How to access sent folder in mail?

couple of questions:
1) how to access sent mail folder to assure that mail has been sent?
2) how to attach a document to email?
3) how to create additional folders in mail?
using att wifi

I came across your post and thought I'd share Ivan54's post as an answer to your question:

The main thing is that it should be on landscape view to access the folders in your email accounts.
Hope this helps.

  • "Sent" folder in Mail doesn't sync with "Sent" folder on Gmail. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am completely stumped by this and really REALLY frustrated.
I can't figure out how to make the "sent" folder in mail (i.e the one with the paper plane icon) contain ALL my sent messages from Gmail.
It works perfectly fine on my iPhone and iPad but just not mail on my mac!!!
I am using Mail version 4.5 and Snow Leopard.
    PLEASE someone HELP!!!
    Thanks

I'm new here so you'll have to bear with me if my explanation needs work!
I suspect that your problem may be that your Mac is storing the sent stuff on the local folder (probably hapening with junk and trash too???) If this is the case then...
Make sure you have the correct IMAP path prefix - entered in Mail Preferences > Accounts > Advanced - I believe that the prefix you need is Gmail
Quit Mail so it doesn't interfere with what you're doing,
Open  ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist with the Property List Editor
Take a back up copy (I saved mine to desk top) of com.apple.mail.plist
Look for the key named MailAccounts and click the arrow to expand it
you should see all your accounts indexed as 0, 1, 2, etx
Find your IMAP accounts (check that the key AccountType is IMAPAccount)
Find the key SentMessagesMailboxName and change it to Gmail/Sent (substitute INBOX for IMAP Path Prefix if incorrect)
Find the key TrashMailboxName and change it to Gmail/Trash
I think I had to do the same with junk too
Hope that is of some use or at least makes enough sense :-)

  • TS3899 How to see sent n trash mails etc on pale I phone 5

    How to access sent messages

I do not understand what you mean by "sent n trash mails"
Did you delete the send emails and now want them back?
    Maybe (from manual):
Recover a deleted message. Go to the account’s Trash mailbox, open the message, then tap and move the message. Or, if you just deleted it, shake iPod touch to undo. To see deleted messages across all your accounts, add the Trash mailbox. To add it, tap Edit in the mailboxes list and select it from the list.
Stash your trash. You can set how long deleted messages stay in the Trash mailbox. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > account name > Account > Advanced.

  • Email sent on my iphone 5 does not show in the sent folder in mail on my macbook pro and vice versa especially since update to Yosemite

I have an iphone 5 and a Macbook pro. Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I send an email from my yahoo email account or another email account linked to my website, on my iphone, the emails don't show in the sent folder in mail on my macbook pro and vice versa.
I have deleted the accounts and re-created them on both my iphone and macbook pro but the samething keeps happening.
When last I was at the istore, they were unable to sort it out and said I needed to book it in.
Any suggestions that will prevent me from booking my macbook pro in are welcome.

    Hi,
Are you saying you are trying to synch iMessages across two iPhones ?
Or do you mean you are trying to get iMessage that were synced to one iPhone to show on another ?
Whilst the first is possible - from the date you add the second iPhone the second  is not possible.

  • When using iphoto to e-mail photos the resulting e-mail doesn't show up in sent folder of mail.

There seems to be a an incompatibility within iphoto when you share images from within Iphoto using Apple Mail. The e-mail seems to send fine but when you try to go back and look for it in the sent folder of mail, it isn't there....
Also, when the recipient of the e-mail with the photos replies to your e-mail, the resulting reply that you receive in Apple Mail is not viewable. It shows up in the list of e-mails, but can not be opened...
    Anyone else seeing these issues?

Nope - have not seen that complaint here are all
Just to verify - you are using Apple Mail?  It does not sound like it. You set it in the iPhoto preferences. If you are using the default iPhoto mail rather than Apple mail then there is no sent folder and people on PCs may have trouble viewing the photos
If you are using Apple mail try exporting a photo and attaching it and try doing one using the Mail media browser and see - as far as mail is concerned there is no difference between starting the mail from iPhoto and starting it from mail

  • How to sync SENT boxes from Mail and Yahoo Mail?

I have a Yahoo! mail acct. (it's actually a AT&T acct. with an sbcglobal.net domain name accessible through Yahoo mail). I access this acct. through Mail via POP at home, and at work I access it via web.
How can i get mail messages sent via Mail to show up when I access it via the web and vice versa? Is this possible?

There is one option and that is to use Mail's 'automatically cc (or bcc) myself' function, which you can enable from the Composing preference pane. Then you can set up a filter in Yahoo mail to move any message originating from your own address to another folder. Unfortunately, it doesn't let you move them to the regular Sent folder, but you can create a new folder called Sent Mail or something and move them there - at least then you'll have a copy.
N.B. that 'automatically cc myself' is a global preference, so it applies to all your accounts.

  • Duplicate Messages in Sent Folder--Apple mail and gmail

I recently started using apple mail for my two gmail accounts.
I have properly configured all folders (highlight "trash" from gmail and click use this mailbox for..)
since i have two gmail accounts, i did this for both of them.
i did a couple of test emails from my main gmail account. now, in my sent folder it's showing duplicates for what i've sent, one from my main gmail account, one from my second gmail account.
I've tried to uncheck the box where it saves messages on server in preferences, and that seemed to work. however, i checked on my iphone and my sent message showed up..not in my main gmail account sent mail, but in my secondary gmail account sent mail.
    can this be fixed?

check out the settings here: http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78892#
    specifically:
From the Mail menu, click Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors
    Drafts:
Store draft messages on the server > do NOT check
    Sent:
Store sent messages on the server > do NOT check
    Junk:
Store junk messages on the server > checked
Delete junk messages when > Never
    Trash:
Move deleted messages to the Trash mailbox > do NOT check
Store deleted messages on the server > do NOT check

  • How to save sent messages in mail??

