How to activate an email form created in Dreamweaver

Hello,
I have created a multi field email form in Dreamweaver and am
wondering how to make it send to an email address. I have SENDER,
EMAIL ADDRESS, SUBJECT, MESSAGE AREA AND A SEND BUTTON. Is a CGI
the best method or is there an easier way? I have already typed in
a CGI script in the Action dialogue box but now I don't now what to
do to make it actually work.
All help gratefully appreciated,
M

What CGI script are you using?

    How do I change a form created by a departed employee?

    Some of those things involves using the various form field tools that are available in Acrobat 7 Pro (but not Standard). More information on working with forms is in the help doc.
    Moving text that's part of the regular page contents can be difficult or impossible. Deleting things is easier, but still may be difficult to get everything just as you want. The ideal way to make such changes is to change the source document and generate a new PDF, and then in Acrobat replace the old pages with the new (Document > Replace Pages). Any fields and other annotations, bookmarks, code, etc. will be retained.

  • How Can I Prevent Emailed PDF (created in Acrobat)From Opening in Preview?

    When I email my PDF page, if it is opened in another default viewer ('Preview', etc..) it opens up at the wrong size, (it is designed to open full screen and does not in 'Preview"), and the hot links do not work and are cold.  Is this due to people having older operating systems and/or old versions of applications? or something else?
    Can I somehow treat the pdf on my end before I email it in order to ensure that the pdf is opened in Acrobat and reads and performs correctly?
    I know I can include a note in the body copy of the email asking that it be opened in Acrobat, but I wish to 'take out the moving parts', so to speak, because one cannot always count on people to cooperate; (we all know how easy it is to just hit the  'Delete' button.).
    Please someone tell me there is a way around this and a procedure that will ensure that a pdf open up as an acrobat document by default (help!).
    Thanks!

    You really can't prevent it opening in Preview. There was a post recently (in the forms area I think) about writing some information to provide information in Preview as I recall. You should indicate in your e-mail that the PDF should be opened in Acrobat or Reader and that the use of Preview may create an unacceptable presentation.

  • Email form created in Acrobat 9, custom subject line and content

    I'm revisiting a form I created about a year back, and I can't remember how I got a javascript to work.
    What I want is for the user to click on an "Email" button, which will open their email program and create a new message, with the subject line filled out from one of the form fields, and then will have specified text in the body, as well as attaching the document and sending it to multiple email addresses.
    I have a javascript that I thought worked, but I keep getting error messages on it when I try to test it out.
    The script I'm currently trying to make work is:
    // This is the form return e-mail. Its hardcoded
    // so that the form is always returned to the same address
    // Change address on your form
    var cToAddr = "[email protected]; [email protected]";
    // First, get the client CC e-mail address
    var cCCAddr = this.getField("Teacheremail").value;
    // Set the subject and body text for the e-mail message
    var cSubLine = this.getField("CourseNumber").value + " corrections form submitted by "
    + this.getField("TeacherName").value;
    var cBody = "\nThank you for submitting your form.\n" +
                   "Save the mail attachment for your own records.\n" +
                   "Do NOT worry if the form appears blank in your email message.";
    // Send the form data as an PDF attachment on an e-mail
    this.mailDoc({bUI: true, cTo: cToAddr, cCc: cCCAddr,
      cSubject: cSubLine, cMsg: cBody});
    What am I doing wrong?

    forgot to add
    This is the error message, but there is a correct email listed in the Teacheremail field, so I don't know why it says it's "null."
    this.getField("Teacheremail") is null
    7:AcroForm:Email:Annot1:MouseUp:Action1
    TypeError: this.getField("Teacheremail") is null
    7:AcroForm:Email:Annot1:MouseUp:Action1

  • How to save Fillable PDF form created in XI - So Acrobat Reader can fill out and send back

