How shrink size of display without affecting other applications (i.e.not change "settings" at My Computre)?

Cannot see the whole page but size is right for word, games, and other applications on my computer.

You can modify the <b>layout.css.devPixelsPerPx</b> and increase or decrease the value in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of fonts and other elements in Firefox.
*The layout.css.devPixelsPerPx pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely (resolution 0.1 or 0.05).
*You can use values between 0.05 and 1.0 to reduce elements in size or use values greater than 1.0 to magnify and make elements larger (percentage divided by DPI, % / DPI).
If the web pages needs to be adjusted after changing this pref then you can look at Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint.
*Default FullZoom Level - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/6965
*NoSquint - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/2592

  • Why are two pages yoked when I prepare a newsletter in Pages?  How can I delete one without the other?

Why are two pages yoked when I prepare a newletter?  How do I delete one without the other?

They are all part of one Section. Just as you do not (hopefully) rip pages out at random from books, the pages of a Section are linked by the text that flows from one to the other.
If you want to move or delete particular page/s Insert a Section Break at the end of the page before.

Backup you library and restore to the new computer.
iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive
    or
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
    - After all the media is on the new computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking one the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.

Are there known issues concerning double clicking in FF? We found bug 542068. Most of the issue we found have to do with Flash. Does it affect other applications (JSP/Javascript) too?

If there is a pattern of the application working up to Firefox 3.6.3 and not working starting with Firefox 3.6.4, there could be a problem with trying to communicate events between firefox.exe (which hosts pages) and plugin-container.exe (which hosts some plugins). You can tweak your settings to force plugins to run in firefox.exe to see whether this is the problem. This article has some background information on that:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins
''Do you know if there are problems with Firefox 3.6 when you double click in a JSP/JAVA/Javascript application?''
No, I don't know. Obviously I can't read every post here, but I haven't read about it before.
Is it a stupid question to ask: why does that matter?? To fix the application to work in Firefox 3.6 and above, we need to see a page that works on other browsers and fails in Firefox. It doesn't need to be the whole application, just enough to demonstrate the problem so that if we solve it, then you can apply that learning back to your application.

  • How to enable an axis without affecting the others ?

I use an 7340 4 axis card with MID7654 driver unit. I have to make several independant programs, using each 1 or 2 of the 4 available axis on the card. I wonder how to enable/disable a single axis without affecting the other, because the "enable axis" VI is not three states : an axis can only be enabled or disabled, but not "not affected". I didn't find any NIMotion VI to do it or to give "all axis" information.
    Any idea ?

    Hi,
It is possible to check the states of the axis with the function "Read per axis status".
It is possible to eanable and disable axis with the function "Enable axis".
        Hope it can help.

  • Have 2 iPads on same apple acct. how wipe just one without affecting other?

I have 2 iPads on same apple account. How do I wipe one to give to my wife without affecting the other one. (I once deleted some bookmarks and they were deleted on both iPads.)

    Hi joanfromgalax,
The resource below explains what to do before you give your iPad to your wife.  Follow the steps in the order given.  If you sign out of the iCloud account as instructed in step 2, then the data will not be deleted.
What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351
Before you sell or give away your iOS device, make sure that you've removed all of your personal information. Follow these steps to protect your data and get your device to its factory default state for the new owner:
    Back up your device.
    Sign out of iCloud:
Tap Settings > iCloud, scroll down, and tap Sign Out. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account.
Tap Sign Out again, tap Delete from My iPhone, then enter your password.
Go to Settings > General > Reset, then tap Erase All Content and Settings.
This will completely erase your device, including any credit or debit cards you added for Apple Pay and any photos, contacts, music, or apps. It will also turn off iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.
If you're using iOS 7 or later and have Find My iPhone turned on, your Apple ID and password will be required. After you provide your password, the device will be erased and removed from your account so that the next owner can activate it.
Your content won't be deleted from iCloud when you erase your device.
Contact your carrier for guidance on transferring service to the new owner. If you aren't using a SIM-card with your device, you can contact them to get help transferring service to the new owner.
When the new owner turns on the device for the first time, Setup Assistant will guide them through the setup process.
Important: Don't manually delete contacts, calendars, reminders, documents, photo streams, or any other iCloud data while signed in to your iCloud account, or the content will also be deleted from the iCloud servers and all of your devices that are signed in to iCloud.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How to format my computer without affecting the software installed?

how do I format my computer without affecting the software installed?