For the life of me, I cannot figure out a rule that simply saves sent mail in the sent folder and marks it as read. I do not see a simple "save sent mail" setting in preferences, so I set up a rule that I want applied to outgoing mail only, and the problem is that it's being applied to outgoing and incoming. Here is the closest I could come up with:
If all of the following conditions are met:
-from is equal to (my email address)
    perform the following actions:
    -move message to mailbox sent
    -mark as read
So with this rule everything works correctly except all of the mail that is sent from my email address to my email address (such as an automated reminder email) is going into the sent mail and marked as read. If I select "copy" message to mailbox, two copies are saved in mail.
I had this working correctly in Tiger, not sure if there used to be a saved sent mail setting or if my rule was somehow different and I'm not figuring out what it was.
After all this, I'm sure someone is going to point out something that's right in front of my face.

I am using a simple pop account. My goal is to simply save all sent mail in the sent folder while having them marked as read. The only setting in preferences I see regarding sent mail is under: accounts/mailbox behaviors/erase copies of sent mail when -> select Never.
I have never selected, but sent mail is not being saved in the sent folder without the rule I created. Although the rule doesn't do exactly what I want because it is applied to both incoming and outgoing mail and I only want it applied to outgoing. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't even need a rule with "never" selected under mailbox behaviors and mail is just not functioning properly. I've seen some other threads about people's sent mail being saved very sporadically, so I wouldn't doubt that this is a bug with mail.

  • Send BCCs to self from iPhone to Sent folder in Mail

On my iPhone, I've enabled the option to always BCC myself on outgoing messages, so that I can have a copy stored on my computer (when I open Mail to grab messages) for archive purposes.
But it doesn't make much sense to have these messages from myself to myself showing up in my inbox. I want them to be in my Sent folder, which I can do manually via right-click > Move To... but I'd much rather this happen automatically.
I tried setting up a rule for this but there's option to screen based on a BCC recipient.
    Any ideas?

Check out this link - it's in the "More Like This" box to the right of your post:
    Rule for BCC
    I just tried
    {From} {Contains} emailaddress
    and it seems to work.

  • No sent folder in mail??

i am on my 3rd iphone 3g (thats another story) i just got my 3rd iphone the other day i have sent email and i have heard the whoosh noise, but i don't have the sent folder like i used to, am i missing something?? how do i get it? my iphone is 2.2.1 not jailbroken and im on btinternet in the UK..any help out there?

    Hi,
Is the email account setup as POP, IMAP, or Exchange?
Try Restarting the iPhone by holding the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears> then slide to turn off> and turn the iPhone back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake again, as described on page 34 of the iPhone User Guide.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/iPhoneUserGuide.pdf
If the issue persists, try deleting the account from the iPhone and adding it again.

  • Why does FireFox truncate part of an E-mail of more than one page when I try to print it out? How can I sent an E-mail blaet to several but only show one name o

When I try to print out an E-mail that is longer than one page, part of the 2nd page is truncated. I then have to go to Safari to print out the entire E-mail without part of it being truncated.
When I have multiple E-mail addresses on a single E-mail, how can I send the E-mail so that each recipient only sees his/her name and E-mail address rather than everyone else that the E-mail is addressed to?
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Bill Leete

Some style rules that Firefox handles well on the screen can cause this problem. Many email sites have a print button which simplifies the message format and removes navigation elements, etc., and Firefox generally handles print-formatted pages better. If your email site doesn't have print-formatted pages or those do not print, a "hack" is to select the text you want to print and then choose the Selection option in the print dialog.
To hide email addresses from recipients, you need to place them in the BCC field. What do you put in the TO field in that case? You can use your own address.

  • How to create a folder in mail 10.9.1

Ok we just updated to Mavericks 10.9.1 and we have lost all our seperate folders in our mail. We used these to move emails that we already addresses without deleting them. But the mailbox would delete it from our server. How do I create new ones?

These kind of Folders are called Mailbox in Apple Mail (a bit confusing).
    Here are the steps:
In Apple Mail's menu bar goto View > Show Mailbox List (if it says hide mailbox list skip)
In the left pane choose your Mailbox that you want to add a folder under (scroll down past the inbox list).
In Apple Mail's menubar goto Mailbox > New Mailbox
You should get a dialogbox where you can choose the location of your new folder/mailbox.  It will look something like this:
    Hope that helps.

  • Mail Sent from MacBook Air Doesn't Show Up in 'Sent' Folder in Mail in iPho

Mail sent from the MacBook Air does not show up in the iPhone 'Sent' Mail folder. Incoming mail shows up in both devices' inboxes. Is this normal?

You need to set the mailbox behavior:
    Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar -> .Mac/.Me -> Account Info -> Advanced
At "Mailbox Behaviors" you can choose if the "Drafts Mailbox", "Sent Mailbox", and "Deleted Mailbox" uses a mailbox "On My iPhone" or "On the Server".
Before you change the settings, move the mails in Mail.app from the Sent mailbox on your iPhone to a (temporarily created) folder on the MobileMe server. Then change the settings and move the mails from the previous step to the Sent mailbox on MobileMe. Now they all should be visible on your iPhone.
