This article was archive so I can't reply to this, but I wanted to bring this back up.
As Christian pointed out on converting your notes to P-Press, then random DataByte 1 then convert back to a Note...
I used this approached but was able to add in a macro I created to save the generated random DataByte 1 so that when the Note OFF message came around, I can apply that saved random DataByte 1 to the Note OFF in question.
One thing I did notice when working this out was there's 2 differences in processing the messages when it comes to using a MIDI Input Device or a MIDI Performance (midi file).
After I was able to figure this out, now I can randomize on notes using either of the 2 Inputs.
While randomize notes probably won't sound nice to the ear, I apply another macro I created and I'm still adding too, and that's Music Scales.
So while I randomize notes, when applied to this last macro, the random notes now get mapped to notes in a music scale of your choosing.

I'm currently in the process of creating video tutorials in breaking down the whole process but I wanted to share what I have and see if there's any interested in this.
Remember, this is just one approach and I hope it gives others ideas to work off of.

HT1553 What is the best system for a real time cloud back up of documents? My MacBook crashed, and I lost 2 hours of writing and could not find a way to restore it.

My MacBook Pro crashed while I was rewriting a book, lost more than an hour of work and could not find a way to restore it. Did not have Time Machine set up, but it appears that Time Machine does not have Real Time back up and documents must be manually stored.
I need an automatic, real time back up to keep this from happening - I'm not happy my MacBook has crashed twice now. What is the best cloud system for Real Time backup? Thanks to anyone who can help me, I'm not the most astutde computer guy... James

One way would be to use Dropbox, or a similar sync service, and just keep your critical documents in the appropriate folder. Dropbox, at least, keeps a local copy of everything and syncs automatically to the cloud whenver a change is made. Dropbox is free for up to 2GB of data.
There are also true backup services such as CrashPlan+:

which provide automatic backups whenver a change is detected. It's not free, but usually such services aren't too expensive unless you need to back up a lot of data.

How do I move multiple clips at once in the project rather than one a time?

I know how to cut and then paste to move one clip within the project to a new place within the project, but how do I move a group all at once rather than one at a time?

This did not help and that did not work. I had already tried that Holding down either the command key does "highlight" multiple items but then you cannot move those items to a new spot.

A process chain is a defined sequence of interdependent processes required to perform acomplex task in an SAPBW environment. Data maintenance tasks in SAPBW are notrestricted to uploading data. Aggregate rollups, index maintenance, master data and ODS activation, and a variety of other jobs are required to update data, guarantee best-possible performance, and maintain data integrity. How to capture pc screen in real time?

Hi, recently i have been asked to make a java program that captures the pc screen and shows it, in real time, either in the same pc or another pc over the local network. To do this program, i could easilly make one that takes multiple pics of the screen and shows them, but that would be very slow, so i was thinking of doing one that captures the video stream and shows it directly on the program. Problem is, how do i do it using Java? I have no idea, so if anyone can enlighten me on a way how to do it, i would be very thankful.
on a side note, i have to make a new program, so i am not interested in another programs out there unless they java and open source for me to study.

you would think i didnt need to post that huh? but in fact, i've looked around this forum to see if i find a solution and i saw not only once or twice, but a really large number of advertisements of programs u had to pay and were closed, in many different threads, so a little infatuation on the fact i didn't need one of those here seemed it would help :P
thx for the answers, but neither of you focused on the real problem. First, i couldnt just plug the video board on another monitor because it would not be exactly what i need to do, i want the other monitor to be display its own computer system and have a manageable window in which it would show everything being done in the other computer, one i can open without having to mess with any cables. This application would be used in a ubiquitous project and messing with the cables wouldn't really fit in a ubiquitous description :P. I have tested sequenced screenshots, and it is indeed very slow, even in one pc showing the screen captures on itself, imagine over a network...
altough it may sound premature, doing the program with screen captures seems to me to be entirelly different from doing it getting the feed directly from the video board, maybe with the exception of the little player window that would go with it. But once done, i would be more then happy to test it out and say which of the two would be better to send over the network.
well, for what i understand, the first poster seems to say there is no way in doing it the way i was trying to do with java, so i'll probably have to get a C program to capture it then send to a java on via socket, but if anyone else out there would know anything that could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

CHARM: Activation of Different Land Scapes at different times

I am configuring ChaRM in solution manager. The requirement is mentioned below:
We have 4 systems land scape: DEV, QA, PRD and TRN (training system) and all transports go into the systems in the following way:
1. DEV->QA
2. QA->PRD
3.QA->TRN (training system)
However, sometimes we have projects going on where in, business says that, all the "project" related transports should only go to PRD system on a specific day (lets say friday). These "project" related transports should not go into TRN (training system) until next week (that is, next friday). Also, during this complete week, no normal or minor transports should go to TRN (training system) except PRD. On Friday (exactly after 1 week), all the "project" related and normal and minor transports should go to TRN (training system) thereby matching the exact status of PRD system.
May anybody please tell me how I can organize these things in ChaRM?