You can, but if you don't format the drive using the Zero Data option all your personal files will still be accessible to someone who knows how to gain access to them. If that's not a concern then here are two options (easy and not so easy):
    The Easy Way
    1. First, boot from your Tiger DVD, select your language and click on the Continue button, then select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, select your boot hard drive, go to the First Aid tab, and click the button for Repair Disk. Repeat this until no trouble is found. Then click on the Repair Permissions button. Then quit DU, return to the installer and shutdown the computer for a couple of minutes.
This will assure that the drive is OK and permissions are OK.
    2. Next, boot to single user mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
    3. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each command line:
    /sbin/fsck -yf
    mount -uw /
    rm /private/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when you reboot, it will send you to the startup wizard where you can start a new user without reinstalling.
    The Not So Easy Way
Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    First, back up the data:
    1) Shut down all Virtual PCs. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
    2) Clone to an external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner.
Next, prepare the machine for the new buyer:
    3) Deauthorize the computer in iTunes! Deauthorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
    4) Remove Open Firmware passwords
    5) Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
    Install a fresh OS:
    6) Insert the OS X install CD/DVD.
    7) Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
    8) Run Disk Utility from the file menu and erase the internal hard drive (optionally zero all data).
    9) Install OS X.
    10) Reboot the computer.
    11) From the welcome screen, you can skip the registration step by typing command-Q.
    12) When prompted, create an account (it will be an admin account).
    13) From your new admin account, configure networking.
    14) Then use Software Update to bring your system and all of it's applications up to date.
    15) From Disk Utility, repair permissions on the new volume.
Now delete the account you just created:
    16) Boot from a different volume (e.g. a firewire drive, if available)
    17) Clean up the image using the following terminal commands:
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/BootCache.playlist
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/volinfo.database
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/vm/swap*
    18) Now you can get rid of the admin account you used to set up the machine Use the terminal:
    prompt> nicl -raw /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/netinfo/local.nidb -delete /users/<admin>
    prompt> rm -r /Volumes/<imagevol>/Users/<admin>
    prompt> rm /Volumes/<imagevol>/var/db/.AppleSetupDone
    19) Shut down and ship it to your buyer. When they get it, it will boot to the Welcome screen just like a factory Mac, except that it's better because it's completely up to date.

  • I am sharing a account with my mother. I would like to change my itune account to a separate account. How can I do that without affecting her itune account?

I share a itune account with my mother.  I would like to set up my own itune account keeping all my info and library from my itune account.  How do I go about setting up my own account without affecting her account and her itunes?  It seems if she gets a new app it appears on my phone and visa versa.  After I change my account will there be a problem syncing it with my phone and ipad?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
The simple answer is yes you can. On a single user computer, the user can have secondary iCloud accounts, which they can add through the system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. The only drawback here is that only the primary iCloud account can use photo stream. This can be worked around by having a second user account on the Mac. Each user account could then have a different primary iCloud account, one for you and one for him, your account could then receive your photo stream pictures.
Are you also aware that you can have iCloud on your PC and download your photos stream pictures to it.

  • How to add cover sheet without affecting page numbering?

