What is the model number of the Router? Let me know the name of the ISP (Internet Service Provider)? In order to work with the Guest network you have to install the router first. For the setup process, you need to perform the following:
    i. Verify that there is an active Internet connection between the computer and modem
ii. Setting up the router using Cisco Connect

  • What info do I need to enter to access my home wireless router when setting up my new IPad?

While setting up my new IPad I keep having trouble connecting to my home wireless router.  It keeps telling me to pick a wi-fi network from the list it gives me of ones that are available.  I choose my home wi-fi network that is password protected and it places a check mark next to the name.  From that point it does nothing.  It says "connecting to network" and the circle icon appears and seems to be searching for the connection but nothing ever happens.  The lock symbol remains next to my wireless network name and I can't seem to continue with my IPad set-up.  My router (Belkin) has a card where I recorded the information from its set-up and it has a SSID, a password and a network name.  These description don't seem to correspond with the descriptions that my IPad is asking me for and I haven't been able to go further.  PLEASE HELP!!

Connect to a router via web browser from another device, open "settings" -> "wireless"( sequence and title of menu depending on model and manufacturer of your router) and try to change wireless mode to 802.11N or if this mode not accessable, to 802.11g mode only. Save this settings( router will reboot) and connect Ipad2.

  • 2nd wireless router security settings

Hi, hope someone can answer this for me.
I have a WRT-610N and I've just set up a 2nd wireless router (E3000) to extend range of my wireless network.
Same SSID, same subnet, DHCP off etc.  All works fine.  Network passwords I set identically.
My question is: what security settings should I apply on the 2nd router?  i.e. I have MAC address filtering on the internet-connected primary router, the WRT-610N - should I apply this on the E3000 also?
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. wireless MAC filtering is useless anyway. Don't set it up. It's only causing problems to you. (You would have to set it up on all access points/routers)
    2. Setup WPA2 Personal with AES and a strong passphrase. That's secure.
    3. Set up identical SSID and wireless security setting on both for a roaming network.
    4. Choose different channels on both, if you use static channel assignments to avoid interference.
    5. Make sure SSID broadcast is enabled.

  • Accessing wireless router thru wired modem/router

I am running XP Home with DSL connection to the internet. I have a ZyXEL Prestige 600 modem/router. Notice that it is a modem/router all in one, not two different items. Someone gave me a used Linksys WRT55AG wireless router that I am trying to setup for use with my daughter's laptop. I have the phone line hooked to the wired modem/router and then the modem/router connected to a hub. From the hub I go to my two desktop computers. I can come off the hub and connect to the wireless router. Then I open my browser (firefox) and type in 192.168.1.1 and can access my ZyXEL modem/router. I have tried 192.168.1.2, 192.168.2.1, and several other combinations for the last two numbers. My default gateway is 192.168.1.1. My IP address is dynamic but is listed as 192.168.1.33. How do I get to the wireless router to re-do the setup?
    thanks,
    Harold

Hookup one computer to the router all by itself via cable to one of the lan ports in back.  Push and hold the reset button in back for 30 seconds, release.  Now power cycle the router.  Connect to 192.168.1.1 with username blank, passwork admin.  Reconfigure the router to the IP you need.

  • How to access/update Routing Rules in WorklistApplication console ?

    Hi,
Even when I deployed the sample application workflow-106-IterativeDesign provided at http://java.net/projects/oraclesoasuite11g/downloads/directory/HumanWorkflow?field=date&order=asc , the routing rules are not appearing in WorklistApplication console.
    is this a bug ?

  • How to choose wireless router

    Hi
I am facing with the problem. How to choose the wireless router part number support the following:
    Support 802.11n/a/b/g standard
Operates on both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency
Support Power over Ethernet (so you don’t have to wire the power cable, just use LAN)
Support QoS in order to provide different service level based on priority
    MUST have WPA2 encryption
    Best Regard,
    Kthh

The 3600 AP has an AC module that suits your needs.  The SKU tha includes the module is:
    AIR-3602E-AC-xK9 or
    AIR-3602I-AC-xK9
3602E has external antennae while 3602I has internal.  Replace the x in xK9 with the letter for yout regulatory domain.  US would be AK9.
Cisco also has an AP with internal AC capabilities, the 3700.  The SKUs are:
    AIR-CAP3702E-x-K9 or
    AIR-CAP3702I-x-K9

