How to access an instance in a different .FLA?

I am trying to add a LOAD EXTERNAL MOVIE CLIP behaviour to a button sitting in a .FLA called SERVICESMENU. I want to load a .swf titled MULTIMEDIA.SWF into an instance of an empty symbol called PAGE LOADER on a different .FLA called MAIN.FLA.
The problem is when I am in the SERVICEMENU.FLA file, I cannot see the instances that I created in the MAIN.FLA when following the behaviours wizard so I cannot choose the PAGELOADER instance that was created in and resides in the MAIN.FLA file.
How do i get around this?

actually i think i may have solved my dilemma. i am setting up the navigation differently by using the timeline instead of trying to load external swf's. seems to be working. i will let you know how i progress. am busy watching total training dvds on this

All the documents in iFS are associated with metadata such as user name (creator), etc. You can retrieve the metadata associated with a document and its contents (BLOB) through any protocols we support. For getting the attributes, you just need some Java call to do so.

DB Tool List Table: How to access tables which are in different SQL database ?

I'm working on a database application (SQL server) and is evaluating the NI DB Tool kit for this project.
One of the requirement is that I need to access tables which are in two different database
(say Table A in DB 1 and Table B in DB 2).
Our IT guys has linked Table A in DB1 to DB 2 and I verfied this when I use the SQL server managment studio.
When DB 2 tables are populated, Table A from DB1 is also there. I can also do the same thing using MS Access.
Table A in DB1 is avalaible to me enven though I only connect to DB 2.
Here comes the problem.
When I use DB Tool List Table.vi to access DB2, it does NOT list Table A in DB1. It only list the tables in
the database (DB2) which I make connection to (using DB Tool Open Connection.vi with a file DSN)
So my work around right now is to open two seperate connection to DB1 and DB2. However, this approach
obviously creates a problem when I have to access seperate database constantly in my application.
What would be a solution to this ? I've search the forum but only see one post that's somewhat related to
my question. (And it was posted on 2004) Perhaps I need to alter the code in the orignial VI (DB Tool List Table.vi)??
My IT guy told me he has not encountered this scenario since he writes codes in other enviroment such as
VB and others, and he's always been successful by linking tables to different database.
I hope my question is sound and clear since I really don't know much about database terminology.
Any comment/suggestion is much appreciated !!!

good to know because it will affect how you build your SQL statements.
Yes they are on separate instances.
- Ask your IT people specifically how they "linked Table A in DB1 to
DB 2". I assume they used "linked servers".
Maybe I used the wrong terminology "linked." They created a "View of Table A (DB1)" in DB2 using the management studio.
Here is a screen shot of that. As you can see, dbo.VISUAL_WORK_ORDER is seen under LABVIEW database in the management studio.
I also see the same table when I make connection to database using MS Access.
Could you elaborate on "configure your SQL statement correctly" =) ? The purpose of using LabView's took kit is so that I can do
minimum SQL statements. Are you talking about modifying LabView's native VI (DB Tool List Table.vi) ?

How to access HttpSessionListener instance

I use a HttpSessionListener to count the active sessions in my WebApp. Therefore the HttpSessionListener implementation has two fields (an int and an ArrayList<HttpSession>). The HttpSessionListener is defined in the web.xml.
The listener works as expected and updates the fields each time a Session is created or destroyed.
How can I access the fields from within the application? Esp. how can I access the ArrayList field to used that in the application?
Is the instance of the HttpSessionListener somewhere in the Application context?

1) Make the list static. It may only lead to problems in certain clustered environments.
2) On the first-time use, let it put itself in the application scope.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to access SharePoint list from Java application through REST.
In some cases you may need to create a new access token (this is somewhat akin to "running as a different user").
Essentially, you are using a different user's security context. Typically, you would create an Active Directory account specifically for this purpose and then grant appropriate rights to the user account in SharePoint.

Hi,
Let's assume that you are using IE8 or later.
You should go to the File menu (Alt+F, if the menu is hidden) and then select "New Session".
This will allow you to start any number of different EBS sessions you want even for the same instance.

