How to access iPhone "Photo Library" to get image file properties?
I want to access iPhone "Photo Library" to get image file properties(name, list etc..) without dialog.
Is there any suitable method/class to this?
Allan,
Thank you for your reply!
My purpose is access to "Photo Library" by iPhone API.
Because, I know several iPhone application which has own image list and the list is synced to "Photo Library".
If I take photo by iPhone native camera, the taken photo is listed up on the image list so I guess those applications can access to "Photo Library" directly.
Or.. any other solution..?

How can I possible lose my entire photo library/ referenced master image file if I have downloaded all my images directly onto Aperture?
CeliaJane, you need to distinguish between the Aperture Library and the Aperture Application.
Aperture stores your images in a database, and it is this database that we have to find and probably to repair, not the application (hopefully). And since you do not see any images, I suspect that Aperture created a new, empty Aperture Library, and you are now viewing this empty library. Usully the library sits in your Pictures fiolder.
Look into your Pictures folder, if you see a file with a colorful icon with three pictures, called something.aplibrary, as shown above. And also enter ".applibrary" into the "Spotlight" searchfield in the upper right corner of your screen. If you have more than one Library, you should be able to find them this way.
The largest file you find will probably be the correct library.
When you have found the correct file called aperturexxxx.aplibrary, try to open it in "First Aid" mode.
Select the Library and press down "command" and "option" key at the same time, while you double click the library.
Now the First Aid dialogue should appear:
Select: Repair Permissions" and see if you can open the Library again. If it did not help, try the other two options in turn.

the 'Photo Library' that is on my iphone 4 is from my previous iphone 3. I know how to sync, but no where on iphoto does the phones Photo Library appear. How do I access this?
To get the photos from your iPhoto Library on your Mobile device to the computer, add them to the Camera Roll, see: http://help.apple.com/iphoto/ipad/1.1/#blnkee26bc1f
Import photos to iPhoto or Aperture on your computer
Tap a photo and tap .
Tap Camera Roll.
Confirm or change the photos you want to share:
Select all the photos in an album or event: Tap All.
Select a range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.
Connect your iOS device to your computer.
Open iPhoto or Aperture, and import your photos. -
Problems Accessing iPhone Photo Library - Wild
Having some issues accessing or even finding the photos stored on my device.
iPhone 4S iOS 5.1
Image Capture only sees the "Camera Roll" (500 or so pictures in there) but I can't access anything else.
Here's how my Photo Library is structured on my device:
Camera Roll (518)
Photo Library (2,385)
Old Camera (741)
Old Library (1,644)
I can't access the last three using Image Capture, iPhoto - can't even find any of these photos via 3rd party file browser utilites. I've also mounted the iPhone to disk but can't find photos anywhere. (I've tried showing/hiding hidden files in OS X - still nothing)
It's strange - they're obviously on the device somewhere.
Any ideas?Neither iPhoto or Image Capture will see any photos on your phone other than photos in your camera roll. The photos in your library are photos that were synced to your phone. The photo sync is one-way: Computer to Phone. The only way to extract these photos from your phone is through the use of third-party software, like this:

I just got a new IMac. I transferred all the photos from our old PC to the Aperture Library on my User account. My wife is set up as another User. She can access Aperture from her User account but there are no photos in the Library. How can I share or giver her access to the photos so that she can work with them on Aperture from her User account?
Move the Aperture library to separate disk or disk partition with plenty of space for all your photos. On a separate disk or partition it will be possible to set the "Ignore ownership on this volume" flag. Then two users can write to the same Aperture library without permission problems.
The procedure is describe here for iPhoto libraries, but this will work for Aperture libraries as well:
iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users
If you want to use a drive for your Aperture library, that has been used with a PC, format it for Mac, before you move the Aperture library there. This can be done with Disk Utility. -
How can I share a library (or other image files) across computers
Hi All;
My wife and I are both freelance photographers. We recently bought aperature ad per the license agreement installed it on my laptop and her mac desktop. We also just bought a 2-Terabyte network RAID storage array.
I want to be able to pull up the images on the network array from either machine (via aperature)
What's the best way to do this ?
Thanks in advanceFirst off, even if you are allowed to install it on both computers Aperture will not let you run two copies on the same subnet with the same serial number at the same time.
Second, Aperture is not designed as a multi-user concurrent access application. The workflows that I have helped people design for multiple photographers do not revolve around accessing the the same library at the same time. They are more like a project check-out/check-in when more than two people contribute to what ends up being a consolidated library. I have monkeyed around and gotten what you ask to work but it is highly inadvisable due to the nature in the way Aperture accesses and modifies the data (a disaster waiting to happen if you access it concurrently). You can share masters but that is pretty much useless if you are working on the same images. If you are not I would suggest something more along the lines of what I have outlined here:

if my new test site is not functioning it is also here:

How do I transfer photos from iPhone photo library?
How do I transfer photos from iPhone photo library?
I had my iPhoto library and Time Machine Backup on an external drive on my Mac Mini - not a clever strategy I know! I recently synced my photo library successfully with my iPhone 5 but now the external drive has died and my most recent backup (on another external drive) is 5 months old. Can anyone advise what is the simplest/quickest method of transferring these photos back from my iPhone photo library whilst ideally maintaining the 'events' folder type structure? Preview doesn't do it as this only allows me to copy photos taken with the iPHone, not the ones in the library.Do you have iPhoto on your iPhone?
Then this should work - use iTunes to sync your iPhoto Library back:
Save photos to your computer

hello , i want to add a folder of photo to my iphon from my comp. i select that folder in itune and sync with my iphone . but i have 2 folder in my iphone .
1-in name of the folder 2-in name of photo library.how i can delete photo library from my iphone but i still have my photo folder? You can't delete the Photo Library. The iPhone stores photos the same way iPhoto does on a Mac. All photos are synced to your Photo Library. The various albums/folders merely contain pointers to the actual photos which are in your Photo Library, they are not duplicates.

How to access the photos on icloud
hi
how to access the photos which i saved in i cloud, from my iPhone 5,
Note: i do not use any PC. and i only have purchased 20 GB of space on an annual sub. so as to save my photos, and create space in my phone and now i am unable to access it,
please advise
thanks
xxvThere isn't really a way to "save" photos to iCloud currently with non-beta software.
iCloud is involved with photos in 2 ways -- backup and Photo Stream.
Backup of an iOS device includes Camera Roll photos but they cannot be viewed at iCloud.com -- the backup can only be used when doing a restore of an iOS device.
Photo Stream photos also cannot be viewed at iCloud.com; Photo Stream is designed as a method of transferring photos from one device to another and is not designed to store the photos. More info http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4486
There is a new feature -- "iCloud Photo Library" -- coming sometime after the iOS 8 release next week: http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/12/apple-demotes-icloud-photo-library-beta/ -
Transfer iphone photo library folders to computer
Instead of syncing all of my photos on my iPhone at once over to my Macbook Pro in order to transfer my photos over to iPhoto, I would like some sort of semblance in doing so. I have all my photos on my iPhone organized in different folders in my iPhone photo library. How do I transfer my folders (pictures in them) over to my computer so that I don't have to reorganize each and every photo once they've been synced to my computer?
1. The photo library on your phone is not the same as your iPhoto Library. For a start, thoe images have been compressed to a very small size to save space on the device and you're missing versions, metadata and so on.
2. You would be better restoring from a back up.
3. You can get these versions off your phone with an app like http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/36028/iphone-photo-transfer . There are others. Search on MacUpdate
4. Once you've recovered them to the computer you'll need to create a new Library to import them.
