How the DVD image on screen varies in size .....

So I have my project on DVD and am pleased, in fact amazed at how good the quality is but there's one little frustrating niggle!
In order to keep text on some of my graphic images on screen, in the timeline I've had to reduce the size of the overall image. Once converted to DVD, there will be a black border around the image on a Sony TV. Play it on a different TV (LG perhaps) and that gap is filled so it fits very smartly on the 16:9 screen. In fact the text is very close to the edge. And if I stuck strictly to the title safe boundaries, on the Sony TV the black border would be even wider. Gosh I hope this is making sense!
Video footage is of course fine because no-one is gonna notice what's missing around the perimeters, unless of course some text appears there too but it would never go all the way to the edge.
Ideally it would be perfect if the graphic designers designed the image so the text wasn't so close to the edge of the graphic but there's nothing I can do about that now.
So a whole lot of these DVDs are going out to various places here and there and on various screens and in many cases the screen will be filled but in some cases it won't and will look a bit average.
By the way the screens are on the same settings, 16:9, Full screen.
Is there a simple solution to this? Thanks for stayin' with me.
Peter

Ideally it would be perfect if the graphic designers designed the image so the text wasn't so close to the edge of the graphic but there's nothing I can do about that now.
Inform your designers that Photoshop includes templates that conform to TV & Video specifications.
They even have the Action and Title Safe guides switched on by default.
Look in the File > New menu bar item then click the Preset button to find the templates.
For stuff like titles and logos that need to be composited, they should deliver .TIFF files with a transparent background.

  • Why is there a scroll bar though I set the background image to "scale to page size"?"

Why is there a scroll bar though I set the background image to "scale to page size"?"

The current build of iTunes may occasionally draw the scroll bar off the edge of the screen. It should be possible to resize the window to reveal the scroll bar.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl-B to turn on the menu bar.
Ctrl-S to turn on the sidebar.
Ctrl-/ to turn on the status bar.
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the previous search behaviour.
You can also open the menu bar temporarily by pressing Alt.

  • Dual Screen / Render differ for the same image (same time!) - Full size

On my Mac Pro / lightroom 2.3, I have 2 screens connected (same brand: Dell, Same size 24'). One is in landscape position, the other is vertical.
I use the landscape one as Screen 1.
If I display an image (1:1 ratio) on the Screen 2, the rendering is not sharp (seem to not be finished / close to be!), the same image render on screen one is correct! The problem is easy to check: At the same time you have a sharp image (Screen 1) and a blurred one (screen2).
Images came from Canon EOS 50D raw file.
Does this problem know? Any idea to solve it?

I'm having a similar problem on my Mac Pro with an Apple 23" as Monitor 1 and a Samsung 21" in Portrait orientation as Monitor 2.  Sometimes, even though full 1:1 previews have been rendered, when I zoom to the 1:1 view on Monitor 2 (usually with the Grid View on Monitor 1), it zooms in but never loads the 1:1 preview, so the image is blurry.
The only solution I've found is to restart Lightroom.

  • Dumb question...once I build the DVD IMAGE (ISO)  and a DVD FOLDER

Can I burn the ISO file FROM ENCORE or the DVD FOLDER?
    thx

    >Beyond that there's a whole army of tools that can burn ISO images, including Nero, DVD Decrypter or whatever.
DVD De3crypter is now illegal in most countries. Sony's legal team stopped it's creator - Lightning UK - from developing it on pain of lawsuits as it is capable of defeating most Copy Protection on DVD..
It metamorphosed into IMGburn, which is the (massively) updated burn engine from the sadly defunct DVDDecrypter.

The deployement is to "All systems" collections.
If I deploy on a new computer : it's works.
If I redeploy on this same computer with another name: it's works.
If a try again on this computer : no task sequence available.
    To resume:
Step 1: Use OSD on one computer
Step 2: Use OSD a second time on the same computer with another names (works)
Step 3: Use OSD again on the same computer (third time) and see no task sequence available.
Task sequence deploy to All system...
So to works, I need to delete computer in SCCM.
There must be something wrong then. The client should still be member of 'All Systems' after being reinstalled. Fix that and you're all set.

