How small of a file can I make to hold three hours of audio?

I currently have a 3 hour audio segment that is about 200MB. Can you give me some tips on what I can do in Garage Band to make this file smaller? I export the audio in MP3 when I'm done.
Thanks!

if these are audio recordings, and high quality is not most important, Save As and "Compact"

    When I create a video in iMovie how big a file can I make it (web-streaming, cd) so it can be published in iWeb and viewed?

    Regardless of how you embed the file in your iWeb page have you tried reducing the file size. One mtehod is to open it in QT Player 7 and use the File ➙ Export for Web and use the Desktop setting:
    Click to view full size
    That can reduce the file size considerable and keep good image quality.

    Check to see if the resolution has been changed in System Preferences.

  • How big of a file can I receive?

    Not sure if there is an error or if the file is too big.  My other email provider will allow an email with several pictures attached to be received.  When I forwarded it - it failed.  Then when the sender sent it to my verizon account it failed as well.  We just got our FIOS connnected. SO, is there a limit as to how big of a file can be received by Verizon FIOS?

    i am pretty sure that if you are doing it through verizon.net emai webmail that it is 8 mb,  and if you do it through an email client like windows mail/outlook/entourage that you can do upto 20mb.
    These are the limits for *sending* attachments from Verizon. The only limit on receiving is whether it would put you over your storage quota for your verizon.net mailbox. (Limit is 2 gigs for primary accounts and 250 megs for subs, includes mail in ALL folders.)
    You said sending it failed. What error did you get? Was it an immediate error or a bounceback message?

  • How small Standard Cycle time can be defined in OEE standard?

    Hello,
    There's OEE standard definition in MII and it allows to define standard cycle time.
    I'd like to know how small Standard Cycle time can be defined in OEE standard?
    In my customer case, their product is very small and SFC size will be over than 10,000.
    (Please imagine screw.)
    This screw's required process time at resource A is 0.72 seconds.
    Then, they defined the standard cycle time as 0.0002 hour.
    0.72 / 3600 = 0.0002
    Does OEE report allows such small standard cycle time?
    If not, how we can define OEE standard and use OEE report functionality?

    Hi Nick,
    Main question here is: does business want to keep those members as separate members or it wants to merge them.
    If they want to keep them as separate then you have to come up with a better conversion procedure.
    If they want to merge them then you have to find out how to find another member to merge with.
    You should also implement same procedure when you are going to load Transaction data.

  • Does Adobe Send allow you to select how many days your files can be downloaded - as with Adobe Send Now? Also, why don't I see the virus scanning message any longer with "Send" versus "Send Now"?

    Does Adobe Send allow you to select how many days your files can be downloaded - as with Adobe Send Now? Also, why don't I see the virus scanning message any longer with "Send" versus "Send Now"?

    We relied upon the "days available for download" to get people to take
    action more quickly. The "virus scanning" progress bar was simply another
    way of knowing this activity was actually taking place - unless this is
    written somewhere in the Adobe Send User Guide.....wherever that is.

  • When I open a document from any of my files, it only opens in a small screen and I can't make the screen bigger.

    Hello!  I'm hoping someone can help me with a recent problem on my MacBook Pro.  When I try to open a document from one of my files, it only seems to open in a small screen and I can't seem to make that screen any bigger to work on it.  Has this happened to anyone else before?  Thank you for your answer in advance!

    Oh, I wanted to add that trying to drag the little diagonal lines to the right of the page doesn't seem to work.

  • .gif files can I mak them?

    I want to create my own Icons. Can I make my own .gif files using Java graphics? I know how to make a .java file using java; can I convert this to a .gif file so I can add it to my Java program as a Icon or .gif file?
    For example,
    cutAction.putValue(Action SMALL_ICON, new ImageIcon("cut.gif"));I want to be able to design my own .gif like the "cut.gif" in the preceding code. I want to do this using Java graphics. Can I simply make a .java graphics panel and save it as a .gif? This question might be pretty far off but I just need a push in the right direction to get the wheels rolling. If anybody could give me a hand the help would be much appreciated.

    Does PNG format support compression in general, and
    how can you achive this with ImageIO in particular?1) Yes.
    2) Apparently it can't.
    Here's how I found out:import java.util.*;
    import javax.imageio.*;
    public class TestPngImageWriter {
      public static void main(String[] argv) {
        Iterator i = ImageIO.getImageWritersBySuffix("png");
        while(i.hasNext()) {
          Object o = i.next();
          Class c = o.getClass();
          System.out.println(c.getName());
          showParam((ImageWriter) o);
      private static void showParam(ImageWriter iw) {
        ImageWriteParam iwp = iw.getDefaultWriteParam();
        System.out.println("WriteParam:\n  " + iwp);
        System.out.println("It " + (iwp.canWriteCompressed() ? "CAN" : "can NOT") +
    " write compressed images.");
    }That's with JDK 1.4.2. 1.5 may do better. Otherwise, it seems like an enhancement request is in order.

