, you should be able to use Disk Utility to repartition your internal drive into one partition and label it Macintosh HD. Then you should be able to reinstall the most current version of the OS X that came pre-installed (e.g. Lion 10.7.5, Mountain Lion 10.8.5, Mavericks 10.9.4).
