How to access the apps server inside guest from host.

my setup is
windows 7 - host
OEL 5 - virtualbox guest
i have it setup with bridged networking with static IP 192.168.1.91.
my virtualbox guest is running oracle ebs 12. i can access from firefox inside the guest the url http://xt12:8000
i can ping the guest ip from host .
however when i try to open the url(http://192.168.1.91:8000) from Internet Explorer browser inside the host it do not open.
appreciate any suggestion.

appreciate any suggestion.Check iptables inside the guest: a default Oracle Linux install has the firewall enabled, which will block inbound connections.

How to access the Terminal Server on a Macintosh computer

Hi everyone,
Actually i have a Macintosh Computer Os X v.10.8.5
i have tried to acess the Terminal Server with 2 methods:
1) The 1st method: i tried the application: "Microsoft Remote Desktop client 2.1.1" but il doesn't work at all. It appears: "impossible to connect"
2 The 2nd method: i downloaded the application "Microsoft Remote Desktop app 8.0.3" from itunes.
I filled all configurations but when i tried to connect, i had a black screen with "Connecting" in the middle of my screen and nothing else happened.
I need your help please, someone who use an access the Terminal Server on a Macintosh
(Computer Os X v.10.8.5 or later)

What are you trying to remote desktop to? A Windows PC?
Are you able to ping the computer you are trying to connect to using RDP?
You can use the in-built network tools on OS X to Ping the target computer.
If you cannot ping the target then this could indicate either:
There is an incorrectly configured firewall on the target machine that isn't configured to allow incoming RDP
You don't have network access to the target machine.
If the target machine is Windows based Check the Remote options are as below:
Try to configure the connection properties using the target machines IP address rather than Hostname.
If you get just a blank screen i have seen this in the past where that is the mac struggling to resolve the target computer details but this is over a VPN to my work place, reconnecting the VPN resolves this every time though.

When I deploy an application with Java Studio Creator to the App Server it is automatically set to an HTTP URL. How do I setup HTTPS ?

Looks like I should have thanked myself in advance....
Turns out its pretty easy. Open the admin console, go to configuration, add and HTTP listener, check the security check box, and fill out the other mandatory fields like the port. Standard SSL port is 443.
Save changes, and restart the App Server. Any deployed apps should be reachable via https://localhost:443/myWebApp
This approach uses a default certificate that comes with the app server. Here is a link if you want to create a certificate :

How to access the client PCs via RDP FROM Windows Server 2003

Hopefully this is not an ignorant question, but every thread I've read focuses on client PCs not being able to access the terminal server. I have the opposite problem. I am working remotely and have full access to the servers (some of which are virtuals).
I need to be able to connect to the various workstations, but I cannot. Is this just a setting I have misconfigured? Is there any software I can deploy to these PCs that will allow me to log in and update their workstations?
Any help is sincerely appreciated.

Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
You can able to take RDP for client system from server. But keep in mind that; client system can only allow 1 RDP session at a time for administrator purpose. For that you need to have permission for taking rdp session.
Also you need to verify that “Remote Desktop Service” service is running and also need to verify the below thread as per snap.
In addition, if you want to manage all the server and client system, then you can use Remote Desktop Connection Manager to manage all the client and server remotely.

I have managed to install the R12.1.1 Vision instance on a Linux server and can access the Applications from windows Client, but when I try to run the Applications from the Linux Server console (where it is installed) I am able to Login and Open the Responsibilities page. But as soon as I click on any Oracle Forms function (Java Applet) it asks to install the J2SE Plug-in (like a Window Client). Therefore, I cannot open any Form :(
Any guidance on how to run the Applications on the Linux Server Console ?

Is there any easy way I can access the certificates in the Java plugin certificate store?
I think I can load the C:\Documents and Settings\<login user>\ Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs into a KeyStore and examine the certificates that way.
But I just wonder if there is more robust way to do this without loading up an external file since an applet is executed within a Java plugin.

The following should give you enough to search for discussions, as well as some general details of IP network gizmos and boxes: You'll need an ISP tier of service that allows remote access and preferably with a static IP address (static versus dynamic IP). This as various ISPs prohibit server-oriented protocols such as HTTP TCP port 80 traffic, and some firewall server-oriented ports. You'll then either need to use either dynamic DNS with your public dynamic IP — this is the hacking-around and not-really-for-production approach — or static IP with traditional DNS, and you'll also need to enable what's called port forwarding (sometimes also called virtual server) through your gateway-firewall-NAT device and into your server for TCP port 80 and possibly also TCP port 443. This port forwarding gets the incoming connections from the 'net into your public IP address (static or dynamic) mapped through to your NAT'd IP address space and your private IP address for your server.
As the first part of getting any of this to work with OS X Server, launch Terminal.app on the server and issue the following harmless diagnostic command:
sudo changeip -checkhostname
This checks for common errors in the local DNS setup, and broken networking and broken DNS tends to cause other errors elsewhere in the environment. You'll need to enter an administrative password for the sudo, you might get a one-time informational message from the sudo, and you'll then get some configuration details and then an indication that DNS and local networking needs no changes, or that there are configuration issues.

I have servlet called Manage, which initializes a bunch of stuff in its init() method. Can I configure tomcat so that it will automatically call the init() method of this servlet when it is deployed (as opposed to waiting for the first request to come in to initialize it?

Anyway, if you really need to initialize your servlet as soon as your web application starts, you can use in your web.xml something like this:

There might be better ways but you can try one of these two too:
- Launch Oracle Installer (using runInstaller executable) and check under "Installed Products".
- On Unix/Linux, try this:
cd $ORACLE_HOME/inventory

I m having very simple problem about getText() and setText(). I am developing the user interface for an application. I got the JTextField on one panel and one button on other panel. When I try to do getText() and SetText() operation on the JTextField which is placed on a JPanel with the help of JButton click event Which is placed on other panel. The JTextField doesn't response. My program is not showing any compilation as well as runtime error. So how can i solve this problem?
