How to access ftp account externally

Hello,
I'm using a the server app on 10.8.4 with no-ip. A subdomain of mine (home.mindofmedia.eu) links to that server. When I access that subdomain I can see the default webpage of the server. So that worked.
I also enabled the FTP on the server. But how can I connect to it?
I guess the ftp account username and password is the same as the admin account.
When I try to login internaly on the ftp account (thru terminal) it works. (ftp 192.168.0.50)
But when I try to login thru the subdomain it fails (ftp home.mindofmedia.eu)
I got this error message: Abort Trap: 6
Any idea how I can login on the ftp account thru the subdomain?

I would only need FTP (or whatever) access to this server for this reason.
I have a script that automaticly backups all my websites (about 25 websites).
Instead of buying online storage for this I thought why backup on my home server. That is way cheaper then.

I have already implemented a credit card payment application so I may be able to suggest you a few pointers ...
1) I envisage your application to accept the customer credit card details
2) You need post the information to a third party site[banking domain], and this domain should return you the success/failure of the transaction. Explore more on what information is expected from them and how you will get the result back to your application. We dont know it ..but you need to ask them.
3) Your site should be https enabled else you will make things easy for hackers.

I resolved it by changing the tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files adding the external web entry url "ec2-10-20-30-40.compute-1.amazonaws.com" and now am able to access it externally.

How to access music on external hard drive?

Hi, I picked up my new iMac yesterday and am stuck! I have an external hard drive that has stacks of music, movies etc on it. I was hoping to be able to plug it into my iMac and iTunes would find it all, but that doesn't seem to work.
The music was ripped onto the hard drive using a Windows PC - is that the root of my problem and is there a simple way of getting around it? I don't want to copy all the files onto the hard drive of my iMac because it'll take up too much room, so keeping it on my external is the preferred option.

You want to leave the music on the external? Simple enough to fix.
But first, is the drive formatted NTFS? Macs cannot write to NTFS without adding a driver, such as this -> NTFS-3G
Easiest way is this...
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select *New library* and select the external drive.
Now there should be a new iTunes folder on the external.
Go to the external /iTunes/iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes.
Drag all the media to this folder and iTunes will move it to teh external /iTunes/iTunes media/ in the correct folder (Movies/Music/TV Shows, etc.)

I am trying to write Module which takes care of processing 50MB to 100MB file and split based on conditions of the record structure of the file. Where we are trying to reduce the file size and takes care of certain logic by eliminating/building xml etc...while splitting file.
In order to use FTP library, is there any standard library available or supported by SUN.

why would you? file adapter supports FTP - so you don't need it

How do i deny access to an External Hard Drive while using user switching

Hello,
I have a QuickSilver running Tiger (Leopard upgrade coming when RAM arrives) and have 4 users ( fast user switching enabled). I would like to deny all access to the external hard drives except for the my account on the box.
I have already have gone into the info Sharing & Permissions and only allowed myself to have access, others have "no access" however when I switch user (using fast user switching) they assume ownership of the drives and have access.
Just so you understand the overall direction I would like to go. I'm a photographer and my images are loaded on various external hard drives which is plugged in to the desktop. Family uses the desktop and do not want them to access my work on the external hard drive, however I do need to connect via my laptop to edit images via ethernet which I would obviously enter the admin username and password for the desktop when challenged.
Any ideas???

P.S. I also changed the permissions via unix to 700 but guess what it doesn't matter! It still assumed the other users ownership upon switch. Does anyone have a proven solution?

Today I was doing my chemistry homework when all of a sudden my mid 2011 MacBook pro running Lion 10.7.4 started going very very VERY slowly to a point where it was unusable. but I suspect your going to first have to create a data recovery drive
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
to get your data off the machine,
then do a #20 to eliminate the bad sectors as that's why your getting the "pinwheel" it's getting a delay reading from the drive, right when your trying to log in too, what a bad spot for it to happen.

Your best bet would be to try resetting the password to the account that you would like to use via iForgot
Once you log in to that account change the email address to anything, it can even be fake its just a placeholder
After you do that you will be free to change your old email address on your appleID to the new one that is now free to be used as it is no longer attached to the other account.

AS3: How to access and control embedded sounds in an external swf?

I rarely use sounds in AS3/Flash. I am using Flash Pro CS6, but I can't seem to figure out how to access, control (play, stop, etc) sounds embedded in an external SWF loaded into the main SWF.
It's easy to control them when embedded on the main swf. However, on an externally loaded SWR, I get all kinds of errors. For this app, I really need to embed them in the external SWF.
I read several solutions, but none seem to work.
I embed the sound an mp3 file called soundSegment1.mp3 using Flash CS6 import tool and then open the actionscript properties panel on flash to select the class name: SoundSegment1. Then I edit the class code and create a file called SoundSegment1.as and it's saved right next to my document class main.as in the same directory. The code of the SoundSegment1 class looks like this:

I think your code may be over my head though. I think you are using an anonymous function which is not something I am familiar with (but I want to learn about if it's useful).
I also don't know where the classS came from. I see that it's a parameter sent along with the event, but I don't really see where that came from.
