  • Font of JLayeredPane and color of JOptionPane.showMessageDialog

    how can I change font from bold to regular and vise versa in Caption of JLayeredPane
    and how can I change color of JOptionPane.showMessageDialog?
    Thank You

    George, you have been extremely helpful.  You don't know how much I appreciate your knowledge and patience.
    1. Seems like going this option, we would be better served just making a web-based form.  I'll pass that on to the Powers-That-Be.
    2. Not to imply these folks are computer-illiterate, but the users completing the forms are plumbers, electricians, locksmiths, carpenters, etc.  In fact, they get a good number of printed, hand-written, snail-mailed forms submitted.   I really don't know the likelihood of getting these users to download and install Reader 11.
    Again, thanks so much for your time and expertise.

  • How to set font for  JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() ?

    Hi,
    I want to set font for JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(). I have tried with following but it did not worked.
    javax.swing.UIManager.put("JOptionPane.font", "Verdana"); Do any one have idea how to do this. Your suggestion would be helpfull to me.
    Thank you.

    Then you'll have to loop over the components in the JOptionPane and setFont for each JButton. My SwingUtils class (search the net using Darryl SwingUtils, I can't give you a link as it's blocked from my office) can make this easier.
    Sample code:import darrylbu.util.SwingUtils;
    import java.awt.Font;
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.plaf.FontUIResource;
    public class OptionPaneFonts {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          UIManager.put("OptionPane.messageFont", new FontUIResource(new Font(
                  "Verdana", Font.BOLD, 32)));
          SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
             @Override
             public void run() {
                new OptionPaneFonts().makeUI();
       public void makeUI() {
          JOptionPane pane = new JOptionPane("So it's a date?",
                  JOptionPane.QUESTION_MESSAGE,
                  JOptionPane.YES_NO_CANCEL_OPTION,
                  UIManager.getIcon("OptionPane.questionIcon"),
                  new String[]{"Okey-dokey", "Not on your life!",
                     "Let me think about it"
                  }, null);
          for (JButton button : SwingUtils.getDescendantsOfType(JButton.class, pane)) {
             button.setFont(new Font("Tahoma", Font.ITALIC, 18));
          JDialog dialog = new JDialog((JWindow) null);
          dialog.setModal(true);
          dialog.add(pane);
          dialog.pack();
          dialog.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
          dialog.setVisible(true);
    }db

  • How to activate link to cFolder/cproject in microsoft windows explorer

    Dear Expert,
                       Could you please tell me how to activate cFolder/cProject link with Microsoft File Explorer like EasyDMS?
    Thanks in advance..
    Bhuwan Tiwari

    The high level steps are as follows. Please let me know if you need more details.
    1. Transaction SICF- Activate service /default_host/cpro
    2. Define external alias referring to /default_host/cpro (/cpr_webdav for example) and make sure the correct client and target element ( /default_host/cpro) is selected
    3. Set the URL under the IMG Make settings for the WebDAV interface. The last part of the URL will be the external alias that you defined.
    4. Login to cFolders and navigate to any collaboration. Under "Additional Functions" button you can obtain the WebDAV URL
    I could not get this to work by simply mapping a network drive. However it works fine if you install the Netweaver portal drive client which will map the network drive for you.
    Hope this helps

  • Have "OK" button selected when using JOptionPane.showMessageDialog

    When using the following instruction, I would like that user only hit enter instead of pointing the cursor on the "OK" button and then click.
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, jta_output , "Solution",
    JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );
    Is there a way to "preselect" the "OK" button so that user can only hit the enter key?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your answer.
    Nevertheless I don't see how to implement this method.
    1. How can I link the "OK" button, resulting from the run of "JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( null, jta_output , "Solution", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE );" instruction, and the method "setInitialSelectionValue"?
    2. What object and value must be specified to refer to the "OK" button, when using method "setInitialSelectionValue"?

    Dear DNR,
    SPRO --> IMG --> Activate SAP ECC Extensions (Or, T. Code: SFW5)
    Go to Tab: Industry Business Function
    Select Business Function Set: ISR_RETAIL - SAP Retail
    A new line will be appeared below.
    Current Status will be OFF. Click within Field: Current Status. It will pop-up a list. Select "X - ON".

  • JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() - word wrapping exceptions?!