  • Automatic transcode settings can't close DVD image in standard 4,7gb size

So I have this feature film of a marriage 1h30m long that Encore refuses to generate an ISO of standard DVD size. The point is, for some reason this project in particular is generating a 6gb image, in the settings that even 2h10m fits standard DVD size. What am I doing wrong? What to do now?
    Encore 5.1

On an automatic transcode, Encore uses what you have already transcoded in the project plus menus, motion menus, etc, and uses settings to fit the rest on the disk. If you transcode some assets early, then others later, Encore will transcode the first ones at higher bitrates and not be able to go low enough to get the others to fit.
I have not tested whether this will actually result in too big for the disk, but I suspect it might.
You could look at the transcoded files in the Encore folders and check them with mediainfo or gspot for bitrate to see if they vary.

  • How to fit image file to exact table size on import?

I am inserting image files (gif and jpeg) into spots in a pre-existing table.  When I do so the image file comes in way oversized and I have to resize the image to my original table block size.  Is there a method of inserting an image and specifying that I want it to fit to the size of the table cell beforehand?  Also, when I reduce the size of the image to the exact dimensions of an already existing table cell the size of the cell expands slightly and things are not lined up perfectly afterwards.  Am I supposed to make the image slightly smaller than the table cell to compensate for this?  Thanks for your time.

Here is the code for the site I am just starting out with:
    Home
I Googled PHP resizing but don't quite know where to put the code they have
listed.  Does it go just before the table code?

  • I resize my window image so everything is correct portion but as soon as I change window to next page the image goes back to small size. How can I stop this occuring. This happens when go on facebook or any other area. Help me please.

size of the general image that I see reduces toby about a third - I resize it by pressing Ctrl key and using my mouse scroll button to expand the whole image so that it fill the screen. As soon as I go to the next page the whole image reverts back to original size and I have to repeat the action again.

    1. the new file which we are creating will be in this order or not
    file_extension * data_file_size | data_file image_file
No.  The file will be in the order in which it is written in the writing routine:
    1. Image File
    2. Data File
    3. "|"
    4. Data File Size (ASCII)
    5. "*"
    6. File Extension (ASCII)
    2. explain this snippet .. why we are changing position while we are extract file
     While Not FS.ReadByte = Asc("|")
                                FS.Position -= 2
                            End While
Dim s As String = Nothing
                            While Not FS.Position = FS.Length - 4
                                s &= Chr(FS.ReadByte.ToString)

Dim Ext As String = Nothing
                            FS.Seek(0, IO.SeekOrigin.End)
                            While Not FS.ReadByte = Asc("*")
                                FS.Position -= 2
                            End While
                            While Not FS.Position = FS.Length
                                Ext &= Chr(FS.ReadByte.ToString)
                            End While
                            FS.Seek(FS.Length - ((s.Length + s) + 5), IO.SeekOrigin.Begin)
The file read position is recalculated before each read, depending either on the position of the marker ("|" and "*") or on the length of the data.   That's how each portion is extracted - the position is set to the start of the portion, and that
portion is read for the correct number of bytes.  The portions are extracted from the end back towards the beginning because the markers can only be guaranteed as unique (they are illegal in a filename extension) when searching backwards.
    3. after combining the files with the image .. how the created image is visible (even we are not using any algorithm)
That depends on the image file format, but most formats will use header information that describes the location within the file of the various bits of data that are needed to create the image.  The side effect of this is that if there is information
in the file that is not referenced from this header data then it is simply ignored.  That's what this procedure is relying on - because the new data is appended to the end of the file it will not be referenced from the header data and will be ignored.

Whenever I play DVDs I have problems. Lately, its been a horizontal line or split across the DVD image.  I also get all kinds of burps and hiccups, and picture separation from sound that is usually solved by tapping in the mousepad.  (Weird!) This gizmo is still under warranty but I'm out of the country for a few more weeks.

Yes, Apple is working on it. The information I gathered from AppleCare is that there is a "capture" procedure in US for those who don't like the lines on their machine.
At this time, as there is not such a procedure in Europ, my decision is to return mine. The only way to return your PB is to call the AppleStore from which you bought it and ask them for a refund (if you are within the 7 or 14 days depending on the Country you bought it from) or an exchange .
Applecare will only accept a repair, by the local Apple Certified center, but AppleCare is country specific which means that an applecare bought in Europ will not work elsewhere. Personnally, I declined the repair, because we all know that the defect has not been identified yet by Apple US, so that you can imagine what the local repair center could do !!!
PS : I just identified the EXACT same line issue at my working place on a Sony LCD screen connected to a G5 DP 2Ghz. Strangely enough, the LCD has also colour set up problems. Moreover the same configuration at home (same SONY screen, G5 DP 1,8 Ghz) has no lining problem. This is the definitive proof to me that every lined screen are defective, even if hundred of them have been recently released.