  • Wireless Router Security Setup

Sorry in advance if this is a stupid question but I am fairly new to my mac. (love it by the way)
We have DSL at home and recently bought a Belkin Wireless G router. I put in the cd that came with it and selected the Mac option for install. Now, after this it took only a few seconds and was done. All connected and up and running in nothing flat. My wife was able to connect via her PC laptop no problem.
I want to secure this wireless connection and I can't quite figure out how. Oddly enough there is no Belkin icon for me to click on to get into any properties. When I type belkin into my spotlight search nothing comes up. I assume I should be setting up the security directly on my mac somehow but just not sure how.???
Have tried reading and searching but still can't find anything. Right now I am assuming my question is just too simple so no one else has this problem but I just can't get my pea sized intellect to figure it out.
    Thanks All!

Well, you do have Security on your Mac, but what you want is to address the router's Setup page
Run Safari and type this into the url bar...
    http://192.168.2.1
You should see a Menu there.
Come to think of it, this is probably the best source on how to...

I think this might be your Router.

  • Wireless Router Security Question

I use your Linksys WRT 600N router with login & PW on a satellite internet connection with file sharing for a second laptop. If someone trolled by on the lake within a hundred feet could they get my signal and access my pc files while I was logged on…or would they be asked for a PW to login?
    DD

Setup your wireless connection using WPA or WPA2 as security.  They will need your passphrase to connect to your network.  Do not use Linksys as your network name.  Change your router password to something other than admin.

  • WRT546 v5 wireless router security settings mysteriously reset?

Hi. I owned a WRT546 v5 Linksys wireless 802.11g router. After purchasing it roughly 2 years ago, I set up my network name and set WPA security. About a year ago I noticed that it has somehow been reset to the default settings: network name - linksys / . Rather chagrinned and a bit frightened, I checkly reset it to my preferred network name and WPA security.
I just noticed the weekend that it had once again reset itself to the default settings. Last time I know for sure my network name was correct was about a month ago. It something I want to set and not worry about.
I want to make clear that the router has not been moved, nor has the reset button been pushed. It is out of the way and not messed with.
Has anybody else experienced this problem. I do not particularly like the idea of my network security being randomly reset without my knowing.
    thanks

    Hi!
This happens when the router loses its firmware......try upgrading the firmware....
I personally dont think its due to someone hacking your network or a weak WAP key.....try upgrading the firmware and reinstalling the router..and that should work for you...
This is a common occurrence with this kind of routers...so you dont have to worry about it...
Revert Back if you still face any problems!!!!

After setting up the Netgear wnr2000v3 router and powering, indicator lights, on the router, are supposed to be green to indicate power is on and router is connected to dsl through to modem. The lights are not on and no connection can be made. The Netgear instructions advise me to contact my isp in this case. I connect to aol via firefox. Can you help? Is this a possible permission issue?

  • How can I configure FireFox security setting globally for all users on a PC? Is there something I can do in group policies or throught the registry to insure all users have the same settings?

Our Bank's core processor has rewritten their product to run in a web browser. Their browser of choice is Firefox 3.6. The specifications from our core processor specify specific security and settings parameters that must be adhered to by all users for their product to run properly. Is there a way to globally configure these settings via the registry or group policies to insure everyone who logs in to a given workstation opens Firefox with the same settings? • How to keep the internet security setting when I restart

    Hi,
I have a windows 7 professional sp1 and would like to know how can I enable the  "Launching applications and unsafe files" local policy and keep enabled in spite of restarting the computer.
Now if I restart pc this local policy is Not defined again.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks a lot.

Thanks gbilling it's clear what you say.
    This is my solution:
Local Computer Policy / User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Attachment Manager
    2.     On the right pane, double click Inclusion list for low file types.
    3.     Click Enable.
    4.     Include the file types such as .exe;.bat;.reg;.vbs in the Options box.
    5.     Click OK.
There isn't any gpo related to this so when restarting the .bat extension I attached to the local policy remains there.
    Thanks.
