  • How to access .dmp data with the Instant Client?

    I'm a total beginner, and am trying to access a .Dmp database. I have installed (on Linux i386):
    Instant Client Basic 11.2 + SDK + SQLPlus
    I'm aware that I have to further set the environment variables ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH, and think I know how it should be done.
    The files installed in the oracle directory are as follows:
    $ ls /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client/lib
    glogin.sql libocci.so libsqlplusic.so ottclasses.zip
    libclntsh.so libocci.so.11.1 libsqlplus.so xstreams.jar
    libclntsh.so.11.1 libociei.so ojdbc5.jar
    libnnz11.so libocijdbc11.so ojdbc6.jar
    $ ls /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client/bin
    adrci genezi sqlplus
    But this is where I hit the wall. Just a couple of questions:
    How do I make the Client to access the data? I've read a bit about name resolution such as tnsnames.ora and EZConnect, but have no idea what these are, even conceptually.
    How do I actually start/configure the Oracle client? Is there an executable somewhere?
    Can the .dmp file be even read by the client or do I have to use the SQLPlus to make queries (as I've read somewhere)?
    As you see I'm clueless. What are the next steps, or could you point me to a practical tutorial that would show what I need to do.
    Thanks a lot for any help..

    Right,
    I browsed the manual, but I didn't understand whether the import utility part of the oracle database software?
    Are there any freely downloadable tools by which I can import the data (and then read with a client?).Everything in the Utilities manual is part of the database software set. If you have a database, you have all of those utilities. If you don't have a database, no third party equivalent to those utilities (if such existed) would be of any value.
    Depending on your database version, the .dmp file could have been created with either 'exp' (export) or 'expdp' (datapump). Unfortunately, by default both utilities produce a file with the .dmp extension, but they are different formats and not interchangeable. You will need to find out exactly how the .dmp file was created. Actually, you need to find out the entire command used to create it, not just which utility, because the options used at export time will affect what options are available and desirable at import time.

  • In a JSP how can access an XML where the XML is present in JAR file in the

    All,
    The Requirement is as below,
    I have a JSP LaunchMe.jsp, and I have a jar utils.jar. both are present in my deployable war file.
    And I have an XML Details.XML present in the utils.jar file.
    Here I want to access Details.xml in the LaunchMe.jsp.
    Can any one please let me know how can I do this.
    Thanks,
    Subramanyam V

    Yes. You have to understand that to read a FILE (one that is seen as a file by your OS), you probably use a FileInputStream, which is a special case of InputStream. When the 'file' is not a FILE anymore, but an entry in a jar (the OS does not see it, only utilities like WinZip or jar see it), you cannot use a FileInputStream, but some other InputStream. Which one? The one returned by getResourceAsStream(), whatever this is (you don't really care). And all the rest will nicely fall into place.

  • How to access JMS queues in the SAP J2EE Engine?

    Hi Gurus,
    Can anybody know how to access the jms dead message queues in the XI J2EE Engine (which is WAS 6.40)?
    I have read in the SAP documentation that we can use some JMS commands from the telnet. I don't know how to use those commands.
    Can anybody provide a step-by-step process to access these queues?
    Thanks
    Kalyan

    1) Open a command prompt
    2) type
    telnet localhost 50008
    where the port is the same as your http, but with 8 as last digit.
    3) Login
    4) Issue the following set of commands
    jump 0
    add jms
    jms list deadmsgs
    Check by man jms other possible options.

  • How to get info on whether the server is enabled and/or running,

    I'm posting this for a customer who  has been testing the capabilities of Business Intelligence Platform RESTful Web Service.
    We're currently at 4.1 SP2 Patch09. But it seems that we're not being able to get the information that we need. For example a call to http://myBIserver:6405/biprws/infostore/16/children is giving us information about servers such as name or description but  it is not telling us whether the server is enabled and/or running, what is the process ID etc.. The JSON response for the above request is:

    Hi Tom,
    As Anthony pointed out, currently it is not possible to get server details like the server state, PID etc. through BIP REST calls. Only prelimnary information about the infostore object is returned. You would need to use the BIP JAVA SDK to retrieve server details. However, we are in the process of enhancing BIP REST SDK. Can you please raise this on idea place under BIP>>SDK category?

  • How to Access Variables defined in the PopUpWindow

    Hi Friends
    I am building a flex site using flex builder 2.....
    Here I need your help.....
    My Problem is how to store a variable from a popup window
    I have this problem while in the login window comes as popup
    while clicking login button in the page a popup where user
    can enter username and password...
    after submitting if the login is successufl the popup
    vanish...
    After a successful login I need to store the logged user name
    in the main index page but I am not able to store
    At first I created a variable 'loggedUsername' in the popup
    panel and after success log i assigned the username to it ... after
    it i am not able to get the loggedUsername..
    doubting I defined the variable in the main index.mxml page
    but this variable is not accessible from the loginwidow.mxml page
    where the popup will function...
    Heip me
    how to store the name if the user login is success..
    thanks
    Chintu...