    Hi, Im extremely hopeful someone can help me with this question, Ive had extreme luck with this question site, you have all been amazing.
    I have created a fillable form in Adobe Acrobat XI and I have saved my work and Im ready to send the form to my client.
    I have been told that I need to save my file in a manner that the general public that does not have Acrobat XI, and mainly has acrobat reader, will be able to open, fill my form out, and send back to me completed.
    How do I do this.
    Ive run a couple tests with coworker and its not allowing the saving of the information that she filled out.
    Does anyone know how I need to save and distribute this form so I get it back filled out from my clients? that probably have only reader?
    thanks in advance for your help.
    Amy

    I think I figured this out???? My pdf tester has gone to bed, so hopefully I will know by morning if this is my solution......
    Open the PDF in Acrobat XI (the form you have saved that is ready to be filled out to whoever you distribute the form to).
    Choose Advanced > Enable Usage Rights in Adobe Reader (Acrobat 8/9) (if you have XI do not do this step, but do step 4 for XI)
    or
    File > Save As >Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features (Acrobat X) (Its actually not in save as, but in save as other)
    Save the PDF using a different file name, you will be using this new file to be the file you will distribute.
    When you now open the PDF in Adobe Reader you will be able to fill the form and save the data and then send it back to the author that is requesting the form to be filled out.

  • How to activate a project from create status

    Hello
    I have a situation where a template project was created with ChaRm activation and there are transports associated with the project. However, the project is still in create status and we are unable to activate the project. Tried to change the forced change of phase, but still not able to activate it. Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Gangadhar

    Hi Gangadhar,
    I do not understand your terminology.
    Where do you see the status created of the project, in which transaction ?
    How have you created the transport requests ? With ChaRM ? Have you created a cycle ?
    What is the functional problem ?

  • Little help with making an email form.

    can any of you lovely, lovely people point me in the
    direction of a good Dreamweaver CS3 tutorial on how to make an
    email form. Preferably one with a "conform email address" text
    field.
    Thanks all!
    P.S. I have tried looking.

    There is god general training available at www.lynda.com .
    Its $25 a month for online video viewing. The title is called
    Dreamweaver CS3 - Beyond the Basics.
    I also would recommend a free form mail solution like
    www.tectite.com which I have used before. It is more powerful that
    the spry widget in dreamweaver, but is on the server side and not
    the user application side.

  • Creating Good Looking Email Form? How?

    Good Day,
    I want to create a nice professional looking email form for my site like these guys did https://www.avatarnewyork.com/nf
    I use Dreamweaver CS5 and i know that it has an option to add text area, submit button etc. But they all look so ugly. Is there an add-on that I can download to have more and better looking options for these stuff.
    Or what tools I should use to create a from like https://www.avatarnewyork.com/nf has???
    I don't think Dreamweaver is enough by itself to create nice designes. I feel like I am missing some tools? Can anyone help?
    Thank you in advance.

    Here's all the CSS affecting one text field in that form...
    background-color: transparent;
    background-image: url("/images/ecom/ecom-form_textfield.png");
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    border: 0px none;
    color: rgb(102, 102, 102);
    font-size: 9px;
    height: 16px;
    margin-bottom: 12px;
    margin-top: 5px;
    padding: 6px 0px 0px 8px;
    width: 262px;
    outline: 0px none;
    margin:0px;

  • Can I create an email form that includes a field for uploading and image?

    I'd like to create an email form in Muse that allows people to submit the usual text but also allows them to browse for and upload an image that would be emailed (attached or inline) to me along with the text.
    Does anyone know if there's a way to do that directly in Muse?
    Thanks.

    Which form?
    Many of the forms are created with LiveCycle ES so it might be possible to edit the form with Acrobat X Professional. If you have the data in an SQL database, you could possibly create a data connection and import the data into the form and save a copy of the completed form. You can also use the Acrobat JavaScript 'importTextData' to import a row of data from a tab delimited data file.
    You might want to talk to other Real Estate professionals to see how they are going do this. If you have a property management program, that program might have an update to perform this task.
