How so select an RGB channel (like in AE)

I am trying to figure out how to toggle my display to show Red, Green, or Blue channels as output... much like you can in after effcts (see attached pic). Any help?

Hi dshrode,
You can only display composite video or alpha in Premiere Pro. Sorry.
You can submit feature requests and bug reports here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish .

  • LR4.1 - Tone Curve - how to adjust individual RGB channels?

    Hi,
    I am having trouble figuring out how to adjust the curve of individual RGB channels.  I am assuming the LR4 Tone Curve works like the PS Curves dialog with the channel dropdown.
    The LR4.1 Help says:
    To make adjustments to individual points on the tone curve, choose an option from the Point Curve menu, click the Edit Point Curve button , and do any of the following:
    Choose an option from the Channel pop-up menu. You can edit all three channels at once, or choose to edit the Red, Green, or Blue channel individually.
    When I click the little icon in the lower right corner of the Tone Curve panel, the panel shrinks so that I don't see the Regions sliders.  If I click again, they are visible again.  I can't find where to select one of the three indvidual channels.
    The Help refers to "the Point Curve menu."  Where is the Point Curve menu?  Is the Point Curve different from the Tone Curve?
    If I right-click (Windows) in the curve dialog, the context menu has a Show Info option.  I click it on/off and don't see any change or any info.  Where should I be looking for info?
    Thanks for any help here.
    John

    Good morning John,
    The point curve is the one without the sliders. The adjustments for the individual channels are only available with
    PV2012. You must be editing a file with PV2010 or 2003. When in PV2012 you will see " Channels:   RGB" below the curve window. Click on the doule triangles following the RGB
    to pick the individual channel.

  • How to adjust individual RGB channels?

    Hi there, is is possible on a iMac to adjust the individual RGB channels? if so, how? if not, is there anyway to control the colour temperature of the screen? thanks

    Hi,go to System Preferences and choose Displays, from there choose 'Color' and 'Calibrate' and then check the 'Expert Settings' box. You can then vary the colour temperature and each channel, saving your results as a profile so it can be easily switched or applied to an indiviual image in Preview.

  • How to select matching RGB and CMYK colors

    Starting from scratch for a client, how do I select matching RGB and CMYK pairs?
    Say we find a nice red colour in RGB for screen use, how do I then find the correct CMYK for print? And what assumptions do I have to make when doing this, if any?
    Would it be the same for the other way around (choose CMYK first for print and then find the RGB equivalent)
    Is it more sensible to start with a Pantone colour and then find the RGB and CMYK equivalents for that?
    Many thanks
    RobbieG
    (I'm working with Ai, Ps and Id CS6)

    Yes.  Better to start with Pantone reference books where you are viewing the color in a reflective environment.  As already mentioned, color on the monitor can be deceptive.  And, I think the others are basiclt saying that you should have everything calibrated and use color management policies in your apps.  There is a way to find CMYK equivalents using Photoshop's color palette.  Let's say you have an RGB Red as the foreground color in Photoshop.  If you double click on the swatch you will get Photoshop's color palette which lists the RGB percentages, CMYK percentages, LAB percentages, and HEX web color for that Red.  You can go further and select "Custom" and the Pasntone Spot color palette opens and gives you the closest Spot color value for that Red.  This however, depends on your color settings.  That's why I recommend you start with the Pantone swatch book and get the perecentages of CMYK from their formula guide which is set to industry standard color.

  • How to select rows from database like 10 to 20 etc

    Hi Experts,
    I want to select rows from database like row number 10 to row number 20.How could it be done?

    HI,
       First get the data into the INTERNAL TABLE from the FLAT FILE and read the internal table using the index.
        ex: 1) Read table ITAB index 10.
              2) Read table ITAB index 20.
    or use as said by  Srinivas Gurram, to get the range of records using where condition to the loop.

  • Automation plugin: how to select a spot channel when 2 channels have the same name?