Anyone know how to generate random midi in real time?

Hi this is my first post so if this is obvious please forgive me
I'm a John Cage fan and interested in chance generated working methods.
What i'd like to know is if there is a way to generate random midi events (pitch and velocity) in logic pro or mainstage from an incoming midi signal e.g. any incoming note trigger could trigger any midi note randomly within a user defined range in real time?
Also is it possible to generate random midi events by just letting something run in the background?
NB i know i can randomise events after the fact using the transform window - i just can't work out how to randomise in real time.
sorry if this was a dumb question but any help would be greatly appreciated

You are quite right Christian, but I still think there are some ways to solve that in the Environment. For some reason I created such a tool in the pass ( it was a Logic custom offer or something like that ... ). I just converted this old LSO to L8 project. I think so - something like Arpeggiator object may do the job as a Note generator in a combination with some Enviro gear or Macro...

In real time
1. as per my knowledge we create function modules to Inbound IDOC /outbound processing..
2.Interface between a program..
Example we need to take some data from a report say materials and plant and process some bapi and return logfiles to the report we can use FM here too.
To create a function module
First you need to create a function group (function group holds a number of function modules relevant)
SE37>goto>function groups-->create group ..click this create group..
Now in the pop up enter the function groupname Eg: ZW_FG1 plus short text and saveit
Now again goto SE37--> enter new Function module name eg:ZW_FM1
and press F5.
Now again a popup you need to enter
function group name : ZW_FG1
and short test and save it..
Now the Function module is created under the Function group ZW_FG1.
write your export import table parameters and you source code.

How to verify RTSJ use linux real time kernel?

Hi,
I'm complete newbie into this area and I'm trying out the RTSJ 2.1 beta Linux. I'm using this on Ubuntu with the linux real time kernel. Is there anyway to find out whether the real time kernel is being actually used or in other words is there a way to find out whether RTSJ works fine with the real time kernel on Ubuntu? I see that the programs get compiled and run irrespective of whether I use the real time kernel or the generic kernel.

Hi,
I would assume, like other distributions, that you either boot the real-time kernel or you don't. uname should show you what you are running, but you'd have to ask the Ubuntu folk what you should see for the RT kernel.
To see if you are benefiting from real-time, you need to run a RTSJ app that tracks deadline misses or measures latency/jitter. Try it on the non-real-time kernel and the real-time one and see what you get. Some of the examples in the "Getting Started" guide should be usable for these purposes.

How to implement Transfer Function in Real Time VI?!

Hi all,
I'm relatively new to Labview Real Time modoule and want to implement one Controller in Deterministic Loop! I have already one discrete Transfer Function and searching for the way to build one Controller with it! Is it right to use the Simulation Loop instead of Timed Loop (in this case Deterministic loop) and implement the controller in it?! If it's correct so, should I use the same clock and Priod as Timed Loop?!
It would be very helpful, if there is an Example about using transfer function in Real Time Loops!

Measurement & Automatization Reconoce mi cFP pero no lo reconoce mi Project. Si tengo Real-Time Module

El problema que tengo es que Measurement & Automatization Reconoce mi cFP-2200 pero no lo reconoce mi Project osea que al tratar de agregar un nuevo Target and Device no lo encuentra en la red y me da el error de Bank is not responding. Tengo labVIEW 2009 y la version que posee el cFP 6.0.5. tengo el modulo de Real-Time.

Lo primero que podemos hacer es verificar que no sea el firewall o el antivirus la razón por la quetu cFP no esté siendo detectado. MAX y LabVIEW son diferentes procesos en el sistema operativo y por tanto puede ser que lo veas en uno pero no en otro.
La forma más sencilla de verificar esto es desactivando el firewall y el antivirus y ver si puedes detectar el cFP correctamente en MAX. Si es así, entonces para no quedar sin protección necesitas permitir el acceso a red de LabVIEW desde tu firewall y desde tu antivirus.
La forma de descativar el firewall es directamente en el panel de control y el antivirus por lo general trae un administrador donde lo puedes deshabilitar.
Por favor haz esta prueba y me avisas tu resultado.
