Am devaloping a small applicatioin using JME.. I have to retrive image from front camera for that.. S there any API to access front cam in a Midlet application.. Anyone who knows ploease explain in detail.. Thanks in advance..

Hello mlmarsh2, To access the front camera, will the camera is on and showing the live view, swipe up from the bottom and you will see a taskbar with the option to "Change camera". I see from another post you created you were having difficultly with some apps uninstalling.To restore Windows back to factory, turn off the tablet completely. Press and hold the Start button and Volume Down button simultaneously for a few seconds.A screen will come on showing some options.Choose F11 for the System Recovery option and follow the prompts. Hope that helps. PS: If this is the first time you have used a tablet, you might prefer the traditional desktop like Windows 7 had. You can install Classic Shell Setup on the Stream Tablet for the old desktop and it will work just as good as it does on a tower or laptop.

How to access iPhone "Camera Roll" by API?

I would like to know how to access to "Camera Roll" by iPhone API.
Because, I know several iPhone application which has own image list and the list is synced to "Camera Roll".
If I take photo by iPhone native camera, the taken photo is listed up on the image list so I guess those applications can access to "Camera Roll" directly.

Front camera won't work

Apple Genius Bar will only replace the hardware if it is still under warrantee. My iPad 2 isn't..
This has to be a software issue with the new iOS as it seems to commonplace to be a hardware problem. It's arising across iPads and iPhones. Best we can do is make apple aware and hope they can resolve the issue in an updated version of iOS7...sooner rather than later a I can't Skype or FaceTime in my iPad anymore..

Could someone please tell me how to start the integrated camera after installing the driver in Windows 7? I could see the device driver from Device Manager stated that it is properly installed and working fine but I had gone all the program interface to see where to start it proves to no avail. It is unlike Windows XP where it can be accessed from Accessories.

How to access all camera feeds on Axis M7014 4-port video encoder with one IP address

I am trying to interface to an Axis M7014 (4-port) video encoder through IMAQdx. This video encoder has 4 channels of video at one IP address.
I can see this video encoder in MAX when I hook it up, but since the encoder only has one IP address for all 4 channels, MAX only gives me access to the first camera channel. I cannot figure out how to address cameras 2-4.
NOTE: I can use VLC or something similar to access all 4 video channels, and the way I do this is by specifying a camera parameter in the rtsp:// addressing string. For example:
rtsp://172.24.0.164/axis-media/media.amp?camera=2 // get the video from camera #2
But I can't figure out how to do this in LabVIEW. I'm assuming there must be a way, though. This can't be the only multi-port video encoder out there.

If the DroidX had a front camera how easy would it be to video call with Skype or Fringe?

Apparently EVO with Sprint you can video conference with Fringe but is this something that has to been done through WIFI? I was ready to upgrade to the DroidX but I am wondering if I should hold off for the front camera. I love using Skype video and it would be amazing to have this feature on the phone if it is an easy thing to do.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone is knowledgable about this information.

Since that is a hypothetical situation (Droid X front camera), there is no real way to even guess how the carrier or manufacture would implement this feature because if you look at how other devices use this feature you notice that they are not implementing this feature the same way. Also in regards to the EVO video calls is across the 4G network but from what I have read they have been experiencing a lot of connection issues do to the network being over whelmed (which isnt a surprise)...

How to implement Oracle user/role security with Access front end?

We have successfully migrated our Access database tables to Oracle 10g using SQL developer. We've recreated all the users and roles(i.e., access groups) in Oracle and granted rights to tables.
In the Access front end database, in the Database window we have saved linked Oracle tables which replaced the Access tables. The forms, reports, queries run fine with the linked Oracle tables. All the linked table use one ODBC DSN to the Oracle database with the same Oracle user id.
We need to be able to authenticate users into the Oracle database and RE-link the tables based on their own unique user id. By during so we can allow users to use the Oracle standard user id/role and system privileges to control select, update, ect. rights to the database.
I've been able to use the VB code within Access to logon into the database with a unique id, but I have not been able to find out how to RE-link the tables to the unique user id using VB. There should be some way to relink tables dynamically, based on users login into the Access front end.
I don't know a great deal about Access projects, but I do know with SQL server allows login into your Access project and link tables dynamically.
Can someone give me some assistance or point me in the right direction?

