How the downconversion and sampling

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am working on the NI card Pxi-5660 (NI Pxi-5600 & NI Pxi-5620) and I
would need to understand better how the downconversion and sampling
works:
1) When we configure the card, we set the carrier frequency fc and
bandwidth B to control downconversion. I understand that the band that
we consider is between fc-B/2 and fc+B/2. How is this band
downconverted? (i.e. how do you choose the frequency of local
oscillator? Is it fc-B/2?)
2) Concerning the digitizer. How is the sampling frequency chosen as a
function of fc and B? Does it work at a fixed sampling frequency of
64Ms/s or do you change the sampling frequency as a function of B?
I would appreciate if you can help me on these issues. Thank you very

When you connect your phone and start iTunes on the left side you will see your phone listed under devices.Click on te icon next to it that looks like a battery. Click on the music button at the top and uncheck the sync music box.

In terms of this particular case, it looks like the code is using an exception being thrown to get out of a loop. IMHO that's bad design -- exceptions should be used for exceptional circumstances, and if you use it to get out of a loop, then you're certain it's going to happen, and that means that it's not exceptional.

Has anyone else had issues with changing how the time and date look on the status menu in Mavericks?

I'm trying to make it so the year displays, but haven't been able to figure out how to change that. I have the Day of the Week, Month, Day and Time only and I haven't been able to figure out how to do that in the Date & Time or the Language & Region Settings.

There is no option in System Preferences. However, it may be possible to set it with a "defaults write" command.
This page shows how to set the time and date format in the Terminal, but doesn't show whether you can add the year.

If you can find a description of Apple's date format code that includes the year, then it may be possible. Or not.

How to store and retrieve ArrayList from Servletcontext
And another thing is that we are having personal chat(1-to-1) also. But how to use the thread model is not known to us as we have not faced such a situation before

The thing we are trying to do is that when a user is logged in the particular servlet which is responsible for the authentiacation of the user will authenticate the user an then calls method in the Chatter class which is outside the servlet
The Chatter class declares two mwthods addChatter() and getChatter()
I am managing the currently logged users in Arraylist using this two mehtods above
When the first user logs in his entry gets stored at the first position in the arraylist but when other user logs in then his entry overrites the entry of the first user instead of getting stored in the next position.
The arraylist gets initialized when second user logs in. to overcome this problem i want to store the arraylist into the ServletContext so it will be unique for the whole application and will not get initialized
So I want to know the process of storing and retrieving the arraylist fro the context

Do you make backups of the data? If so, it is possible to recover the file you had 24 hours before, but if not, you cannot recover it.
If you have Time Machine, the only thing you have to do is to go to the folder where you have the GarageBand library with the projects (usually, "Music"). Then, open the Time Machine app, navigate to a backup made before which contains the project you want to recovery, choose the file and select "Restore". How the heck and where do you log in to get to your itunes library?

Updated, reset password, created username, downloads, more downloads, more verification, bvrowsers - you name it. I know it's been a while, but I simply want to get to my library and add some songs? Keeps taking me to the store and new products and more downlaods and faqs. I used to just go right to my library - what has changed? Thank you

I did get to the library by connecting my ipod to desktop. I want to buy a song, it asks me to log in (I know I'm already logged in) I log in again and an error 'no connection' comes up? How to focus and navigate the UIShell Dynamic Tabs through keyboard

I am using the UIShell which will have the Dynamic tab concept. Here i need to give the keyboard navigation for focusing and navigating between the Dynamic tabs. I have given By providing the access Key concept, By sending the tab(task flow) title preceding with the & and title am displaying through the textAndAccesKey attribute. But in dynamic tab concept, i should not use this, since am allowing the user can open same task flow more than once(with single accesskey multiple tabs will be there). is there any other possibility of quick access without using the accesskey concept like how the IE and Mozilla tab navigation will works by pressing the CTRL+TAB.

1. Create an af:serverListener on the page that can be called to send messages to a managed bean on the server (see chapter 5 of the web developer guide to learn about af:serverListener).

method (disclosed) on a tab is the registered key is pressed.

How do the User and Shared Folders relate to the main drive? Can we delete?

I'm curious how the User and Shared folders relate to the main hard drive and if there is duplicate files in these folders and the main hard drive. Some software programs I have seemed to have loaded content/info into these folders and I'm wondering why they put files in there instead of just the regular main hard drive pathing. These 2 folders are more confusing than anything. I can see that might be of use to a family and each family member wants to keep files in a personal file, but when I'm the only one using my computer, it seems like I should have the option to remove these folders completely, but I don't because I feel like I would be deleting some important files that I wasn't aware were in these folders.
Another thing is, when I click on User folders (at least I think it's the User and not Shared folder), it brings up my name and 'Shared' in 2 seperate subfolders. Is anything in these folders duplicates of what's on my main hard drive? Is there anything significant about these folders if I'm the only user on my computer?
I would nice to get rid of clutter and to eliminate options for software to install things by deleting these folders and not have home/user/shared folders. Is that possible?

