There is a transparency "curtain" that is used to transition between the images. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this can be replicated?

use a movieclip and adjust its height and alpha an y for the "transparency curtain" and use masking for the image transitions.

My mac had it's original software re-installed by Apple. since they did this, my airbook pro will not recognize my iphone in Itunes, and I cannot update the latest version of itunes, because it says I'm not running the latest version mac software????

I had the AppleStore, re-install my original software a month or two ago, but since they did this, my computer cannot recognize my Iphone it is telling me that I also need to download the new version of Itunes, but keeps telling me my system isn't running the correct software. When I go to update my software, it's telling me I'm running the latest version??? HELP!!

Yes, you probably have the tripple-click Home button option off.
Just visit the Accessibility pane under General settings (as described by King_Penguin above) and choose to assign what you need for your tripple click command, in this case toggling the black & white option.
You can also tell it to 'ask' you what you want from that command each time.

Just for fun: Can you guess how I did this?

A few months ago a thread here discussed different way to stroke 3D objects in After Effects. There were lots of clever suggestions.
I made a TV spot last week that uses growing 3D ribbons to spell out the 2012 in the product title. There are straight planes and curves within the ribbon paths, and lighting and shadows were required to match the original album art it replicates. I needed to get the job done quickly and didn't have time to use a 3D application, so I used (what I think) was a rather innovative approach.
So, for a bit of fun, can you pick how I did this? The project is created entirely in AE, in one composition.

My first attempt was exactly Rick's, using stacked solids with Stroke applied. I gave up on it because, once shadows were applied, the "ribbons" seemed to develop a mottled texture, presumeably because each layer in the stack casts a shadow on the layer behind it. Using Rick's design above, here's an example:
So in the end, I used text layers! Each ribbon is simply a long string of Helvetica "I" characters, with their kerning pulled back so all the characters touch. Convert to per-character 3D, rotate X axis 90 degrees, and apply mask as text path. Then I use a simple Text Animator on opacity to draw the lines on or off.
The great advantage of this is no cumbersome stack of layers. Each colour is one layer, so there's just five layers in my comp for each object. The "20" is one object, then the "1", then the "2" - 15 layers in all for the whole thing. Changing colours is as easy as changing a single text layer.
A total render hog, all the same: it took 11 hours to render the 15 second spot, on an 8 core Mac Pro with 16GB of RAM. But in 3D Draft mode the comp was surprisingly easy to work with. It's just the lighting and shadows that slow things down.
Anyways, perhaps this may inspire someone else to do something interesting with text layers.

I bought the my little pony seaon pass on seasons 1 and 2 and they then did this multi season pass thing. Now it doesn't show as me owning these new seasons. Can't remember how I did this

Last year while getting some things ready for a high school computer graphics class I was teaching, I created a composite image using several of my photos. I work using levels and I had one image each on its own level. I needed to merge two images to create the effect that they were one - a running stream was one (a sort of earth tone tint) and a small waterfall cascading over some rocks was the other (a more warmer orange-ish tint). I thought I used a level merge command but when the two levels were merged, the coloring on the images matched (the earth tone tint)! I can't for the life of me remember what I did! I've tried auto-blend but the top image just disappears and photomerge doesn't look familiar.
I've gone through the CS3 Instruction Manual but am not having much luck finding my answer. Can anyone help?

yes...Snapz Pro. The demo version that now has 10 days left. Regularly it costs $70! Dunno if it is worth it if I am not making any money off these. And there is a preference setting to have the window follow the cursor. And as Pat said, the first one I did (which is now gone...replace with an updated version that goes into more detail) I did the camera moves in AE...which is a pain as I couldn't hear audio...Just had to follow the cursor.
These were exported as ANIMATION files, I then encoded them as H.264 using Compressor. Yes...I now know how to use Compressor...a little.
And the microphone I used was a Shure SM58 running thru my Aurora Pipe Pro. But David said the levels were low, and he had to boost them. So I need to boost the audio next time.
I'd better get crackin...only 10 days left on that demo!
And yes...The Capt gets interrupted by his kids, and I constantly get e-mail. Everytime my computer growls like a Wookie my kids say, in unison, "DAD HAS E-MAIL!" No matter where they are in the house.

TS1468 itunes is a joke. Many of my songs are either separated into single albums when it is a compilation or are outright missing without a trace. They did this with their crap software and the solution? I have to go thru an manually group them...sure

Now I find that my audiobook of WWZ is also nowhere to be found. You have to practically promise your firstborn in order to get a new computer authorization key...I've just had it, and they keep making it worse. grrrrrrr. Any idea on how to get itunes to put the albums back together into a single album again?

My daughter has an addiction to computer and I thought she couldn't get thru my FoxFilter, never thought there was something she could mess up on Firefox itself. Every time I start my computer it runs and runs, and takes forever for anything to download. I understand why. I just don't know how to fix it. Since there are 178,210 of these personas been added to firefox. Thanks for your help.

Can anyone explain how they made this Jar file

Hi all,
I have searched the forum without luck. Lots of people asked questions about protecting their jar files but almost everyone said to either use exe file or use obfuscators.
But how can I make my jar so it is not possible to open it or when you try to open it you get nothing.
For eg. jar -tvf myjar.jar returns nothing and no error message.
I am also going to go one step ahead and give you an example of such a jar file you can download from the net to check it out yourself what I mean.

Open command prompt run the exe....accept the license and it should extract couple of files one of which is a jar file called sapusershim.jar
Try to open it with winrar, winzip or jar utility. You won't be able to. But I know for sure the jar is not corrupted because I use it in my application at work. This is not the only example of such jar file I have experienced.
So now we all know it's possible. But I would really like to know how.

By definition, if the jar utility program won't operate correctly on the jar, it is corrupted in some manner and no longer standard.

Can some one please explain how they do this flicker effect.

Random video I found with the effect at around 0:22 or so they get the video to flicker with the snare roll. Can someone explain the easiest way to achieve this.