We had one of our programmers here come up with a VB code solution for re-linking table within Access. However the relinking takes 3-4 minutes for 100+ tables.
In an effort to help you understand the situation better, I will attempt to elaborate on the problem:
We have an Access 2003 application which currently has a front end using Access(forms, reports, queries, & VB code) and a MS Access 2003 backend.
We have migrated the backend tables to Oracle. However, we still have a need to maintain the front end in Access, since we have over 60 forms, 40 reports, 200+ queries in Access. Its easy to understand, we have a significant investment in the front end(Obviously, the plan is to migrate the front end also at some future date).
In order to utilized the existing front end, we have to validate and modify the current front end connections to the new Oracle backend. One of the features of Access is that you can "link" tables and save the link for runtime. Each Access table can have its own link which is a separate ODBC/JET connection. As such, each separate link has its own userid/database information.
The other issue with using the Access front-end is that Access utilizes a workgroup file to implement user and group security. The workgroup file contains all the users and which groups the users belong to in Access. Then within Access, you allow users access to object(tables, queries, ect) by their userid and or group. When users open an Access database with Access security enabled, they are required to log into Access. The login is authenticated by the workgroup file. Once, logged into Access, users have rights to Access objects based on their rights granted to their userid and groups they belong. The problem here is that when you remove the linked Access tables and replace them with linked Oracle tables, Access has knowledge about Oracle table rights granted to users; nor would you expect it to.
The dilema is the disconnect between Access and the fact Oracle utilizes a similar but much more sophisticated security model. It creates users and roles(which are similar to Access groups), and again this is independent of Access security.
Our solution was to still use the Access workgroup file security along with the Oracle security model. By using the Access userid and then creating a similar Oracle userid with similar table rights granted in Access, you could apply security within Access and also with the Oracle database.
For example, a user BOB logs into Access via the workgroup file, using VB code, Access then establishes a Oracle connection logining into Oracle using the same unique userid BOB into Oracle.
After connecting and validating user BOB into Oracle, then the Access tables are relinked to Oracle using the user BOB userid and table rights.
This Oracle userid has been granted table rights specific for this userid.This allows the user BOB to use the Access application and still be authenticated into the Oracle database.
The problem with this solution is that the relinking of the saved Access tables takes 3-7 minutes for about 100+ tables. This is not acceptable for users each time they log into the application.
Our current alternative is to use one Oracle userid to login each user, and use Access form restrictions/security to allow/prevent users from updating/viewing data. Obviously, this is not the optimal solution in respect to security, but it at least allows us to control access to the data(via the forms) by using one logon required for each user, and quick startup time for the application.
I understand SQL server does a better job in integration, but we use Oracle which is what I am trying to work with.

How do I remove the "mirror" image on the front camera?

After I take photos on the front camera to say a "selfie" the image is then flipped and saved. I research online and people say it's what the camera sees (like looking into a mirror) and that's how we really look in real life but I can prove this to not be true!! Here is why, I have a beauty mark on my face on the left side and when I take a selfie my iPhone saves it to show it on the right!! And when I look into an actual mirror it's obviously on left where it should be not on the right!! IS THERE a way to remove this on the new iPhone?!? All apple product seem to do this!! iPhone, iPads even my Mac! But this not true on regular cameras. HELPPP this issue is making me not get another iPhone for I travel for a living and take tons of pics.

I noticed that all of the selfies I had taken with Instagram were reversed. This was odd to realize; I have had the phone for a month, and when I see a reversed selfie it looks normal to me ... I part my hair on the left, and I didn't notice that all of my avatars for things had my hair parted on the wrong side. I was reviewing some Facebook photos and it was very obvious that some of my pics have my hair parted on the wrong side. It was kind of weird figuring out that the ones that looked right were the wrong ones...
So I played around a bit. With the built in camera app, when I am framing a selfie, it sure would be awkward to try to center yourself in the picture if the image wasn't reversed. I've had devices with front-facing cameras where you could un-reverse the image, and it is quite disorienting to try to center yourself. So I get WHY the image is reversed (one of the reasons at least). I noticed too that when I snap the selfie with the built-in camera app, that the picture un-mirrors as it takes. There is a brief animation as the image flips side-to-side.
For me and my phone/situation, it is when I use Instagram to take pictures from the front-facing camera. Instagram just seems to grab the actual image from the screen, and not do the un-mirroring that the built in photo app uses. So, my solution is to not use the Instagram app to snap the actual selfie, but to use the built in phone app to take it, then afterwards I open the photo in instagram and do my tweaking. Just slightly less than elegant for now, I am hoping that a future Instagram update will give you control on whether to un-mirror the front-facing camera. But I see this as my phone working correctly, and the app itself being the thing that is buggy. In my case.

Do a
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
If problem persist, make an appointment with genius bar for evaluation.

My I pod touch 5 front camera isn't working. How can I fix it. I have also already tried to reset it multiple times.

If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Try closing the Camera app via the taskbar and see if it works when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Camera app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Camera app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