They are not aliases; it is a hierarchy, and there is intentional duplication at different levels. This is a feature.
First thing is that Users and Shared are at different levels. Users is at the top level, but Shared is one level inside Users, at the same level as any other user account you have created.
Therefore, if you delete the Users folder, you delete all user accounts, which means you delete all personal data. OS X probably won't even let you delete the Users folder unless you start up from a different hard drive, because you can't delete your user account while you are running in it.
Now, more about the hierarchy. The intentional duplication is so that documents and software can exist for individual users or all users. For example, there are multiple Applications folders:
Hard Drive\Applications - applications any user can see, installed at the system level
Hard Drive\Users\username1\Applications = applications only that user can see
Hard Drive\Users\username2\Applications = applications only that user can see
In the same way, there are multiple Preferences, Cookies, Application Support, etc. folders at different levels, for the same reasons.
If you do not know what you are doing and you delete one of these folders that "looks like a duplicate" you could cripple some essential part of your system or your account. That is why people are telling you not to do this.
The Shared folder is there because if you are in one user account you are prevented from seeing the files inside other user accounts. (Because you don't want other accounts to be able to see your personal data.) If you want to share files with others in your house using the same Mac, that's a problem. But the Shared folder solves this. if you want some files to be accessible to all users, like some photos or music, just put them in the Shared folder and now anyone with an account on that computer can see those shared files.
The reason shared files are not simply stored at the top level is because everything above the Users folder is supposed to be reserved for the system. User-specific are supposed to stay in the Users folder. That is why they put the Shared folder in there.
If you are not using the Shared folder and are just eyeing it because you want to free up some disk space, well, it probably won't help to delete it. Because if you are not using the Shared folder, it is probably not taking up much space, even though you see stuff in there. And if there is stuff in there taking up space, first figure out if someone put it there for a reason before you delete it.

Can't access loops and samples

I have posted this on the regular SoundTrack discussion list and have not received an answer.I am not really sure which list this belongs on since it is SoundTrack Academic. Here's the issue: My computer is shared. I am the administrator and can access SoundTrack and all its features. Other users who are not administrators can not access the loops and samples. I did create another admin account and that account also can not access the loops and samples. How can I make the loops and samples available to who ever uses this computer? Thanks.

Logged in on one of the other accounts, open STP and under the Search tab, click the Setup... button at the top right. See if you can browse to the folder where the files are located (probably something like: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple Loops for Soundtrack Pro, and /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Apple Loops for GarageBand). If so, just add that/those folder(s) to the Folders Indexed list.
Try that, then report back.

EXS Factory Samples And Sampler Instruments Duplicates and Missing Legacy

since updating and comparing to my macbook which i havent updated, it seems there are missing exs factory samples. for example on new logic 9 there are 2 folders exs factory samples which have 01 through 09 folders. the sampler instruments folder has 01 through 12 and folder 12 legacy instruments which on my mac book in sampler instruments have 01 thru 10 then skips to 26 to 41
ann ex factory folder on mac book 01 thru 10 folders and 10 legacy folder contains 01 thru 10 then skips to 27 thru 38. what is going on . why are there missing files in new upgrade i did on main computer? and how do i get all the exs samples and what should they be?

This problem began,i think in Logic 8.....when you install LP8 normally the EXS instruments and Legacy EXS there were always some missing that I was used to using..I found them eventually,they were now part of the the Garageband instrument Library.
I went back and searched all the install DVDs until I found them showing up..some EXS instruments would be missing the actual samples which were now part of the Garageband instrument library,Attitude Bass being one I remember off hand.
I just copied all the Instruments and samples I needed and got rid of the rest which amounts to a lot of space being freed up.
Now I just keep a backup of all my EXS files on external drive so I dont need to install them every upgrade as in Logic 9 (which I checked just in case there were any new files etc!)..which also sorts out the duplicate files headache.

Does the Extension SDK samples work at all?

I'm working on my own extension - a wizard - and am starting to become rather frustrated.
The best (only!) source of information for writing extensions, is as far as I'm concerned the samples that are part of the download.
And just for the record: I do have the latest version of the SDK! (downloaded yesterday through the update center).
For example, when trying to run/use the "ClassGenerator" sample, all you get is an dialog box saying "oooops... Cannot create content node. Duhh"..... very informative :-(
When debugging the extension(AddInSeven.java), the first "bug" is, that when using:
jsn = (JavaSourceNode)NodeFactory.findOrCreate(JavaSourceNode.class, classURL);
It doesn't actuallt physically create the java node, so when the following code try to use the file, an exception is thrown. (However, that can be mended by using a "jsn.save()" as well!)
Having dealt with the first hurdle, the next problem arises when the following code is executed:
factory.createLocalVariable(factory.createType("Work"),"work").addSelf(mainCodeBlock);
The exception text is: Illegal child (17) on this parent (2).
And the "Illegal child thing" is something I've experienced a lot when trying to figure out how to generate code with the extension.
And as I said: I've used the sample code exclusively, since it's the only way to figure out how to use the Extension API, and when that turns out to be erronous....... well....... I don't really see the way forward.
I find it very disappointing, especially since I had high expectations to the API. I've developed extensions to Eclipse in the past, and that was a lot more painless!
Could some pf you "Oracle gurus" please comment on this!
Is it just me, doing something totally wrong, or is the SDK and samples really in such a poor state?