    I have a CMYK document opened in photoshop. In "CHANNELS" panel, I just added 2 spot colors with the same name "Sport Color 1".
    As I click any of the spot channel to select it, the "Listener" plugin will output some c++ code like below:
    SPErr PlayeventSelect(/*your parameters go here*/void)
         PIActionDescriptor result = NULL;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeKeyID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeTypeID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeObjID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeEnumID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeClassID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimePropID;
         DescriptorTypeID runtimeUnitID;
         SPErr error = kSPNoError;
         // Move this to the top of the routine!
         PIActionDescriptor desc0000000000003980 = NULL;
         error = sPSActionDescriptor->Make(&desc0000000000003980);
         if (error) goto returnError;
              // Move this to the top of the routine!
              PIActionReference ref0000000000001A48 = NULL;
              error = sPSActionReference->Make(&ref0000000000001A48);
              if (error) goto returnError;
              error = sPSActionReference->PutName(ref0000000000001A48, classChannel, "Spot Color 1");
              if (error) goto returnError;
         error = sPSActionDescriptor->PutReference(desc0000000000003980, keyNull, ref0000000000001A48);
         if (error) goto returnError;
         error = sPSActionControl->Play(&result, eventSelect, desc0000000000003980, plugInDialogSilent);
         if (error) goto returnError;
    returnError:
         if (result != NULL) sPSActionDescriptor->Free(result);
         if (desc0000000000003980 != NULL) sPSActionDescriptor->Free(desc0000000000003980);
         if (ref0000000000001A48 != NULL) sPSActionReference->Free(ref0000000000001A48);
         return error;
    You can see "PutName" add the channel name "Spot Color 1" to reference, and I think it will not work correctly if I add such code to my project since PS cannot differentiate the 2 channels only by name. Can anyone tell me if there's any other method for selecting spot channel? Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Here is the something from docs tht you may find usefull.
    Tryusing index instead of name:
    SPAPI OSErr(*
    PutIndex )(PIActionReference ref, DescriptorClassIDdesiredClass, uint32 value)
    Puts an index into a reference (formIndex) along with the desired class for the reference.
    Unfortunately I dont have C++ here to try i just used definition from docs.
    Hope that this help.

  • How to select a communication channel based on a field in the message?

    Hi All,
    In my scenario - Sending system will send one country field in the message ,I have one receiver system which has different folders for different countries.
    I have created separate communication channels for separate countries.
    Now at runtime based on the country field in sender message I need use the channel respective to that country.
    How should i achieve this?
    Please help.

    Hi,
    Say you have 3 countries - I would suggest:
    1) Create 3 services - each for one country
    2) Create 1 CC's under each of these services
    3) In your Receiver Determination ->Configured Receivers -> Condition field --- put in the condition (by choosing the field from the input that has the country code)
    4) Against each condition, choose the respective service for that country
    5) Complete the Interface Determination - (by calling the same mapping in all three Interface Determination)
    6) Complete the Receiver Agreement by choosing the appropriate CC created as in Step 2)
    1) and 2) are basically for ease of use. If you need to identify the Service or CC - this would be user-friendly.
    If you dont want to create 3 different services - you can still not do Step 1 and continue from Step 2.

  • How to select left or right channel while playing video in QuickTime X?

    I have recorded a TV movie with EyeTV and exported it to Apple TV format (M4v). In Germany often stereo movies have original soundtrack on right channel (e.g. English) and German soundtrack on left channel. With QuickTime 7 it was no problem to select the channels for playback. But with QuickTime X I cannot find this possibility anymore. Does anyone know how to select one of the stereo channels for playback? You can imagine that wihil playing German and English simultanously you cannot understand a word at all.

    Thanks, but I actually do not want to remove a channel permanently, because I sometimes want to listen to the original English version and sometimes to the German version. But as it seems QuickTime X does not have the simple playback option to select a special channel, is this right? This is sad as I really like the features and the look of QuickTime X. It is not very comfortable to switch between two players just for the need of a channel selection. I hope that Apple will give us some more basic playback comfort in a version to come.

  • Command-Click Channel Icon Selects inverse in CMYK/RGB channels?

    Photoshop CS4, Mac, PPC OS 10.5.8.
    When i command+click on a channel icon to select the contents of a channel in CMYK or RGB mode, it selects the white/highlights instead of the shadow/content of the channel. The opposite is true when I command+click on spot color channels.
    I'd like to be able to command+click, say, on the cyan channel and have my selection be the contents of the cyan channel rather than the white/absence of cyan. What am I missing? I know I can command+click, then select inverse, but why is the behavior different between CMYK and spot channels, and is there any way to change the behavior?

    Not just looking at the marquee. If I copy the contents of the selection to another channel it is definitely the inverse of the channel that I've command+clicked. Not having any actual problems selecting with the usual selection tools.

  • ? Selecting 2 of 3 RGB channels in to adjust in Levels

    This is a CS4 question (and let me express my ingratitude to Adobe for dropping support for an $1800 set of apps).
    In Photoshop CS4, using a G5 (non-Intel), in the Channels view panel (alongside Layers, etc), when it is displaying RGB, Red, Green,and Blue I am able to shift-click, on say, the Red and Blue channels to sleect only those two. The image still displays in full RGB. When I issue command-L (Levels) I end up with the basic Levels disalog box, and instead of it choosing by default "RGB" for adjusting, I now have "RB" and I can adjust Red and Blue together with the sliders, avoiding the green channel. I can do this in, obviously, three combinations.
    For some reason, when I try this same thing on a friend's Intel Mac with Photoshop CS4 (same!), shift-clicking the Red and Blue channels in the Channels palette chooses them but the image display now displays without the Green channel influencing the image, thus rendering it unusable for adjusting two channels at once.
    I figure that since I am using the same App version on each Mac, maybe there is a setting somewhere I cannot find, or I am forgetting a step on the way to my friend's computer.
    Q: How do I choose 2 channels in the Channels palette while still having my image display in full color, and also be able to choose those two channels for adjustment in the Levels?
    For those of you who are wondering WHY I would want to adjust 2 channels at once, here's an example: an image looks lsightly too yellow, bt ther eis no yellow channel. Yellow is full Red & Green, so, using my method, I can choose both those channels, and reduce the yellow by reduing R and G together.