No replies yet, so perhaps I should change the question to "Can one add a new section break at the beginning of a document?"
Or "How do you apply a section break on a Master Page so that when the Master Page is added at the beginning of a document, it does not change the numbering of the pages that follow?"
Thanks very much for any help!
[ORIGINAL QUESTION: Is it possible to add a cover sheet to an InDesign document without affecting the existing page numbering? I have a series of chapters from a book that need to be posted individually and require a cover sheet. Each chapter begins on a recto page and the page numbering is set with a prefix (the chapter number) and page number, e.g., page 1.1. I can manage to add the cover sheet without the other pages shuffling, but the cover page always becomes page 1.1 and the text thus begins on page 1.2 (even though it's a recto page). Is there any way to do this without having to manually reset all the page numbering in the Numbering & Section Options window?
Thanks for any help you can give---many such documents to work on....  Also, never submitted a question before, so hope I've done this correctly!  ---JCI]

There are really two things to consider here. First is that page numbering normally controls which side of the spine a page is on (and switching sides can cause all sorts of problems if you have master text frames). Second is preseving the existing numbering.
It's no problem to reset the numbering by starting a new section after you add the new page to the front of the file, but if this is a facing pages file you will want to add two pages to start so the rest of the doc doesn't switch sides, then start a new section and reset the start number (sorry, no way I know to do this other than manually). Now you can delete one of the pages in the first section and reset the number on the remaining new page to odd or even as appropriate and add your content.

  • How do I adjust the width of a spry tab container without affecting others on website?

I have a spry tab container with 3 tabs and I want to add more width to the container as a whole, but when I change the width in the CSS styles panel, it affects all the containers on my site. How can I make a change that only affects the one container I'm working on? Thanks!

    No problem. Here you go.
    http://victorylcms.org/newsite/recipes.html
As you can see, I have it as two separate spry tabs. I want one that goes the width of the page, but if I change the width it affects the other spry tab I have here.

I know how to add more tabs, I just don't know how to adjust the width on the top container only.

  • HT204022 How do I delete photos from my mac, without affecting other iOS devices (iphone)?

Hi there, I only have a MBA with small storage.  I wish to delete the sync'ed photo from my MBC (currently 5+GB), as I use an external HD to back up my photos anyways.  But I do not want to affect the same photos stored on my iPhone.
when I delete photos in iPhoto will it delete the same ones on my iPhone via iCloud or the next time I plug in my phone?
    THANKS!

when I delete photos in iPhoto will it delete the same ones on my iPhone via iCloud or the next time I plug in my phone?
If you send the photos to your phone using iTunes Photo Sync (iOS: Syncing with iTunes), yes then the albums  and photos that are no longer available on your mac, will be remove from your synced IOS device. To keep them permanently on your phone, save them to the Camera Roll.

  • Mirrored Display. How to sleep MBP display without closing LID to keep the machine vented?

I just got my hands on a 15" MBP and I currently have a third party Display that I have connected to my Display output port. Mirrored display, and tried the clamshell mode but machine got quite hot by running in it that way. I was wondering if there is any way to keep the lid open while the mirrored mode on the external Display still runs?
Also, if there are any third party software that does give me flexibility as to which display to sleep and such, and at least have control over the display output options, that would be a gem. Appreciate it if anyone has that info?
Thanks a lot for taking time to help! Happy holiday and a great year to come for all!
    Miles of smiles,
    Jimbo

    Captfred,
I've tried what the article suggests but it only seems to work if you want to wake the computer when it is sleeping or the screen saver is on.
What I am trying to find out is how to start the computer when it is turned off without having to open it. I would imagine that there would be some key combination on the keyboard or perhaps a way to program the on/off button on the side of the Apple external display to do that.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Modify one file in book without affecting others

Hi! I am working on formatting a long book, with many chapters. I have an updated manuscript and so am switching out existing text in InDesign files for new text. Whenever I do this, it updates the entire book, page numbers, etc., which takes a long time and is unnecessary. How can I set InDesign so it won't update or sync the entire book, until I'm done with this process and am ready for it to update/sync the whole thing? I know I can retrieve each file (chapter) individually and work on it, but it is much easier to open the chapters from the book palette. I work in CS5.
    Thanks very much!!
