With RecordStore records are removed when Midlet is remove.
Using resource file from JAR (getResourceAsStream) not solve problem
beecause resource is on Midlet JAR.
I want use data from previous Midlet after install new version of same Midlet.
How write and read data outside of Midlet Suite?

My (weird) suggestion: Make a server-based backup procedure. You implement a functionality in your MIDlet to connect to the server and backup or restore the data via HTTP. Before updating, the MIDlet uploads the data, and after updating, the new MIDlet downloads the data. But then you have to implement a user database on the server...

Restore depends on a source of data from which to restore. BB provides plenty of FREE methods to backup your data and thereby protect that priceless resource. If you did not avail yourself of that, then you have migrated from the latter to the former in this old saying...there are 2 kinds of computing device users -- those who have lost data, and those who will. Backups, like insurance, are neither a reactive nor an optional activity.

Anyone please help me to recover my NOTES written in my NOKIA N97 as I've loist them cuz I had to hard reset my mobile due to Start up failed contact retailer error was originated and it hanged my phone and I was unable to create backup of notes and after hard reset all of those precious notes i.e my articles for journals ,poetry and scripts etcs were deleted So please help me ! and tell me the way to recover phone memory or even only those notes ! Data recovery software are deigned for PC's so when phone is connected to PC software detects the MASS storage but not the phone memory's help!

Recuva is one memory card app that recovers data .

But its not going to see the C drive on the phone that you have overwritten i guess .

I m sorry to say that it is not working in the device i870. While running the aplication, I got an error message "File System not supported" . When I call FileSystemRegistry.listRoots(), ./, / and /Storage Card were displayed in the list. When I tried to access ./ root, "bad file name" error is displayed. For the other two roots, I got "File System not supported" error. I was able to access and load the contents of the Starage Card by using the file URL "file:///Storage Card/". I want to read the pictures in the phone memory of iDEN phones.

I admit, I did screw up for not checking. I was just soo steamed with the customer support and going back and forth with phone and offices in Charleston, SC and here in VA, I was just getting frustrated with this phone that i had for 1 week, and couple with the craziness of the hustle trafflc of customers during the holidays.
Just a lot of crazy here, but my new phone is in, I had to get the service center to reset things, as the backup synch wasn't right, and I will get a new card.
I just wanted a new phone that worked, and oversaw the issues. This isn't the first time I had to return a phone, but last time, it was a slower pace, and no issues, and I reminded myself to get the card out.
Got 99% of my contacts. Just wishing there was somehow to track the phone, and have hope, but it was nothing that was life critical.. And cost of new cars is cheap.
Chalk up to "pay attention".... but oh, the frustration of 6 visits to the stores in 32 days I had that phone. Ahh!

You can do it thru' a 3rd Party File explorer like X-plore..but a word of caution - Do it if you are 100% sure about the function of a file there-in. Deleting something just to clear Memory may have lead to 'bad' results..

Interesting question and my gut feeling is no.
However you could get all the personal stuff in to a backup file which I recommend you do anyway. The backup file extension will be .ipd. Whether you can then extract anything by PC, Idoubt.
Of course you could replace the screen. Let us know full details and help maybe to hand.

How can I store data in CompactFlash in a PCI 7041?

I have built an application for RT control in a PCI 7041 that executes the main loop at 5 kHz, so cycle time is 200 us. Now I want to save some data generated during execution. I would like to register timestamp and three values per cycle so I'd have four values every 200 us.
I think that the best way to do this is to store data in the CompactFlash memory included in PCI 7041 in real time (one "row" per cycle), and then, after RT loop execution (it lasts about 2 seconds), download all data to Host's hard disk.
How can I do this? How can I access CompactFlash from Labview? Is there a better way to solve my problem?

The 7041's CompactFlash is accessible as a drive (C through LabVIEW's file I/O functions. You can open/create/replace files on the 7041, just as you would on the host by calling file I/O functions in your downloaded VI.
Once the data is on C:, FTP to the 7041 from the host to retrieve your files. You can FTP programmatically in LabVIEW if you have the internet toolkit. If you don't have the internet toolkit, you can use System Exec to run your FTP commands.
If you prefer not to use FTP, you can transfer the data via TCP, UDP, or Datasocket, but that will require some additional programming.

Hi, can anyone tell how to move message from phone memory to Memory card. Everytime, i'm connecting to PC, thn it is being changed to phone memory. Cant PC suite synchronize it with memory card messages folder. Please help. By the way, my phone is Nokia X6, if someone can help me, it would be gr8.

memory maybe distributed between different categories that you may not of, not only user files. first of all check the memory distribution by checking the : menu > tools > memory manager > options > memory details.
if you have alot of messages stored on the phone memory , try to delete some, especially the ones that have attachments or you have recieved through bluetooth.
if you have applications or themes installed on the phone memory , remove these and reinstall on the memory card.

1: If you have Opera Mobile installed, Clear cache.
2. If you have too many "Saved pages" in Opera Mobile, delete those.
3. If you are using Opera Mini, change its "Saved Pages Location" to somewhere on memory card.
4. If using Ovi Music, Clear cache.
If you have installed any other application which uses phone memory to store Temporary files change its location to memory card, if it allows you...
Also Go to Settings>application manager>installed apps>do you see a mini memory card icon on the right side of each application you installed?
If you don't see that icon that means they are installed on phone memory, uninstall them and reinstall on memory card. (please don't mind if you already know these thing, i am just trying to explain to make it clear if you don't know).
And the ultimate way to free up Maximum phone memory is to do a reset, which i'd recommend to do ONLY IF YOU WANT THE PHONE MEMORY BACK ON EVERY COST. Just ask if you don't know how to do that.

Recovering Lost Phone Memory

Hi, how do you recover LOST PHONE MEMORY from downloading apps that are package file invalid? Clearing Google Play Services, Play Store and Services Framework didn't help. It seemed that cache cleaners helped but after revisiting the settings, it only doubled up the lost phone memory.
Is there any other way aside from resetting the phone? Resetting the phone is VERY MUCH INCONVENIENT. It's like having an empty phone. You have to start all over again.

What is a cache empty app? Is this what they called cache cleaner? I downloaded one. I thought it helped. It cleaned the residual files, etc. But when I check the settings, I was surprised. My phone memory got lower, lower than the memory I had before I downloaded the cache cleaner. I cleaned it again but still the same. I installed another cache cleaner but it did the same until the available memory became 50mb which made my phone so laggy. The supposedly cleaned memory was lost.

Not all the files in "Other" storage are unnecessary/unneeded/temporary files. There may be system files, mail attachments, app specific files and if the Clear button cannot clear all of them, that means they are used in some way.
"Other" files are the files which cannot be classified as Music/Video/Photo/Document, but that doesn't mean they are unused files.
If your "Other" usage increases dramatically, especially after installing a specific app, then it's time to worry. But in normal usage conditions, 1-1.5 GB is OK for "Other" storage