  • How big a .pdf file can be?

    I produce a pdf-binder with 1500 several pdf-pages made of scanned paper clippings.
    this binder contains an index to browse the several pages and must be produced on CD.
    the filesize is more than 500 MB, so the performance of this CDs is not so well.
    now my questions:
    how big a acrobat pdf-file can be?
    how many pages can a .pdf document include?
    any tips to boost the reading performance on the CD?

    First, you have to investigate what's the max size your and your recipient's mail providers permit. In many cases, that is the main limiting factor. Next, you need to configure the mail program you use to avoid auto-zip'ing the attachments.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements and .MOD files - can I make them compatible?

    Any advice gratefully received!..  I have a laptop running on Windows 7, I've just installed PE10 and although I can import the footage from the hard drive into the time line, it's looking de-interlaced.  There is audio and picture, just not a decent picture!  Does anyone know how I can work around this?? any tips would be a help.  (The footage is from a Canon Legria FS200)

    Thank you both - I found it, and changed the file extension to .mpg
    Unfortunately the footage looks awful in the timeline.  I'm trying to get Adobe to help me and they keep promising me a call back 'within an hour and half!'  It's now been a week of these false promises and no-one will get back to me.  I've had 2 online chats where they say they can't help with any technical issue and that I need to call the helpline, which is what I'm doing anyway!...
    Might have to just send it back soon and start with some other editing software!

  • How "old" of a file can Logic 8 open?

    ok, this is going to sound funny but... I've got this friend (seriously) that just got Logic Studio. They are trying to open a Logic file that we did together back on ver. 4.7 and I'm being told that Logic won't open the file. They're getting an error message saying something about opening a 7.3 file instead (sorry I couldn't get the full error message from them).
    Does anyone know of a "cut off" in regards to how far back L8 can go when opening older Logic songs?
    Thanks much!

    Thanks for the info. I tried to open an older file as well to see if I had the same problem my freind was... So it would seem that Logic 5 is the cut off. Logic Pro 8 cannot open files created any earlier than that! I just tried to open a backup file from 2002 and I get a message saying that "this format is not compatablewith this Logic Pro version. Please load first into Logic Pro version 7.2.1 or earlier to convert this project". That only be mildly annoying if I.. oh, had a verion of 7.2.1 available. Do I need to uninstall 8, try to find a version of 7.2.1, go through all my old files, ere save them, uninstall, reinstall... I believe the word is.. OYE!!!!
    Now THAT... is not good news. I've got tons of archival files from around that era and never deramed I'd not be able to open them a mere 5 years later. I'm sure there's a work around for this and obviously, my fiend and I aren't the only ones that are going to run into this.
    Thanks again for the feedback and help!

  • Is there a limit to how big the video file can be, storage size or pixel size, when inserting in a powerpoint?

    When I add a video file to a ppt file using adobe presenter 9 it will now work when it reaches that slide.  the video will start but at about 30 seconds in it will tear to green.  Sometimes it will return and sometimes it will just stop after that.  When it comes back it will continue until about 40-45 seconds in then on a fade to black it will not play anymore. The slider will continue as if it is playing but no output is seen on the screen.
    The video file in question is 165MB, 1920 x1080 pixels MP4
    If I convert it to smaller, 65MB, 1080 x 608 MP4 file everything works with no issue.
    Can anyone shed any light on this?
    Things I have checked:
    Adobe updated
    Office Updated
    Windows Updated
    Drivers updated
    64 bit consistency
    Source file validation
    Rebooted computer
    Flash installed
    Flash trust enabled

    Do you notice a quality difference when playing the two videos in Presenter? I'm not a fan of HD video in Presenter, mainly because of the reduced screen real estate that is available for video. I find that around 720 X 480 usually works just fine, and keeps the file bloat down (as you have seen just in your change you lost 100 MB). I don't believe there is a limitation on what you can place in Presenter, but it may be a matter of what can be delivered effectively. There may also be something odd in the encoding of the 1080 version of your video. If you re-encode it at the same resolution, with the settings of the lesser resolution video, does it play back as expected?