    You should be able to shift click the red and blue channels, then make the rgb composite visible (make the EYE visible by clicking in that box)

    in the tracing drop down menu, how come the custom is greyed out and can't be selected? It looks like its disabled!!

    cc2014,
    Have you selected an image?
    Unless a good explanation appears, you may start onthe list below.
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • How to generate a sound (tone) without clicking noise, and how to select left or right speaker

    Hi All,
    I am trying to write write a VI that generates a pure tone of specific frequency and volume, then sends that tone to one speaker or the other (Left or right) for use in teaching students about audiology (those hearing tests you may have taken where you hear a noise in one ear or the other).  I have created a rather primitive VI to accomplish this, but I am plagued by a few issues:
    1) At some frequencies but not all, the VI generates a clicking sound at the start and stop of the tone (I believe this is related to repeating configuration and call of the hardware, but I don't know how to set this up ahead of time and avoid it - and why doesn't it create the clicking sound at all frequencies?).
    2) At some frequencies (14000Hz and higher), I don't hear the tone at all on my computer speakers (I still hear the click before and after, but I don't hear the tone. I know what you might be thinking, but no, this is not a hearing deficit on my part :-)
    3) I would like to be able to direct the tone selectively to the left speaker or right speaker, but right now my VI only allows me to pick the "number of channels" (for which I presume "2 channels" means both left and right), but I don't know how to selectively pick only one channel or the other.
    Thank you for any helpful suggestions you can offer,
    Eric

    Eric,
    Yes, I intended to include an image. Sorry. Here it is.
    Thanks for the subVI. With it I hear clicks most of the time except on some of the low amplitude outputs. Interestingly, at frequencies above 10 kHz where my hearing is poor, when I do hear something it is a non-pure sound with a dominant frequency lower than the generated frequency.  I am not sure whether it is something in the sound system on my computer or in my ear/brain/mind acoustic analysis system. Here is what I get with my bad ears.
    This is what the graph on Generate Sound-subVI shows when I hear the lower pitched sounds. Although the frequency is low enough that it is not aliased, I suspect that I am hearing the envelope rather than the underlying carrier.
    I have not played with the windowing yet to see if that reduces the clicks. They could be generated by the Sound Write turning sound on and off.

  • BitmapData masking: how to merge 2 alpha channels?

    How can I apply an alpha mask from one bitmapdata to another? In other words, I want to merge the alphas, not simply copy one alpha channel to another bitmap.
    Here's an illustration:
    Notice that both the triangle and the ellipse have alpha channels, and the result is an intersection of these alpha channels. The RGB channels from the second image are used, and discarded from the first.
    I've looked into using BitmapData/merge(), draw(), copyChannel(), but they don't seem to do what I want. Anyone?
    Cheers.
    -Aaron

    Aha, looks like the answer was right under my nose: copyPixels() can do exactly this:
    If you include the alphaBitmap and alphaPoint parameters, you can use a secondary image as an alpha source for the source image. If the source image has alpha data, both sets of alpha data are used to composite pixels from the source image to the destination image. ThealphaPoint parameter is the point in the alpha image that corresponds to the upper-left corner of the source rectangle. Any pixels outside the intersection of the source image and alpha image are not copied to the destination image.
    Cheers.

  • RGB channels Curves adjustment please

    Please, add the possibility to adjust individually each RGB channels in curves....

    Are you saying that this tool is not UseFull ?  Are you Saying that this tool is not usefull in Photoshop too ?
    Look, It's okay for me if you like  to cut your beefsteak with a butter knife....   But LightRoom is a production tool for professionals, and professional need precision and productivity.
    RBG Adjustment  tool is not about getting adjustment more easy, it's about getting precise and  accurate  adjustments in precise tones.  Just try to do all this on the same image in Lightroom, and if you really can, for sure it's not faster as you could do it with the RGB Adjustment curves :
    - increase the blues  in the shadows
    - reduce the blues in  the Highlights
    - reduce the reds in shadows
    - increase the reds in highlights
    - increase the greens in highlights
    I'm looking forward to see how you do that in a fast way LR.