    Hey ppl,
    Probably a silly question...
    I'm currently working with JDBC, and SQLexceptions can be very long! Currently displaying them in a JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() (as i guess most people do?), but being so long they cause it to span the whole screen & then some!
    I looked through the JOptionPane API, but didn't spot anything that might help. Is there a way to get this exception to dispaly on multiple lines, kinda like word wrap in notepad?
    Cheers for any suggestions.
    Jim

    I can't speak for other developers..But as for myself, I rarely if ever print error messages to the JOptionPane. Almost always, I print my error messages and the stack if necessary, to the ouput. This is either a command line window, console, log file, or output screen in an ide depending upon how you program. My code looks something like this.
    catch(Exception e)
        System.out.println(e.getMessage());  // Will print only the message property of the exception
        e.printStackTrace();  // Will print the stack for more information
    }Sorry I couldn't answer your question directly. Maybe someone else can. Hope I was helpful anyway.

  • How to activate a function in the Object Services Toolbox of PR05

    Hi,
    In transaction PR05 (Travel Expense Manager) select any trip and then click on 'Change'. This takes you to the screen for the individual trip.
    On the top left of the screen is the 'Object Services Toolbox'.
    If I drop down on this list then select 'Create' there are 5 options under 'Create' i.e. 'Create attachment', Create Note', 'Create External Document', 'Store Bus. Doc', and 'Enter Bar Code'.
    The 'Enter Bar Code' is deactivated. I would like to know how to activate this.
    Thank you.
    Warren.

    I think you need to check for IMG transaction code OAC5 & OAC3 and also check IMG configuration setting under
    Application server-->basis services > Archive Link> customizing incoming documents--> bar code scenarios

  • How to activate Image, Pdf, Hyperlink and Scale Prices in SRM-MDM

    Hi Experts,
    I have requirement to activate the following features:
    1. Image
    2. PDF
    3. Hyperlink
    4. Scale Prices
    These should be activated and should be available in the current business' internal catalogs so that users could be able to easily identify the item they want to create.
    Does anyone know the steps on how to proceed on these?
    I have read and researched about this and I found out that objects should be imported in Data Manager and the link between items should be mapped in Import Manager.
    I tried this first in Image, I was able to successfully import image. I tried adding the link first in existing item in data manager by right click on the Image field->Add/Link New... -> I was brought to the screen where I should add the image again, so I added ti again and there I was able to link the image and the item.
    I understand that for the image to be available in the end-user's internal catalog screen, I should modify UI Configuration. So I added the Image field by going to Customize Display Tab-> and adding it in the Item Lists, Cart Preview, Compare, Item details radio button. But when I checked on end-user's internal catalog screen, Image column is still not there.
    I believe PDF and Image has the same process. But how could I add the link between image and item for the entire catalog items?
    Please also help on how to activate the Hyperlink and Scale price functionality.
    Thank you so much!

  • How to activate video calling from account page?

    On a new computer Windows 8.1  can sign into my Skype for Desktop Account using skype name and password. Also have same email address as before.  Account page comes up but dont know how to activate Skype so I can video call.  Tried to instal Skype & got as far as Save Skype to File box, clicked on this, then was expecting to see Run Installer but nothing happened. Was previously using Windows XP. Have the original Skype download filed. Plus several more where I have been attempting to resolve this problem. Am all ´skyped up´ but cannot use it !!
    Absolutely desperate have been trying to remedy this for ages. can anyone help please. Thanks Deborah
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Well, if it hasn't successfully installed yet, then you won't be able to uninstall it.  So with that in mind, if you are able to uninstall it then that would explain why you can't install it again.  The program won't let you install it if it's already been installed.  So if you'd like to try again you can uninstall it and reinstall from one of the files you downloaded.
    So, the first step would be to see if it is currently installed.  To do this, right click the Start button in the bottom right corner while in Windows desktop.  You will see a context menu pop up.  From there, choose Control Panel, and within Control Panel choose Uninstall a program.  You will see a list of currently installed programs.
    If you see Skype in the list, uninstall it.  If you don't, then don't worry about it - it's not installed.  Now try to install it again.
    With regard to User Account Control, don't worry about that at all.  It is safe to click Yes, and once you do that should initiate the installation process.  User Account Control (UAC) is a warning that something want approval from a computer administrator, which gives it access to parts of the computer it would not have otherwise.  You probably don't want to give administrator access to programs you do not trust, but Skype is made by Microsoft so there is nothing to worry about.
    Let me know if this helps you, or if you have any more questions.  Good luck!
    P.S. You said the Skype installation file came from your XP computer - that may be a problem in itself.  When you download Skype from the website there is a pretty good chance that it checks the version of your operating system before downloading, meaning that if you downloaded it on a Windows XP computer you may have downloaded a Windows XP version that will not work on Windows 8.1.  So, if you are using a file you downloaded from that computer, just download it again from the new one.  You can use the link I put in the first post.