    Lets say you have a public property in your application like
    public var name:String = "John Smith";
    to access this using an inline item renderer:
    <mx:itemRenderer>
    <mx:Component>
    <mx:VBox>
    <mx:TextInput text={outerDocument.name} />
    </mx:VBox>
    </mx:Component>
    </mx:itemRenderer>
    To access variables of the applicaton you can use
    Application.application.name (for example) to reference "global"
    variables, so you might also use this technique. With an inline
    item renderer, the outerDocument property will refer to the
    component which contains the renderer.

  • How do you make console apps the default application for a file type?

    I have a console movie player, mplayer, that I like a lot. I've compiled it from source on my intel core2 macbook pro and it works fine. There is no gui, but to play movie files you open up a terminal and type the command mplayer /path/to/file. I would like mplayer to play a movie file automatically when I double click on the file, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it. I tried setting it in the file info dialogue, but when I go to the path of the binary I want, it is not selected. How can I set a console app as my default application for my file type?

    there is a GUI mplayer for OS X. why don't you use it instead of the command line one?
    if you insist on using the command line mplayer then the only way to do this is to put a GUI wrapper on it. this can be done with automator or apple script for example. but really, why don't you just use the GUI mplayer?

    How to do that?
    Is there a method or attributes of the view implementation class to do that?
    Best regards

    Hi,
    You can read URL query parameters in your view(.htm) as like below:
    data: lv_guid type string.
    lv_guid = request->GET_FORM_FIELD( name = 'crm-object-value' ).

  • How to access getter/setters from the entity classes

    Let me brake my question to two:

    2. How can I access the entity's getter/setter functions in the JSP page?
    Thank you

    Let me brake my question to two:
    1. in My JSP page, I need to get an exception from either the entity or the view class if I insert a duplicate value into the associated table. How can I do that?You can mark the attribute as unique key attribute and choose to implement the unique-key validation in the Bc4J side. See help on UniqueKey and how to establish such validation
    2. How can I access the entity's getter/setter functions in the JSP page?You cannot access entities directly. You have to expose the accessors via ViewObject Rows and use those Rows from the JSP/or any client side.

  • Adavnced Datagrid: How to access hierarical data from the renderer

    I have an advanced data grid with hierarical data and a renderer that spans all the row when the the heirrical arrow icon is clicked. I want to access the level 1 of data from within the renderer to set data in UI elements. Please let me knwo how to do this.
    My data looks like the  following :
    private var dpHierarchy:ArrayCollection= new ArrayCollection([
                    {type:"Unassigned", date:11-21-2009, payee: "CREDITCARD debit 328", payment:70, deposit:0,accout:"My Visa", envelope:"My Envelope", children:[
                        {checkno:"Unassigned",note:11-21-2009}]}

    You need to add an event listener to the httpservice, the calls to services are asynchronous so that's the reason you'll need to add to your HttpService something like this:
    result="myResultHandler(event)"
    and then create the result handler something like this;
    private function myResultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void{
          Alert.show(loginRequest.lastResult.user,"Testing");
    Although you could omit the event parameter. In the DataGrid your code works because the binding mechanisms detect that the data has change and update the DataGrid, but in this case once you call your function there isn't a way that Flash Player will execute it again withouth calling the function again.

    There are two drop down fields available on simple search in Activities.
    1) Show : with "blank", "My Favorites", "My activities for today" and a lot of other options.
    2) Get : with "Description","partner", "transaction number" and so on.
    I want to know where this drop down field values "My Favorites", "My activities for today" and so on are coming from?
    Any Ideas?

  • How to access Linux HDD?

    Hi, after my NAS (Qnap) crashed I want to hook up the HDD to my Mac. I want to recover the data with a SATA to USB adapter. Which software is needed to access the Linux based file system?
    Thanks for your help!

    If your NAS is using an ext2, 3 or 4 filesystem, you need an application to read and write in it like Paragon ExtFS > http://www.paragon-software.com/home/extfs-mac/

  • How to access Administration console from OEM without providing any credent

    Hi Experts,
    I have installed OEM 12c Cloud Control and added one WebLogic domain as target. When I am monitoring that target I find links for Administration Console and Fusion middleware control on some target pages. When I click on that link it redirescts me to Administration console or Fusion middleware control. But there I have to provide credentials for log-in. Is is possible to configure OEM in a way that it directly open the Administration console and Fusion Middleware Control without asking the username and password?
    Please guide!!

    Hi Roshni,
    The links are provided for any administration tasks that you might want to do outside EMCC and to ensure you can easily navigate to the correct console given that most customers sometimes have hundreds of domains running. However, a single log-in across all domains monitored in EMCC are not included as part of that navigation as not everyone with access to the WLS monitoring capabilities on the WLS target home page in EMCC would automatically get access to the full administration rights provided in those consoles.
