How should I upload a LR Web Gallery to my dot mac account

I want to create some galleries in my Iweb site using Light room. what should I fill in to the drop down box for the hosting site url. I ultimately want to call in the galleries from a Freeway 5 Pro generated site that will be the visitor interface. Would it be better to export the files and and them move them into a folder on my IWeb site?

To upload directly from LR you will need to enter the standard details for any FTP client which your hosting service should provide you, that is the server address (usually ftp.yourwebsitename.com), your user name, password and the folder you wish to upload to.. You can also export the created site and then upload it with a different FTP client if you wish and you may find this better as the built in client in LR does have a few problems on some set ups. However you will still require the same details.

  • Publish web gallery to a different .mac account

    Hi Friends.
Can I publish web galleries to both of my .mac accounts from the same Mac?
It seems like I might have to create a different user account on the MAc itself and make the other .mac account the default for that different user. I would really rather not do that, as I have one iPhoto library with all of my photos for every aspect of my life and work.
    Thanks for any guidance.

To make is more convenient to do that you could create a second user account, set it up for the other .Mac account and publish from there. You could either use two separate libraries or put your library on an external HD so both account could use it without ownership/permissions issues.
You can also set up fast user switching so you wouldn't have to log out of one account to get to the other.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Are you running the latest version of iPhoto, 7.0.2? Additionally, do you have any quote marks, tildes (~) or other non standard characters in the gallery name or file names?

  • How do I upload a slideshow in an email from a mac?

how do I upload a slideshow in an email from a mac?

Your best bet would be to send the slideshow through a huge file sharing service.  Most if not all of them are free.  The top 3 majors ones I can think of off the top of my little head are:
    Rapidshare
    Transfer Big Files
    Mega

  • Slow attachment upload with Exchange Web Services (Outlook 2011 for Mac?)

We're experiencing slow attachment upload with Exchange Web Services versus MAPI, OWA, and Outlook Anywhere.  I'm not totally certain that it is Exchange Web Services or specifically Outlook 2011 for Mac.  I attempted to test with the Mac Mail
App, but it makes it difficult to tell when the attachment has been uploaded and the file has been sent.  Here's what we're seeing (10mb file):
    MAPI / RPC/HTTPS / OWA: 10-15 seconds upload time
Exchange Web Services (Outlook 2011 for Mac): 60-90 seconds upload time
Thoughts? Any idea why we would see such a drastic difference in attachment upload time?  Any way to prove definitively that it is Exchange Web Services vs. Outlook 2011 for Mac?  We've tried it from multiple locations with multiple different machines,
and although the upload times vary (some locations have more bandwidth etc) the ratios remain similar.

    Hi ,
Does all the user occurred the issue ?
If only special user, I recommend you do the following steps and test:
1.Remove and re-add the email account and check if this helps to resolve the issue.
To remove and add the email accounts:
Open Outlook > GO to Tools > Accounts > Click on "Minus" symbol to remove and "Plus" to add an Email account.
    2.Creating a new user profile:

    3. If the issue persists, rebuild the data base and check the results:

  • How do I get my bridge web gallery to actually work in my photoshop website

    Hi
Can anyone explain to me in simple english (please - as I'm just a learner) how I get my web gallery (created in bridge) to work with my photoshop website.
This is what I have done so far:-
    (1) I've created my root folder called 'test'. It has 3 subfolders called:-
    - 'page1' (which is my homepage created as said below)
    - 'page2-gallery' (where I want my bridge web gallery to be)
    - 'page3-other' (for another page link - not important here).
    (2) I have also created a simple website in photoshop (my homepage said above), using the slice tool and have saved it by saveforweb. So I now have my html website file and which works when tested online. One of the slice segments is for my 'gallery' icon on the homepage which, when clicked, should go directly to my bridge web gallery created.
    (3) I have also created a web gallery in bridge and I saved it applying the 'savelocation' as being in page2 of my root folder. But when I checked it online the 'gallery' icon on my homepage does nothing. I then tried saving the gallery to my root folder instead (i.e. not in the page2 of my root folder) but with zero results.
    (4) I've then dragged the root folder's html file (my website's homepage) into dreamweaver, clicked the 'gallery' icon and tried to apply the page2 of my root folder file to the properties inspector's link box (bottom of dreamweaver workspace) - but this wouldn't work either.
I know that I must be close to solving this riddle and so can anyone help me please.

  • Uploading photos through web gallery not working.

    People
When people access my web galleries and use the upload feature and it accepts the uploaded files, but, the photos don't appear in the web gallery or get synched to my iPhoto. However, using the upload feature through email does work!
    Any ideas on that?
Also, once synched with web galleries on my iPhoto, how come the photos don't automatically appear in the event that the person uploaded the photo to in the fist place? The photos appear in the event under Web Gallery on iPhoto but not the actual event. Does that make sense?
    Cheers
    Al

    Same prob here (EU).
Looks like uploading through the web interface (while browsing the web gallery) doesn't work.
    E-mailing a picture works a treat, though...
Tried also using firefox (I'm on a MBP with all the latest software versions) but no luck!
I've looked also at the contents of my iDisk (it had to be in the loop!) and indeed found that the web gallery is under <.macmember_name>/Web/Sites/gallery/<id> and every picture that's in the gallery has its own folder named after the picture name containing 5 files: *large.jpg, medium.jpg, web.jpg, square.jpg and reflect-medium.jpg* (their meaning is quite obvious...)
The pictures I sent through the web interface didn't produce results in my iDisk whatsoever, while the one I sent using mail had this new folder-files created in the right way...
I think this upload feature is seriously flawed...

