  • Can I create an iTunes account for someone else?

I just bought an ipod for my parents, who are not exactly techno-savy. I was wondering if it would be possible to create an iTunes account on my computer, get their music collection started, and then mail the ipod to them with all the account info so they can just log in and go. Is this possible?

    Yes.

  • Renting from my itunes account on someone else's Apple TV???????

Hi. I'm visiting my parents from overseas. They have a new Apple TV. If I want to rent a tv show on their apple tv, but pay for it with my itunes account, is that possible?? or is there some sort of maximum number of accounts you can use on one Apple tv?
i'd hate to put my account in, and then freeze them out of their own.

    No, you'll be fine.

  • How do I access my icloud account from someone else's iPad?

I want my husband to be able to access my icloud from his iPad.  He does not want to sync my info to his iPad.  He doesn't want to have to use his computer to access it since he doesn't always have his computer with him but he always has his iPad.  Is there a way to sign into icloud as a different user from an iPad?

  • Can i delete my account from someone else's computer

I'm divorcing and not at all tech savvy. My soon-to-be-ex (STBE)  is very tech savvy and is also quite adept at all things Apple/Mac.
I believe that my phone backs up to her Mac computer anytime it's plugged in and connected to wifi (multiple times per day, maybe?).
There are photos and emails and Notes that I do not want to been seen currently or accessed in the future by STBE.
I think the only way to access my data is via my apple ID but I'm not positive. I want to know if there is a need for me to delete things from the computer to remove them forever (especially given that the computer isn't mine).  I would assume that past backups have already stored versions of data I want kept private.
Also, if I have data (music, photos, etc) from my iPhone stored on the cloud, does that mean I can access it from a different computer when I leave?
Some of my data is not on currently on this iPhone but are on the cloud and I'd like to keep them. Is that possible?
Lastly (I'm sorry for all the questions!!) since we share a cell phone plan and I have to give my current iPhone back for some reason, will I still be able to keep all the data to put on a new phone and/or access via cloud?

You might want to delete any backups of your phone from the shared computer and start backing up to iCloud instead (assuming you have a separate iCloud account).  To start backing up to iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud>Backup and turn on iCloud Backup.  To delete backups from the Mac, open iTunes on it, then go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices, then select any backups on your phone listed on the Backups list and click Delete Backup.  (If you're having trouble identifying which backup belongs to your phone, hover your mouse over the backup and a pop-up will open showing the phone number of the device the backup belongs to.)
If you have to start syncing to a new computer, you will want to back up the entire iTunes folder on the Mac to an external drive, then copy that to your new Mac.  You can do this as discussed under "External Drive" here: iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer.  Once on your new computer, you will be able to sync with the new computer without any problems.
If you need to give your phone back, be sure to back it up first, then completely erase it as discussed under "If you still have your iOS device" here: What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.  If you get a replacement iPhone, you can then restore this backup to the new phone to recover your data, settings and purchased media.

  • Opening opening up my Itunes library on someone else's computer

I am having a problem with my powerbook g4 and would like to open up my music library, on a Lacie hard drive, on my sons PC. What's the best way to do this without causing any problems?

If you have the iTunes folder (not only the music) on the external and it contains the iTunes library file, plug it into another Mac, then launch iTunes and immediately press and hold Option. It will ask to *Create new* or *Choose existing library*.
Select *Choose existing library* and select the iTunes library file on the external drive.
If the iTunes library file is not on the external, open iTunes and go to File -> Add to library if you want to add all this music to this iTunes.

  • Logging into iTunes on someone else's computer

I have authorization to unlock my iPhone. Can I log into my iTunes account using someone else's computer to complete the process?

That will create a problem regarding your iTunes content. By design, iPhone syncs or manually manages iTunes content with one computer at a time. So, if you do this on a computer you don't normally sync with & then go back to the computer you do normally sync with, you're gonna lose your iTunes content each time. But, you can re-download it or sync it back.

  • Logging onto .mac accout with someone else's computer

It has been so long since I tried accessing my mail account from someone else's computer (using windows) that I can't remember where to go to log in to my mail accounts while travelling. Blackberry only has 1 main mail account. Help????! trying to access my mail on line...thanks [email protected]

Are you talking about your @mac.com email account?
If so, this isn't the right forum for your question - this is specifically about running your own mail server for your own domain.
That said, the answer is easy enough - http://mail.mac.com/ (you'll get redirected to the appropriate place).
If it's not .Mac you're asking about then there's no way anyone can answer without knowing the account you're trying to log into.

    Hi pjerl,
Depending on when you originally set up your Apple ID, you may have @mac.com, @me.com, and @icloud.com email addresses associated with your account, but all mail sent to those addresses should still come in to the same iCloud account (you can test this to make sure by sending yourself emails at those addresses). You may find the following articles helpful:

  • I cannot get to or use my home pc for a while and am staying with a friend for the foreseeable and am using their pc to write this. How do I access my itunes account on their pc. Thanks Karen

I cannot get to or use my home pc for some time and am staying at a firends and using their pc to write this. I need to access my itunes account and music on their pc. How do I do this. Thanks

An easy route would be to use the iTunes Match service such that all your Songs are available anywhere over the internet via iCloud.  Once complete you can create an account on your friends PC, download iTunes and sign-in to the iTunes Store with your Apple Id, start iTunes Match and it will provide access to all your Songs.
Not quite so good, is simply to follow the steps on your friends PC as above, however, instead of iTunes Match simply access the 'purchased' songs area from the iTunes Store home page that will give you access to all your purchases without iTunes Match.
IMPORTANT:  Apple only like to see a single Apple Id associated with one device - so if your friend already has an active Apple Id account on the PC, it would be wise to use an alternate machine.  Apple has a 90 day lock out associated with switching Apple Ids on a common device.

  • How do i access my itunes account? i lost my iphone months ago and now have been given a unlocked iphone. when opening itunes i cant see any of my music/apps etc. How do i bring them back? pls help

How do i access my itunes account, i had an iphone with loads of music and apps. lost it but now i have a new one given to my by my gfriend.
When i load up itunes and sign in none of my media is there in the libary. although i can see my previous purchases.
Will my account have been frozen when it was lost by orange? How do i get all my stuff back into my libary so i cant sync with my new phone?
    pls help

Apps and ibooks you should be able to re-download for free, assuming that they are still available in the store and you use the same iTunes account that you originally used to buy/download them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 . Music bought from iTunes can only currently be re-downloaded if you are in the US, and I assume that you are in Carlisle here in England in which case you won't be able to re-download music.
Have you still got the purchases on your computer, or on a backup that you can copy back onto the computer and then load into iTunes ?

A single computer can be authorized for multiple iTunes accounts but only one account can be signed into the store at a time.
Frankly, you are better off with unique Windows User accounts for each user.
