How to achieve black border around a logo
Hello,
I am trying to do a parody of a Top Gun logo and have it done except for the border around the image. I know this is probably very simple and I've googled it but can't figured it out.
Here is an example:
http://www.redbubble.com/people/tgigreeny/works/7360099-top-gun-sundown-with-tomcat
I want to create that black border/background colour and can't figure it out.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
Mary
Well actually it is a bit more complex than I wrote
1 You have to outline the text and
2. united it with the art (color bars that hbe the same color)
3. you have to give the object a stroke and drag it below the fill in the appearance panel
4 the jet plane needs a fill of white
5. the star needs a stroke with the stroke being draged below the fill in the appearaqnce panel
6. then you group everything and give the group a sufficent weight stroke cover all the gaps
7 and finally you drag the stroke you gave the group below the contents in the appearance panel (that means it is behind the groups contents the logo art.
Like such ( You have to think this one out.)

How to remove black border around image files?
I'm something of a beginner with Photoshop, so forgive me if I've missed something entirely obvious: for some strange reason I'm now getting a black border around all image files that I save through the "Save for Web & Devices" panel. Does anyone know how I can save without creating this border? It looks rather unsightly when I load it into a client site. The file in question is a .png, but I seem to be getting the same effect with all other image files as well.
Thanks in advance,
ShaneOne cause could be having the matte color set to something other than none.
Is that a png-8?

How to get rid of the black border around the artboard
Hopefully my last question for tonight.
I need to get rid of the black border around the artboard. The two images show my drawing lined up with the art board and then inside the artboard. The dark gray is not the artboard.
As you see, the artboard has a black border. I need to get rid of it. It shows up in my project when my color key is green. The black won't go to transparent.
So how-to get rid of the border? Thanks
***Update***
I figured it out. View > Hide Artboards. Maybe this will help someone. Doesn't change the fact my spider looks like a tick:)Doesn't change the fact my spider looks like a tick:)
Try to get hold of a real spider and take a look at its anatomy, specially where the legs sprout from :-) -
How can I print with black border around edge of image?
I'd like to add a black border around the edge of certain images I'm printing. I know it's fairly trivial in Lightroom, but I can't see where this option is in Aperture. Is this lacking in Aperture, or am I just missing it? Many thanks.
PS -- I'm aware there are some plug-ins that claim to do this, so if Aperture can't do this, please feel free to chime in with comments on the best plug-in for this task.Rich Hayhurst wrote:

Aperture BorderFX 1.1
Thanks, Rich. That's a good plug-in, and does cover what I need (with lots of other features, too). The problem, though, is it requires an export of the image, which I then have to either print from another application, or reimport to Aperture to print. I was hoping to find something that will either just apply the border to the print job, or that would serve as more of an Edit With . . . type of plug-in than an Export plug-in, so I can keep everything in one place. Thanks again.

Black border around hotspots in Image map?
I have an image map in my HTML file that contains three
circular hotspots. When they're viewed in a browser, each one has a
black border around it after it's clicked on. I've seen other help
threads on the border problem talk about putting 'border:none" in
the IMG tag, but there's no IMG tag..it's an image map and border
is already set to "0". The code is below:
<map name="satelliteLinks">
<area shape="circle" coords="94,64,41" href="

target="_self" />

<area shape="circle" coords="517,59,43" href="

Thats the way the web works, its an accessibility feature, as
its how
you can tab around the page and see where the links are. Look

Try a NVRAM reset
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R.
Turn on your Mac.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys immediately after you hear the startup sound.
Hold these keys until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for a second time.

Hello, I'm not entirely sure when this started but I have an annoying 1/4" black border around my screen. I think it has to do with scaling, but can't find an option within the integrated Intel HD Graphics to change built-in monitor. This notebook has Intel HD graphics 4400, and is running the most current Intel Graphics HD and WIndows 8.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
, Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums. The first step you should try is a system restore back as far as you can go. This will change your configuration back and remove any updates that may have caused this. HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 10,8) Here are a couple other links that may be of help. Black border around video!
I want to upload my video to youtube but it has a massive black border around it. Can someone explain step by step how to get rid of this please. I know it has something to do with the scale but i am relatively new using cs5 and have no idea! please help
Welcome to the forum.
Black borders are usually caused by a mis-match with the Source Footage and the Sequence, or with the Export settings.
Can you please let us know the full details of your Source Footage, and your Sequence Frame Size, and also your Ecport settings?
Good luck, and thank you for that info.

Remove Black Border Around Embedded Flash Video
Hi-
I have searched on the Web without luck, so again I have to
turn tot he forum for help. I believe this should be simple and
straightforward, but doesn't appear so. I have a simple little
Flash video embedded in a plain old web page created with DW8. When
the page is displayed in my web browser it has a thin black border
around the video. I would like to remove this border (such as one
might with image border=0). I have tried several "fixes" ranging
from setting the BODY margin height to 0 to altering my external
style sheet. None of these worked. I even created a fresh web page
with no external style sheet at all and the border is still there.
How on earth do I get rid of that ugly thing? Any help is greatly
appreciated.

I just started using Captivate 4 (upgraded from 3). I am building a new project from scratch. It is 800x600. My problem is the black border or line that goes around my project - see below. I am using a customized skin that does not include this black rectangular border. I don't know how to get rid of it. I have changed skins but it doesn't make a difference. It seems to be more prominent on the right side for some reason too in that there seems to be more of a gap. The blue border I put around the project is 800x600 so I don't understand why this is showing at all. It is much more noticeable when I publish as a swf an run it in our LMS. Can someone help me? Thanks!
Thanks for responding.
It turns out it was an unhappy coincidence. When you preview, Captivate adds this black border around the skin you have already chosen. Although it does not do that when you preview in a web page.
But then I am placing the Captivate swf file in another product called Datango. This also put a black border around the Captivate file. This was the real culprit, but at first it looked it came from Captivate.
Sorry! -
Black border around jpegs even tho frame size set right
Hi
Can a friendly soul please tell me why my images are not the same width as my video footage.
The project is set to "standard" at 720 by 576.
When I set up the image prior to importing to CS3 i make sure they are the same 720 by 576.
Yet after theyve been imported i get a virtical black border around the left and right side. the pic is too narrow.
Experimenting with the sizes before import it seems 769 by 576 is about the right size.
But now the image (its a movie title) moves ever so slightly as i play the timeline. Its the first clip in the project.
Images are created in photoshop and then saved as Jpegs.
Video footage is DV PAL quality filmed on a Sony pd150 camcorder (this is a GREAT bit of kit btw)
thanks in advance
Stu:)

Black Border around movie in HD
I'm a newbie so apologies if this is a really dumb/basic question.
I recently edited a movie that I shot in HD (1080i). I edited it in Final Cut Express but there is a thick black-border around the whole thing, which is the say the footage doesn't fill the screen, and this isn't letter-boxing, it's a square around everything. How do a remove this? When I export it to quicktime it distorts the picture.
Here is what I'm talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZ5il5ZfZ1cIt looks as if its been captured incorrectly? Are you sure you shot HD 1080i? If yes, it looks as if the camera downconverted on export and you used a DV setting. Make sure you use the correct HDV setting to capture. Make sure the sequence you're working in is also set to the correct HD format. Make sure the camera is outputting HD and not outputting DV.