  • How do I save a LR web gallery?

    Hi,
I have created a web gallery using TTG template, and exported the gallery for upload. However, before I finish in LR3 with the gallery, is there a way to save the gallery and all the settings for potential editing downstream?
Thanks for any help (pretty new to LR)

You can always save your settings as a template - in the left panel of Web.
But a tip is to save the gallery's pictures as a new collection. A collection, as well as grouping images from one or more folders, also quietly remembers the last Web settings which were applied to it.

  • IPhoto doesn't bring in new uploaded photos from web gallery

Published album to web gallery; had folks upload pics to that one; auto-sync into iPhoto worked fine. Updated OSX to 10.5.3 yesterday; had more pics uploaded from folks to the web gallery; iPhoto is not syncing anymore. Running latest upgrades. Suggestions (besides rolling back the upgrade)?

Well, tried Disk Utility to repair permissions after the upgrade and that solved the issue somehow even though it didn't find issues related to iPhoto.

  • Uploading photos to web gallery.

I am thinking of a full subscription to .mac and have been viewing the online vids.
One of the videos was promoting the benefit of uploading the photo from an iPhone, and the screen clearly shows 4 choices when you're in Photo.
    The 4 choices are....
    Use as wallpaper
    Email photo
    Assign to contact
    Send to web gallery
The problem is that my iPhone (on the latest sofware release of 1.1.4) does NOT have the 4th option 'Upload to web gallery'.
I have phoned Apple Tech Support but he was of no help whatsoever.
PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS 4TH OPTION ISSUE?
    Thank you.
    Speeddemon.

    Check this link.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Dotmac/WebGallery/en/psh384.html
You must have a .Mac account set up on your iPhone. That’s the trigger that tells the iPhone to show the Send to Web Gallery button when you tap the Send button when viewing a picture.
Next, you must have iPhoto version 7.0.1. The version of iPhoto that ships with iLife ‘08 is version 7.0. Use Software Update to obtain 7.0.1 and update iPhoto.
Finally, in iPhoto create a Web Gallery. When you click the Web Gallery button, be sure to enable the Allow Photo Uploading By Email option.

  • Others uploading to my web gallery

I was hoping someone here can help. I have set up a web gallery from imovie, where people can view my movies, but i was hoping that they could also upload to it and put their videos in. I thought this was possible, but for some reason, the upload button does not appear.
Have i got the wrong end of the stick, and its not actually possible, or am i missing something. If you can shed light on this, that would be great!

did you make yours in imovie or iphoto?
You may well be correct here. Test galleries were first duplicated in both applications for comparison purposes in earlier version, later deleted, and re-published by single application with "Upload" option selected to see what it would do. Last month the 2007 photos were archived to DVD and iMovie "events" were deleted (keeping Mini-DV tapes as archives) as part of my annual "Spring Cleaning" effort. All I really remember was being presented with the option to select the "Upload" option and using either a "Browser" and/or "E-Mail" application to allow relatives and "party goers" to add their own files but not one person elected to do so and I stopped including the option.

  • How to speed up loading of web gallery on .Mac??

On my .Mac web pages I have both web galleries created from iPhoto, and Photo Albums created from iWeb. All have been created from high res (8 MB+) image files. In iWeb I choose a smaller file size when uploading, to in turn get a faster loading when people view my site. However, I have not found a way to do this when creating a web gallery. Hence, my galleries load much slower than my albums. Am I missing something? Is there a way built into iPhoto (I have checked preferences with no luck), to make it upload/download reduced size image files? Thanks.

I was afraid of that. Thanks for taking the time to try it out. I guess I'll have to stick to Photo Albums if I want fast loading, but I really like the features of the gallery. Thanks again.

  • Importing photos others have uploaded to my web gallery into my library

My web galleries seem to be working great...a few people have uploaded their own photos and they have synched down to my web galleries. But what is the best way to import my friends' photos into my iPhoto library? I want them to appear in my Events, not just under the Web Gallery section.
I tried to select my friends photos and copy them to my library and it didn't look like it worked, so I tried again. Then I noticed that all of a sudden I had 100 photos in my web gallery, when I only uploaded 20 and my friend added another 10. There were several duplicates of each.
Help! What's the best way to do this? Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you publish a gallery as you indicated, hidden, visitors to your public web gallery will not see it and have access to it unless they are given the URL by you. Conversely, visitors to the hidden gallery will not have access to the other galleries from that hidden gallery.

  • How do you automatically update a Web Gallery from a Smart Album?

I just installed iPhoto '08, and like the new features. I have published several Web Galleries, which are great for people who don't have Macs. I am publishing a smart album of all of the photos taken in the last month (Date is in the last 1 Month). However, when I add new photos, they show up automatically in the Smart Album, but they don't show up automatically in the Web Gallery. Is there a way to do this in iPhoto '08? Is there a way to do this with Automator? Thanks for your help.

    TeeJay6:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. No you can't because the web gallery is a separate entity from the smart album. Once the gallery is created in iPhoto you have to add photos to it manually and then click on the icon to update it online.
    Do you Twango?