Sure...
1. Open DW and choose Site > New
2. Give your site a name and create a folder to keep it in
3. Enter your FTP info under Remote Server
4. From the Files window of your new, empty site, click the Get button (down arrow), that will connect DW to your site and ask if you want to download the entire thing
5. Click yes, sit back, relax and wait for your site to download to your machine

I am working on SOAP-PI- ECC (Sync) scenario, I have completed development and published service in SR, tested successfully using WS Navigator.
I have shared web service url and wsdl with Third party team, they are not in my client network, when they are trying to use /implement my Service, it is now working, when I open WSDL url in my network I am able to do that, but third party people getting error page cannot be displayed.
There is nothing wrong in WSDL URL, so I am thinking that it may be security issues like that.,
Is it possible to access PI services in other network??

No....we can access the services when we are in same landscape. The Third party should be first able to connect to your environment/ network....if they are able to do it then the WS can be accessed.
Similar would be the case if you try opening a WS provided by third-party....you will get a Page cannot be displayed error.

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to map the non-root site collection from
http://testsite to http://companysite .
For your issue, it cannot be achieved by using Alternative Access
Mappings. For achieving your demand, you can create host-named site collection instead of path-based site collection.

In swing based application, Parent Frame filled with multiple Panels, for each panel i created separate class and added the required swing component.
components in one panel class require to update/modify components in another panel class.
For solving this problem i made the components & required methods in a class as STATIC and directly access from another class.
Is it right approach?
is there any other approach to solve this issue?

You already implemented the V(iew)-part.
Now you have to create a M(odel) to hold the Information you want to manipulate and display and a C(ontroller) that changes this information upon the user input (could be combined...)
Usually the display components register themselves as Listeners to the model and the model publishes state changes to who ever has been registered...

In my database i stored the date in the following format1992-03-28 13:07:53.000.
In My application user can use upto 8 languages.Now the problem is when the user logged in with english the date format will be like 5/26/08(dd/mm/yy).but me convert this format to 05/26/2008(dd/mm/yyyy) through and use the following syntax for constrains dateformat(MaoDate,'mm/dd/yyyy') = '05/26/2008'
Now my problem is for some other language the date format is like Arr 20 07 or 25.05.92.But me wrote the code conversion only for the format mm/dd/yy.
Is there any general way to acces the date for all the languages?

Now the problem is i will get the string like 5/8/08 or Jan 21 07 .... from My GUI. But me wrote code only to convert from 5/8/08 to 05/08/2008...Bcz date comparison was happening in dd/mm/yyyy format.
But whenever i am getting data like Jan 21 07 from GUI my conversion is not happening.And now the date constrain is dateformat(MaoDate,'mm/dd/yyyy') = 'Jan 21 07' i mean my code checking the date format with dd/mm/yyyy with date Jan 21 07.
So i need to write a code to convert all the regional format to dd/mm/yyyy.So is there any common way to comapre the date with all regional format!!!!!!

the WLS 8.1.
Anyways, the common question for both is, how to access an excel files from different
locations (e.g. c:\path\1.xls, \\domain1\finance\fin.xls, \\domain1\marketing\customer.xls,
\\domain2\accounts\vouchers.xls)?
From example i can see that it picks from a specific path under repository.

The custom function sets the MS-Excel default directory to System.getProperty("user.dir")+"/excel"
(the domain directory), then opens the filename passed as a parameter. I assume
that if you pass in the fully specified path for the excel file ( like d:\MyDir\data\test.xls),
that it would open that file.

It should work the way you mentioned it. I don't see why it
didn't unless there is a spelling mistake or something. If there
is you should have a got an error message. :-)
I actually don't recommend using globals at all, I would rather
use a PL\SQL Package Specification to define Global Variable.
These variables are valid for the duration of the Session and
they are restricted to Char(255) limit. It reduces the number of
mistakes when converting dates and Such. It also forces the
developers to place all the globals in one place instead of
multiple places. Read Feurstein's book on PL\SQL Programming for
more details.
